Chapter 109 Found
~~ A year later ~~
Luciano hadn't had answers for the Morales family when they came asking about their daughter after paying their debt
He had no idea where the lady was even after he had told them he wouldn't be releasing her.
His green eyes became dull overtime as he finally understood what the ache in his heart meant.
He craved Isabella's presence.
He hadn't been with anyone, or tried to rekindle a relief from his past flings. Instead, he put the attention in his business, seeking answers to the burner phone he had anonymously been gifted a year ago.
Of course, Mia still hadn't been caught, Madam Paula remained hopeful that Isabella would come back and Luciano's men would bring her with them.
Her presence lingered nonetheless.
It was all going to be settled soon as Luciano's private investigator finally had news.
Out of discretion, Luciano had employed Tommaso Mancini, the private investigator, to canvass the whole of Europe.
It had taken a little over a year, but finally he had news.
Tomasso had called Luciano while he was taking care of a loose end.
"... make sure to keep them silent!", Luciano ordered as he actually intended to do the job himself.
His phone vibrated in his pocket, thus, he had to attend to it.
He brought out his phone, a tad bit excited to see the Caller ID.
Over the year, he had learned to not be as excited when the man called.
It was usually bad news.
There wasn't a day he called that Luciano didn't hope for good news.
The day was no exception, he did call for good news.
"You wouldn't believe she was in Umbria the whole time!", Tomasso started in a gruff voice.
Being an alcoholic didn't cancel the fact that he was good at his job.
"What?
Andreas went to a meeting and we canceled it out.
It was about a year ago!", Luciano replied.
He closed the door to his office, like he was hearing very confidential information.
His joy knew no bounds, even with the situation that led to her escape.
The Don actually looked forward to seeing her.
"Si!
I understand why they couldn't locate her!
She changed her name
Cut her hair
Literally changed her whole Identity!", Tomasso explained.
"How do I know you're telling the truth!?!", Luciano asked, trying to control his excitement.
"Huh?!
Don! You think I'll call to confirm the lady if I was wrong?!", Tomasso asked back in disbelief.
"I want proof!", Luciano simply said.
"Fine then!", Tomasso replied as he took pictures of Isabella who was monitoring the offloading into their warehouse.
"It was quite difficult placing her, but I dug around a bit.
I confirmed she was the one when the time period she arrived here matched the time she escaped.
Tomasso's words drifted as Luciano saw the pictures he sent.
It was really her, Tomasso had found Isabella and...
She had changed, grown to be precise.
She looked radiant and beautiful, and probably wasn't living in fear.
"What do you want me to do now Don?!
Want to send some men over to bring her back?!", Tomasso asked, ready to get the job over with.
It took Luciano quite a while before he settled to watch her from afar in the meantime.
"No! Keep an eye on her!
And keep this information for yourself!", Luciano answered.
"But Don! I have other work to get to!", Tomasso said, trying to refute.
Private contractors like Tomasso only knew one thing according to Luciano...
Credit alerts!
"I'll wire you three million for a job well done, and for you to keep an eye on her! I want more details and more pictures!", Luciano ordered.
"Five!", Tomasso said, a smile on his face as he tried to haggle.
"Three!", Luciano said, not backing down either.
"Four!", Tomasso said again, trying to get a good bargain.
"Three!"
"Fine! I'll keep an eye on the lady!", Tomasso said.
"Good!
And remember nobody can know you're tailing her!", Luciano reminded.
"Got it Done!", Tomasso replied before he ended the call.
Of course he wasn't pleased that he had to babysit, but he would do it anyway as he got a huge pay check for the job.
Refreshing really!
The Don would give him even more money if he did his job well.
~~
The people closest to him would have noticed the change in The Don.
The change that happened because of Isabella.
From someone who barely talked to someone always asking about and yearning for the lady.
Ruthless still, The Mafia Don was in for a rather shocking detail about the lady.
