Who Is In Power?

Lyra hesitated to knock on Lucas' door. She was sure that Lucas was in a bad mood right now. But she also felt bad if she didn't apologize to Lucas for her impudence.

But before she could knock on the door, the door opened and Lucas appeared from behind the door. As usual, he looked calm with his typical cold expression. Lyra shuddered, she felt a little scared. But somehow she was sure that Lucas wouldn't be angry with her.

"L-Lucas, I-"

"Come in!" Lucas said. He opened the door to his room wide and asked Lyra to come in immediately.

Lyra smiled flatly as she stepped into Lucas' bedroom. After Lyra entered, Lucas immediately closed the door to his room.

"You want to talk to me?"

"I want to apologize for my attitude and words today. I know that I shouldn't interfere in matters between you and your brothers. I was just trying to say what I think about you guys. That's why I-"

"I understand,"

"What?"

"You don't need to apologize, I understand your intentions. To be honest, I don't know how to deal with my siblings either. Even though we are brothers, our parents raised and treated us in different ways, especially our father."

"You were treated very special?"

"Does it look like that?"

"To be honest, you look like a young master while Keith, Lucien, Levi, Gavin, Aiden and Jacob look like your men, I mean rather than brothers, they look like strangers."

"You think so?"

"Yes, I know maybe you actually love them. But you don't know how to show them affection."

"No, you're wrong."

"Wrong?"

"To be honest, from the start I never considered them to be my brothers because my father didn't want me to think of them like that either. Because of that, I never felt that I loved them as brothers. They are people I can replace at any time if I want , I'm not consider them special."

Lyra was stunned, she was sure Lucas was serious about what he said. But how could he have absolutely no affection for his brothers who had been with him all his life?

"But I think it's quite strange, you all grew up together since childhood and went through ups and downs together. So how could you-"

"Unfortunately I didn't live in the same house with them until my father died."

"What do you mean?"

"I grew up in the main house with my father and my mother, while the six of them were raised in separate houses. I only met them if my father let me and that only happened no more than five times a year. We met more often after I changed roles of my father is the head of the family and also the leader of all the businesses he owns."

This time Lyra really ran out of words to say. She didn't understand what this family's true background was and why there were so many strange things happening. But at least now she had found the reason why Keith was so hurt when Lucas said that he wasn't important enough.

"I'm sure they actually love you too and-"

"Lyra, I think you already know a lot and me letting you know this far doesn't mean you can ask me for everything. I want you to know your limits and you don't need to think about them too much."

"But I-"

"About Keith, he was destined to be like that. So, you shouldn't get too carried away. He can change at any time and he will get bored very quickly if he can get something he is chasing so easily."

"I-I don't understand what you're saying, I just-" Lyra stammered. Lucas seemed to already know what she was planning in her head and it made her feel embarrassed.

Lucas stared at her with a cold gaze and then stepped over to her who was starting to feel uneasy with feelings of shame and guilt.

Lucas stood before her, intimidating her with just his gaze. Lyra held her breath, for some reason she suddenly felt it was difficult to breathe as if there was a stone stuck in her chest.

Lucas touched her chin and gave her a kiss on the lips. Lyra felt that the surface of her lips tasted so sweet as if Lucas had smeared the entire surface of her lips with honey.

"I've told you before, do whatever you want to do. But don't ever think that I'll never find out. If it's in your heart to choose Keith, go ahead. Don't ever think that I'll beg you to stay with me. You understand?"

Lucas moved out of his room and left Lyra silent in there with all the bad thoughts that came into her head. She didn't know how she could calm down after realizing that Lucas probably already knew everything she did, including about the offer Keith made to her as well as Aiden's blood rose that Keith had picked for her.

She felt that she was in serious trouble. Lucas and his six siblings are clearly not as ordinary humans as they seem. There is something different about them that makes them look very scary even though they are not doing anything dangerous.

"Demons? Impossible, something like that can't possibly exist in this world. But, who are they really?"
