Chapter 114 Finally Meeting III
The ladies sure couldn't wait for the amount of shopping they were going to do for Sophia's birthday.
The plan was simple...
Because she had asked merely hours before, Esteban would come pick up Isabella and Sophia, where they would head to the mall and meet with Celia.
However, the party had no idea how drastic things were going to turn out.
Per usual, Isabella locked the door to her apartment, an excited Sophia following behind her.
"Come on mama!", Isabella urged as she stretched out her hand for her daughter to take it.
"Hehe!", Sophia giggled, fully aware of what was in store for the day.
"We'll wait here mama! He'll be here soon!", Isabella explained to her daughter as they stood by the entrance of the building.
"Okay!", Sophia said, jumping and hugging her mother's legs.
Isabella looked down on her daughter, her greatest achievement. She still couldn't believe her baby girl was turning two years old.
She sang with her daughter as they awaited Esteban's arrival. Except, Esteban wouldn't be showing up at all.
Coincidentally, Esteban had been engorged with so much work that he hadn't seen coming.
He was so busy he couldn't even call and tell the party to move on without him.
He saw her.
He saw the beauty that had messed with his head so much he discovered parts he was unaware about.
He had been waiting in the car, right beside Tomasso, just simply intending to see her, he hadn't thought she would actually dress to leave her house.
Luciano didn't even know how he was going to start.
"Give us some privacy!", Luciano ordered as he stepped out of the car with tinted glasses.
As soon as he came out, Tomasso drove away, leaving him staring directly at the duo.
Isabella suddenly felt a looming presence, along with the smell that registered with dread.
Luciano's perfume!
She snapped her head in the direction it wafted from and saw the man she ran away from.
She turned pale, white like she had seen a ghost.
I should have known, Isabella thought she had gone far enough.
She really should have known it would only take a matter of time before Luciano found her.
They both didn't say anything, nor did Luciano intend to move from where he stood.
His eyes hardened as his eyes landed on the baby...
He had caught very similar details, but, before he could register the rest, Isabella had shoved her baby behind her back.
She had worked in his house, she could say she knew how the Mafia worked to a certain extent.
Running would be useless at this point in time, he probably already knew every detail about her.
She's mine, Luciano thought as he saw the dark locks of hair peep out from behind her mother's legs.
Those green eyes were unmistakable.
He smiled, quite proud of his creation, he certainly didn't need a DNA to confirm the baby was his.
He stared back up at Isabella and really took her appearance in.
She looked stunning, the sun simply being her accessory.
She had dyed her hair brown at some point, and she had cut a lot of it. She had gained a bit of weight, even more beautiful than he remembered.
His anger subsided substantially seeing that the baby looked nothing like the only man she had been seen with multiple times.
He subconsciously patted himself at the back, he did well.
Finally thinking of what he would say to her, he looked left and right before he crossed the street.
Seeing that Luciano walked towards them, Isabella carried her baby and turned towards her apartment.
However, Luciano's long legs caught up with them in no time.
"You don't want to do that Amore!", Luciano finally said, sending shivers down Isabella's back.
That voice!
She shouldn't be listening or thinking about how good his voice sounded.
She should have been thinking about what he did, right before she escaped.
Isabella might have been far too gone, more than she realized.
She didn't even know what to say.
She had actually hoped for the day, but she remained careful, really not leaving any traces.
But, the man was right in front of her and she was a Mess.
"Why'd you keep my child from me this whole time?!", Luciano asked, very aware of the answer, however, he missed her voice and wanted to hear her speak.
"Come on Sophia...
Let's go!", Isabella said as she carried her daughter and headed back to her apartment.
Her eyes had become red from all the tears she struggled not to release.
They didn't say anything to each other, rather Luciano followed after them, making sure the experienced woman didn't trip on her stairs.
Isabella had no idea why she let him inside of her house, or why she hadn't carried her baby and ran.
The woman was honestly tired of running.
Luciano closed the door behind him as he watched Isabella go to another room.
In the meantime, he scanned the apartment, quite proud of how put together the space was.
Isabella came out minutes after, taking off the layers she had put on earlier.
She remained in a knit top and jeans.
Luciano didn't take his eyes off her as he sat comfortably on the couch, spreading his legs.
Isabella sat opposite him, she stared back at him, wondering how much he knew.
"I underestimated you, you know that...!", Luciano drawled, getting sucked into the woman's beauty.
He was sure that had never happened.
"Maria Bertinelli!", he stated, confirming Isabella's suspicions.
If he had found that out, he probably knew a whole lot, Isabella thought.
He saw the gears in her head move, thus, he automatically knew she was thinking of something.
"Calm down!
I'm not doing anything.
What's her name?!", Luciano asked.
"Sophia!", Isabella replied.
"Sophia Rossi!
Has a nice ring to it!", Luciano chimed, Isabella's eyes shooting up to him.
"She's 2!", Luciano concluded as he did the calculation in his head.
"She'll be two tomorrow!", Isabella corrected.
"Hmm!
What do you have to pack here?!", Luciano asked looking around.
"What does that mean?", Isabella asked, having an inkling of what he was talking about.
"It means what it means Amore! We'll be leaving immediately!", Luciano said.
