Chapter 82

Chapter 82

Hearing Calvin's words, Alexander looked hesitant and asked, "What does this have to do with Charlotte?"

Calvin sounded certain. "She fooled us all before. We had no idea she was capable of this."

"First, she used the video to ruin the launch event. Then she knew the Forbes Group would definitely step in to suppress the buzz, so she bribed her high school classmates in advance to give false testimony and stir up another wave of attention."

"It's terrible! She's so vicious—she clearly wants to destroy Sabrina! No wonder Sabrina suffered so much because of her before."

Before Alexander could respond, Sabrina looked at Calvin in disbelief. "No, Charlotte wouldn't do this to me."

Calvin said with frustration, "She's never treated you like a sister."

On this point, Alexander agreed.

He thought for a moment and said, "Don't worry, I'll go find Charlotte and sort this out."

With Alexander's repeated reassurances, Sabrina seemed somewhat relieved.

He and Calvin took turns comforting her for a while. Only after she appeared to fall into a deep sleep did they feel comfortable leaving the hospital room.

But the moment they disappeared beyond the doorway, Sabrina suddenly opened her eyes.

The Forbes Group video incident that morning had already upset her enough.

But then things got worse—a verified high school classmate came forward to clear Charlotte's name!

Back then, she had used the excuse of being "bullied" by Charlotte to gain Alexander's sympathy, which allowed her to get closer to him step by step.

If he found out she had lied to him back then...

So she hardened her heart and made a move first.

As long as Alexander believed her first, confronting Charlotte would only deepen the conflict between them.

Once things spiraled out of control, she could find a chance to get Calvin to take responsibility and clear her name online.

In the hospital corridor outside.

Calvin urgently told Alexander, "Alexander, you have to believe Sabrina and help her clear things up."

Alexander gave a nod.

But Calvin still looked worried and said, "Actually, there's something I didn't tell you."

"I was the one who posted that thing about Charlotte before, but I swear it had nothing to do with Sabrina—it was entirely my idea!"

Alexander replied noncommittally, "I know."

Calvin looked surprised. "You know?"

Alexander glanced at him and said, "Yes, I know."

"But that's not important right now. What's important is convincing Charlotte to come forward and clear things up so we can't let this affect Sabrina's future. After all, she's the future of the Forbes Group."

Calvin looked confused and asked, "What do you mean, the future of the Forbes Group?"

"Don't worry about that. Just watch over Sabrina. I'll be right back."

After saying that, Alexander quickly left the hospital.

At the apartment complex.

After the three of them finished eating, Charlotte noticed Philip had eaten quite a lot, so she suggested they go downstairs for a walk to aid digestion.

Actually, over the past few days, worried about being attacked by crazy online haters, Charlotte had stayed inside unless necessary. She had been wanting to go for a walk.

Jenna saw right through Charlotte's thoughts and immediately agreed.

Philip naturally followed wherever Charlotte went.

So the three of them quickly agreed and went downstairs for a walk.

Now that public opinion online had completely reversed, with almost everyone on Charlotte's side, she no longer needed to worry about being harassed or disguising herself when going out like before.

So Charlotte was in high spirits, holding Philip with one hand and linking arms with Jenna with the other as they walked along the tree-lined path, enjoying the long-lost peace.

But the happy moment was ruined the instant she saw Alexander.

"Charlotte, can we talk?"

Before Charlotte could speak, Jenna rushed up to Alexander and put her hands on her hips.

"What, not staying with your Sabrina? What are you doing here looking for Charlotte of all people?"

Alexander looked past her straight at Charlotte. "I want to talk to you alone."

Charlotte’s expression remained cold. "I don't think we have anything to talk about."

Jenna said gleefully, "Did you hear that? Mr. Forbes, please leave."

Alexander looked at Charlotte deeply. "Twenty-six days left. You don't want any problems during this time, do you?"

Was he actually threatening her with the official divorce?

Charlotte took a deep breath and said, "Fine. Five minutes."

Hearing Charlotte give in, Jenna reluctantly glared at Alexander before slowly backing away.

Alexander and Charlotte walked one after the other toward a corner.

Charlotte stopped first and said coolly, "Let's talk here."

Looking at Charlotte's unusually cold expression, Alexander suddenly felt uneasy, but for Sabrina's sake, he chose not to argue with her for now.

"Come with meto the media and clarify things. Sabrina can't bear this kind of blame."

Charlotte let out a light laugh.

So he knew the consequences of being cyberbullied and also knew to clarify things to the media.

But when Calvin and Sabrina posted about her before, causing her to be cyberbullied and attacked, what did he do then?

He just stood there with Owen and Sabrina, watching her get attacked by those haters... and then asked her if she knew what she had done wrong.

Seeing Charlotte remain silent, Alexander seemed to lose patience and reached out to grab her.

Charlotte snapped back and pulled her hand away, saying, "Clarify? Aren't you being a bit naive?"

Alexander’s expression darkened as he said, "Sabrina tried to kill herself at the hospital just now. Luckily she was saved."

Charlotte's lips curved into a faint smile. "She didn't die? What a shame."

"Charlotte!" Alexander shouted. "When did you become so vicious?"

"I'm vicious?"

Charlotte stared coldly at Alexander, "Who cyberbullied me first? Or are you saying I forced Sabrina to try to kill herself?"

Seemingly aware he was in the wrong, Alexander fell silent for a moment before speaking again. "Then what will it take for you to agree to clarify?"

Charlotte let out an angry laugh. "Alexander, are you deaf or stupid? Can't you understand? Those videos are the truth. Clarify? Impossible."

Alexander pressed his lips together and said, "I can give you another hundred million."

Charlotte's eyes were full of mockery as she said, "I thought you valued Sabrina so much, but it turns out she's only worth a hundred million to you?"

Alexander gritted his teeth and said, "Three hundred million. How about that?"

Charlotte let out a cold sneer inwardly.

For Sabrina's sake, Alexander didn't even blink before offering three hundred million. How “generous.”

But she had married him for seven whole years, taken care of him for seven years, and in the end only received a few hundred thousand.

Not even enough to hire a housekeeper.

She really had been a pitiful Mrs. Forbes.

So Charlotte gave a self-mocking laugh and said, "No."

"How much money do you want? Just name your price."

"How generous of you." Charlotte clapped her hands with a smile. "Then I won't make it hard for you—I'll take ten billion."

Alexander let out a sharp gasp.

But when he saw the deep mockery in Charlotte's eyes, he immediately realized that Charlotte was playing with him!

"Charlotte, how long are you going to keep this up? You're doing all this just to force me to give in and stay away from Sabrina, right? Fine! As long as you help Sabrina clear her name, I'll agree to anything."

Charlotte let out a scoff.

She was truly annoyed by Alexander's narcissism and said, "What is Sabrina to me? What are you to me? Alexander, you can stay with her all you want—it has nothing to do with me at all."

"You're still being stubborn?"

Alexander gritted his teeth and said, "Fine! If you don't care about your relationship with Sabrina, then what about Jenna? Don't you care about her either?"
