Backup Plan

Lyra stood in the doorway, waiting for Lucas' reaction for making her wait long enough to have dinner together. Lyra felt nervous, after she observed that the seven Schneider brothers were gathered at one dining table and that made her feel even more anxious.

Lucien glanced at her with a smile. He looked as if he wanted to greet Lyra, but because the situation seemed less conducive, he thought better of it.

He sat near Lucas and he could feel that Lucas wasn't in a good mood. If any of them made a small mistake, it would definitely trigger Lucas to forget his emotions.

"Lucas, I'm so sorry for-"

"Lucas? Did you just call him Lucas?" Aiden immediately interrupted with a hint of obvious anger. Lyra immediately covered her mouth, she really didn't dare to face Aiden, who showed his hatred for her too openly.

Lucas looked at her coldly, he didn't react at all. Just be quiet, watch and listen to other people talking. It was very difficult to guess his thoughts and for his brothers, his position was too high for them to surpass him.

At one point, Lyra feels something is wrong with the way they relate to each other. Even though they claim that the seven of them are siblings, their faces, attitudes and personalities are completely opposite. Apart from that, the bond they show is too formal, it looks more like the bond between an alpha and his pack, rather than a normal family relationship.

"I'm sorry, I really-"

"Sit down and enjoy your food!" Lucas said as if he didn't want to prolong the problem.

Lyra swallowed hard, she felt very guilty towards Lucas. A few moments ago, she had said something stupid to Keith about Keith wanting to have a relationship with him, so Keith was determined to pick Aiden's blood rose. She thought that she should stick to her initial goal of conquering Lucas instead of making a backup plan by dating one of Lucas' younger siblings just to maintain her status as a socialite woman who was used to luxury.

She thought that if she couldn't win Lucas' heart, having a relationship with one of his brothers didn't seem so bad, considering that she definitely couldn't go back to Jonathan and live with him anymore.

She didn't want to go back to being ex poor village girl who worked in a bar to entertain philandering men just to earn a little money. She wants to continue living in a mansion or luxury apartment that has complete facilities and lots of servants who can serve her needs.

"No, I can't give up before I really try harder. I think too much about unimportant things that I forget the plan I should have prepared to melt Lucas' heart so that he really falls in love with me. I'm sorry, Keith. I still haven't given up on Lucas." She thought. She took a slow breath and exhaled. She tried to enter seductress mode to attract Lucas' attention.

"I'm sorry for making you wait, master!" She said softly as she sat in her chair.

She glanced at Lucas who seemed reluctant to look at her face and chose to focus on the food on his plate. Seeing her flirtatious behavior, Keith laughed until he almost choked.

"Hahaha...what are you doing? Why are you suddenly acting cute like this?" Keith asked. He laughed and the sound of his laughter sounded quite disturbing.

"You're laughing too loud, Keith! Calm down a bit!" Said Levi who immediately rebuked him. However, Keith, who is stubborn, seems quite difficult to listen to other people's advice.

"Come on, what's wrong with you guys? What's wrong with laughing a little? You're all too serious, lighten up a little. Isn't that right, Miss Lyra?" Keith chirped while showing Lyra a special signal.

"I'm just a guest here, so I'm just following the host's policy!" Lyra said. She didn't want Keith to influence her again like before.

Aiden, Gavin, Lucien, Jacob and Levi, who had been feeling the bad atmosphere surrounding Lucas for a long time, were unable to act like Keith. They glanced at Lucas who was still unmoved by Keith's actions.

But when Lucas turned his head to the front and allowed them all to look into his dark eyes, they knew that great danger would soon occur if Keith was not stopped immediately.

"So, Miss Lyra. When will Lucas ask you out? If he's too busy for that, I'm ready to take his place!" Keith was still talking as if he didn't care at all about the situation.

Lyra was surprised by Keith's words. She didn't expect Keith to be so forward to show his wishes. She turned to Lucas who was clearly not in a good condition. Even though he was silent, everyone could feel his anger, except Keith, who didn't care about anything.

"Keith, I-"

"What's wrong, Lyra? Don't you think I'm more attractive than my brother?"

"Hey Keith, that's enough! You better stop talking!" Aiden started to act. As someone who obeyed Lucas the most, he tried to stop the nonsense Keith was saying.

"What's wrong, Aiden? Are you jealous? Don't tell me you also want to try spending the night with Lyra."
