The Killing Gaze

Lyra was still looking at the blood rose that Keith gave her 30 minutes ago. For some reason, she felt increasingly worried, Aiden would probably soon realize that the blood rose he had been guarding was no longer in its place and when he found out that the rose was in Lyra's hands, he would definitely be very angry.

"Oh my gosh, what did I actually do? Why did I ask Keith for something stupid? I didn't expect him to actually pick it up." She thought. Her self-confidence, which had just risen after she was sure that Lucas' heart was open to her, was instantly destroyed.

Just because of a moment of pride, she even asked for something stupid. This rose was indeed very charming, but if owning it would get her into trouble, she would choose not to have it at all.

Knock...knock...knock...

There was a knock on her bedroom door, she just realized that 10 minutes ago, Kerry had just come and asked her to immediately go to the dining room to have dinner with Lucas and his siblings.

Hastily, Lyra walked towards the door after simply placing the rose on her dressing table. She opened the door after making sure that her expression looked calm enough so that no one would suspect her.

But instead of Kerry or another servant coming to see her, the face of the person she feared most appeared just as she opened the door.

"A-Aiden?" She said confusedly. She did not expect that this feeling of anxiety and dark aura that felt so torturous actually came from Aiden who was standing in front of her room door.

As she had feared, Aiden stood like a medieval knight statue, cold, stiff and staring at her with a murderous gaze. Lyra shuddered, fear that was almost at its peak made her almost button her pants.

Aiden remained silent for 10 seconds, leaving Lyra with her feelings of fear that made her feel suffocated. Lyra thought that if Aiden tried to enter her room only to see the blood rose she had placed on the table, she would scream at the top of her lungs.

"W-what business have you come here for?"

"Lucas asked you to go to the dining room immediately. It's best not to make him wait any longer than this!" He said in his deep voice.

Lyra swallowed hard, she was sure Aiden was not human because there was very thick darkness surrounding his body like fog.

"O-okay, I'll be right there."

"I want to ask something and I want you to answer my question honestly."

"W-what do you want to ask? I-I-"

"Do you know where the only blood-red rose in the garden went?" Aiden asked. He stared into Lyra's eyes so intensely that he almost didn't blink.

"I'm dead," she thought. She couldn't believe that Aiden had realized that the rose had disappeared from the garden and Aiden immediately came to meet her because she seemed to be the only person who was most suspicious.

Lyra was stunned, she didn't know what answer she should give Aiden because Aiden didn't seem like the type of person who would listen to other people's reasons. He is too selfish and cruel to understand anyone.

"I don't know." The answer just came out of her mouth. Even though her conscience refused to lie, she didn't know any other way to deal with Aiden.

Aiden turned his gaze into the room and that made Lyra even more scared. What was even more unfortunate was that she just put the flowers on the table and if Aiden saw it, she would definitely be caught lying and big problems would happen to her.

After glancing into the room from the gap between the door and Lyra's body, Aiden returned his gaze to Lyra who was almost dead standing in front of him.

"Okay, if it turns out you know something but refuse to tell me. You will feel the consequences yourself." He said as he left. Either because she was afraid after being threatened or because she was still curious about Aiden's figure, she subconsciously grabbed Aiden's hand before Aideh actually left her.

"W-wait-"

Aiden stopped walking and turned his face back to wait for the reason why Lyra stopped him like this.

"What?"

"T-that, I-I wanted to ask if there weren't those flowers in the garden?"

"If I came here to see you, it would definitely be because the flower is no longer in its place."

"I-is that so? W-what a shame, isn't it? Even though the flowers are very beautiful."

"Damn it, what am I talking about? Stupid, you better keep your mouth shut, Lyra!" She shouted in her heart. She wanted to cry and scream because of her stupidity.

Aiden stared at her without blinking as if suspecting something. Lyra swallowed again and this time she felt her throat was very dry. She hoped that Aiden would leave immediately and forget the stupid words she had just said.

As she expected, Aiden didn't say anything. He walked away again and the sound of his footsteps getting further away made Lyra's heart race slower than before.

"He's gone? Oh my God, I almost died before he even killed me. How could a human have such a terrifying aura like him? This is simply unreasonable."
