Chapter 42 What do you think?
Arianna's POV
Ravyen noticed and he spread his arms at me. I needed it, that comfort in him. Someone to encourage me I wasn't alone.
I slowly drew closer and embraced him, buried in his arms and feeling so alive that my muscle losen.
There was also a voice record of their discussion and his threat. I guess I needn't ask him.
It all points down to the fact that he did that for my wealth. My mom tried to seperate and learning it might not work as he plans, he tried to get rid of her!
How despicable he was! However, something was quite puzzling. How did ravyen got all these videos and voice records?
Yeah it was Frank but then it wouldn't be easy to get such evidence without a deep underground world.
Possibly his wealth helped him out. Speaking of which! I had the perfect plan.
I refrain from the embrace with a bright look on the face as a ray of hope flushes through my heart.
It was as though I was about to achieve the biggest thing in my life. He irk a brow at me, sensing something with the way I pulled from his hold.
I stride to where the laptop was, adjacent me and glanced at the blank screen.
"Let me guess a genius idea has popped up" he said with a serious gaze at me and I nodded.
He was intrigued and thrilled to know more. He folded his arms, remaining in his position which was opposite me now.
"Go on, I'm all ears" he furthers and that seems ridiculous. He was actually going to hear my plan!
Oh how I felt like embracing him again that he finally gave me a chance to express myself.
I found myself smiling at him because it felt like a dream, having to finally see ravyen hearing me out.
"Arianna? Are you sick?" He asked, seeming confused and having a baffled look on his face.
I just realized I was smiling awkwardly at him and it must have made him puzzled. Quickly, I ceased and kept a straight face to prove how serious I was.
I flutters my eyes cleared my throat and then resumed to what I initially wanted to say.
"When is your new company launching?"
He hesitated to respond like he wasn't liking the fact that I brought up his new company.
That was my idea, a part of my idea though.
Recently, he lets me follow him to the office, well after much arguments.
I helped a lot there. At least I was smart and brilliant in that aspect. My appearance there fetched him more partners to work with him.
Whenever he was confused over something, I try my best to help him out. He realized he needed assistance.
There was no need for him to claim he could do it all on his own. That was his problem, he was self-centered.
"In a week time" he quickly responded intrigued and fixing his eyes on me.
"Perfect, let's send an invitation to my ex-husband, he has to witness his own crimes" i quickly informed.
He narrowed his eyes at me, his face stern and I felt that was a bad idea. We shouldn't be inviting an enemy over.
Ravyen duck his head and then squeeze his face as though he wasn't pleased with that.
"I've got to see that man's face again" he murmured grudgingly beneath his breath. I heard that but pretended not to.
"Not bad" he finally commented and I heaved softly as that was unexpected. His dramatic silence, he should stop that.
"Go on" he pressed on striding to the bar to pour himself a bottle of beer. I rubbed my palms together as though that question was unexpected.
Nevertheless, he was my partner and should know they I was masterminding.
"I'd air the evidence" I added up wondering what ridiculous words he might say next.
He grimanced at me and then gulp another glass of beer.
"What do you think?" I asked pressing my fingers together and anticipating a reply. Nonetheless, I still have to hear his opinion regarding this because his permission really matter.
He gulp down, heaves softly and then let out a sided smile.
"It's okay, at least we'd be together at the inauguration" he replied and I exhaled with a stern look at the table in front of me.
Did he really mean it when he said we'd be together like he didn't want to lose me. I threw my face to him and he quickly shifted his to his beer.
He had been staring at me but just pretended not to. I beckoned on him to pour me a glass which he did.
I gulp it down at once and my throat burns and I felt like scratching it. That was hot like I've never drank beer before.
My face turned red as I gasped for air.
"Are you alright?" He asked and I raised a thumb up to resume to what I initially wanted to say.
I'd witness Ivan cover his head in shame and I couldn't wait for such a day to come.
Ravyen placed his hands on my shoulders and walked me gently to a chair in the study room to sit. The chair was opposite the table and the laptop facing me backwardly.
I've been standing for a while now and my legs were aching. I didn't realize it until he made me seat down and I was thankful to him.
While I was seated, he leaned on the table and faced me. I felt I'd drop dead with that position he took.
I fluttered my eyes and folded my lips feeling abashed. I tried not to be carried away by him.
The beer wasn't with him anymore as he had abandoned it on a stool. I wish it was close by so I could take another gulp to erase this tension in me.
I was still sad and in mourning. It was obvious as I didn't make any effort to initiate a conversation with him.
"Well Mrs, you brought the plan but then, you've got to make an entrance" he introduced and I rolled my eyes wondering what he wants to speak about.
"Is that really necessary?" I questioned, contemplating over what kind of entrance he referred to.
"Yeah!" He points out, suddenly stood up and before I could wink my lashes to his direction, I was facing a board, mapped out.
He had brought a writing board before me to narrate a never ending description that might eventually make me slumber.
