Chapter 13 Situation in Venice II
Luciano arrived in the basement exactly after an hour, his hair already messy, shoulders squared and donned in black.
He didn't need an introduction, his aura made it very clear who he was and how important he was to the whole operation.
The people with the names on the list from Andreas’ tablet did have one or two things to do with the problems identified earlier.
The word “mercy!” didn't exist in the space pending the time Luciano was done with whatever he intended to do.
His perfume spoke volumes for him, announcing his arrival without even uttering a single word.
All listed traitors had been in his space before, thus, they were very aware that Luciano was now present in the room.
“Remove the covers on their faces!”, Luciano's deep voice ordered as several men stepped forward to do as they were told.
The dim lighting in the room didn't allow for much squinting amongst the people who were bound in chairs.
How graceful!
The Don didn't have them waiting on their knees.
“What do you want from us?!” Someone was brave enough to ask as he struggled with the zip cuffs.
“Wrong question…!”, Luciano drawled, his face expressionless as he approached the “tool table!”
His fancy name for the table the torturing materials were kept.
“... You should have asked what you could possibly do to get out of here!”, Luciano finished picking up a plier.
“Listen up! I'm going to give you all a chance to confess, you all…!Luciano was suddenly cut short by someone suddenly saying “now!”
Immediately, he started seeing the bodies of the people who were once bound to their chairs falling limp or dropping to the floor.
The men on guard quickly scattered around the room, bringing out their guns to shoot whoever was killing them.
However, it was more of a what than who.
“Cyanide!”, Luciano mouthed, rushing to one person he noticed was slower in swallowing the pill.
He quickly opened his mouth, leaning the chair forward, so he couldn't swallow it.
Luciano reached into his mouth, taking out the cyanide pill and smashing it with his feet.
“Clever, huh?!”
Pushing his chair forward, Luciano ordered.
“Keep him in a cell! Make sure he doesn't have any of those pills on him!”
“Please! Please! I'll tell you anything you want to know, just don't kill me! Please! I'll tell you all that I know about everything!”, the man said as he was being hurled to another Cell.
“You will regardless!”, Luciano said, loud enough for him to hear.
“They expected this!”, Luciano said to Andreas as he looked at the bodies which lay lifeless in front of his eyes.
“They did, plus, it only proves there are more!”, Andreas said.
“Clean this up!”, Luciano said.
“Do we have pressing engagements back home?!”, Luciano asked.
“Nope, not for now at least!”, Andreas answered.
“Good then! We'll be staying longer in Venice! We have to sort this whole thing out!”, Luciano said as he approached the cell.
\~~~
The men had done what The Don had requested of them.
They had searched the man thoroughly, confirming he didn't have another stash of poison to unalive himself.
The man in question started shivering, tears in his eyes as he saw that Luciano entered the cell.
“Excuse us gentlemen!”, Luciano ordered as the guards stepped out, leaving just him and the man bound to the chair.
“Please! Please! I'll tell you all that I know! Just please don't kill me!”
“You're going to tell me all you know regardless!”, Luciano said as he stepped forward.
“What? What do you mean!?!”, The man asked, tears now falling from his eyes.
“The rest of your colleagues swallowed the cyanide very fast! Why did you hesitate?!”, Luciano asked as he remembered the look on the man’s face seeing bodies drop to the floor.
“I I was never too involved! All I had to do was commune between them, I never really did anything!”, The man bound to the chair managed to say as he let out ragged breaths.
“Commune?! Between whom?”, Luciano asked, taking steps closer to him.
Fearing that Luciano would cause him pain he quickly started talking.
“The men, all of them, they, they, they had something to do with e- every- everything. Yes inclu- including me.
Some tipped off government officials so they would be on our tail!
Some have been embezzling the operation’s money and sharing amongst themselves
Whil- While some have been hijacking shipments, selling and keeping the money for themselves! They were more than just rats!”, The man confessed.
Luciano's jaw ticked, anger welling up inside of him as he heard the confession.
The man continued, “all I know is that there's someone giving them the orders! There's someon-!”, The man couldn't complete his sentence as his throat was caught between Luciano's right palm.
“Who is it?!”, Luciano asked, already very angry!”.
“I dund knrr!”, The man managed to form coherent words despite the fact he was being strangled.
Luciano watched as his face paled, his eyes getting weak in seconds.
He needed answers, so he wasn't going to be too rash yet! However, he got the lead he was looking for.
He sighed as he stopped choking the man.
“Too bad I didn't get to pull the trigger!”,Luciano thought of the men that swallowed the cyanide pill as he stepped out of the cell.
“Keep him alive!”, He said as he approached the office reserved for him in “the basement!”

Mr Morales sat in his office with a smile slowly stretching on his lips as he looked at the scattered papers in front of him.
“I think I found it!”, he said in realization.
For days, he had been looking for anything at all, something to get his daughter away from Luciano.
To execute this, he decided to utilize his hands, looking for the deed of one of his properties he hadn't sold.
He grabbed the deed along with the reports of the land that had been conducted a few years back.
“VERY GOOD FOR FARMING, ASSURED TO YIELD CROPS DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF NUTRIENTS IN THE SOIL!”
He hadn't been one to survive off of farming, however, the prospect of the land yielding amazing results occurred to him to be the key to releasing his daughter.

Back in Venice, Andreas entered Luciano's office to see the boss resting on the chair, his eyes closed, his usual way of resting.
“What happened?!”, Luciano asked, opening his eyes to see Andreas.
“There's a situation sir!”, Andreas said as Luciano widened his eyes.
