Chapter 17

"But, you-" said mother, trying to persuade me.

"No way! Stop forcing me to do everything you say, I don't want to!" I shouted, my eyes widened sharply, my face flushed with anger. I really can't stand it because everything I say goes unheard.

I staggered towards my room, leaving behind my mother, Jenny and Daniel who were still frozen in their places. My chest felt tight, it felt like swallowing a stone. I sat on the bed, my body was shaking, I couldn't control it.

My tears flowed, as if I regretted having shouted at my mother. I know, I shouldn't be angry with her, She is just worried about me.

“Daniel, yes, this is definitely his doing. He must have been the one who invited those horrible creatures to bother me so that everyone would think that I was still sick and they would drag me back to the hospital," I thought.

I don't know what to do to make them believe that I'm okay.

Knock...knock...knock...

A knocking sound came from my bedroom window.

"Who's that?" I asked, but there was no answer. I thought maybe it was the sound of the wind and tried to ignore it.

Knock...knock...knock...

The knocking sound came again, this time louder than before. It sounded like someone was out there knocking on my bedroom door from outside the window.

"Who's that?" I shouted, I was starting to feel disturbed.

Knock...knock...knock...

The knocking sound was getting louder and I couldn't stand hearing it anymore. I immediately walked towards my bedroom window and slowly saw who the prankster was who dared to knock on someone else's bedroom window in the middle of the night? Wait, but isn't my room on the second floor?

I almost opened the window curtain and immediately thought better of it when a feeling of fear started to come over me.

I looked at the clock on the table which showed 02.30 in the morning.

Knock...knock...

The sound came again, I quickly opened the curtain to see directly who was knocking on my bedroom window.

There was no one, "Should I open the window to be sure?" I thought. My feelings rejected my intentions, asking me to step back and it would be better to go straight to sleep. However, my mind forced me to move forward.

Finally my mind won, I slowly opened the window, a gust of wind entered my room, making the cold even more pronounced. Slowly, I tried to see what was outside the window. The only sight I saw was darkness and tall trees growing around my house.

Yes, nothing. I breathed a sigh of relief, maybe I was thinking too much. I closed the bedroom window again and turned towards my bed. Suddenly a strong wind blew, the window curtains flew as the wind came in from between the windows which were not closed tightly.

I was standing facing the dressing mirror and saw a woman with a crooked head standing behind my bedroom window, her head seemed to be twisted, her face was very pale and what was more frightening, she was smiling at me, a very scary smile.

I immediately turned around, after I saw the scary figure in the mirror.

No, she's not there. My body was shaking, I couldn't even move my legs. Slowly, I tried to move my feet and stepped back towards the window, where the figure of the terrible woman appeared.

The wind blew harder, making the window shift and open more. Quickly, I closed the window and immediately locked it, closing the curtains so I couldn't see that scary figure anymore.

"Mother, am I going to die?" I asked, Mother held my hand tightly.

“No, everything will be fine. You'll be fine again, believe me?" Said mother, she was trying to be strong. However, her tears flowed freely. I know, she can't hold back his feelings.

A few minutes later, several nurses took me to the operating room. I, who was lying in bed, could only surrender as they took me through corridor after corridor of the hospital. I looked around me, a few hours ago, I felt like I was still very scared. But now, for some reason my thoughts and feelings seem to be flying away.

Just before I entered the operating room, a woman in a white dress was standing near the operating room door. I don't recognize her face, is she my relative who came to see how I am? Or is she mom's friend?

When I got closer to her, I could see there was something strange about the woman. She stood stiffly, her hair was flowing, her skin was very white and what was even stranger, her head was crooked as if it had been twisted, her pale face was smiling at me. Her strange smile scared me, very scared.

"Who's she? Who is that woman?" I asked one of the nurses who took me to the operating room.

"Who do you mean, Miss?"

"The woman who was standing by the door, who is she?" I asked panicked. They looked at each other confused, not understanding who the woman I was referring to was.

"But Miss, there's no one there!" Answered one of the nurses.

“No, I saw her-”

"Maybe you saw wrongly, you should calm down because soon we will give you anesthesia."

I looked at the ceiling of the operating room, I could smell the strong smell of medicine and also a fishy smell, the aroma made me want to vomit. When they started to put the anesthetic into my body, i

n my slowly fading consciousness, I could still remember the image of that woman for some reason. It felt like she had entered my subconscious.
