Chapter 28

Chapter 28

But Calvin rushed forward and blocked her path. "If you hadn't pushed Sabrina, how could she have suddenly fallen into the water?"

Charlotte remained calm. "How would I know why she suddenly fell into the water? Why don't you go ask her again?"

Calvin ground his teeth in anger. "Don't get cocky! If you really did harm Sabrina, even Alexander can't protect you."

Charlotte tilted her chin toward Alexander. "Is that so, Mr. Forbes?"

Alexander didn't respond, but there was a hint of scrutiny in his eyes as he looked at Charlotte.

Clearly, regarding Sabrina's fall into the water, he didn't completely believe Charlotte was innocent.

After all, no one would willingly throw themselves into a pond.

Calvin then grabbed Owen by the arm. "Owen, didn't you just say you saw her push Sabrina with your own eyes?"

Owen instinctively glanced at Charlotte.

But Charlotte looked completely composed, meeting his gaze directly without dodging or avoiding.

As their eyes met, a trace of unease suddenly appeared on Owen's tense little face...

Just as he was about to speak after much hesitation, Sabrina suddenly said, "Forget it, let's just drop this matter."

"Owen is still young. We shouldn't drag him into our adult affairs."

But Calvin wouldn't let it go. "No way! We have to get to the bottom of this today, or who knows what she'll do to you next time?"

Charlotte suddenly seemed in no hurry to leave. "How strange."

"I said I didn't push her, and Sabrina didn't say I pushed her either, but you all keep insisting I pushed her."

Calvin had thoroughly learned today just how good Charlotte was with words.

But he still wasn't willing to give up, wanting to fight for some justice for Sabrina. "Sabrina, say something! Tell everyone that Charlotte pushed you!"

Charlotte was right—if Sabrina didn't personally accuse her, nothing anyone else said would matter.

On the other side, Sabrina was secretly fuming... Calvin really was an idiot.

She had wanted to gloss over the matter vaguely like before, so Alexander would completely turn against Charlotte, but with Calvin pushing like this, she had no choice but to take a stance.

She took a deep breath and was about to speak when someone knocked on the hospital room door.

Then Landon, exuding nobility, walked in holding Philip's hand.

"Charlotte! Are you okay?"

As soon as he saw Charlotte, Philip ran over and hugged her tightly.

Charlotte's heart warmed, but she looked apologetically at Landon. "Mr. Landon Forbes, I'm sorry for having to ask you to take care of Philip."

She had received a full six million one hundred thousand from Landon and had promised to take good care of Philip.

But it was only the second day, and because she'd been targeted by Sabrina, she had to leave Philip in Landon’s care again.
Landon's expression relaxed. "It's fine, you had no choice."

The thoughtful Philip immediately tried to comfort Charlotte, too. "Charlotte, you've already taken very good care of me..."

Before he could finish, a sudden force struck.

Poor Philip was completely unprepared and was pushed down by Owen, falling hard to the ground.

Charlotte was shocked and quickly helped him up. "Philip, are you okay?"

He shook his head while biting his lip, tears threatening to fall. "I'm fine, but my hand really hurts."

Yet Owen stood there with his hands on his hips, looking completely self-righteous. "She's my mom, not yours! I won't let you hug her."

After glaring at Owen, Charlotte quickly bent down to check on Philip.

Sure enough, his elbow was scraped, with traces of blood seeping through.

Charlotte felt a pang of distress. "Philip, come on, I'll take you to find a doctor to treat it."

"You can't go! I'm your real son, I won't let you take care of him!" Owen spread his arms, blocking Charlotte's path.

Charlotte was both angry and amused. "Owen, apologize to Philip."

But Owen crossed his arms and pouted. "I won't!"

Alexander seemed a bit embarrassed. "Owen, stop making a scene."

Then Landon, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up. "Philip's injury isn't serious. After all, I came here mainly because I have something I want to show everyone."

After successfully drawing everyone's attention to himself, Landon took out his phone. "Regarding what happened in the garden, I happen to have a video."

"A video?" Sabrina, who had been lying in bed, suddenly struggled to sit up. "Really? There's surveillance by the pond, too? That's wonderful—this can finally clear Charlotte's name!"

Alexander quickly walked over and pressed her back onto the bed. "Don't get excited. The doctor said you must rest properly."

Then he turned to Landon with a meaningful look. "I remember there's no surveillance installed around the pond area?"

Where no one could see, Sabrina quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Actually, before setting up her scheme to frame Charlotte, she had already checked—there was no surveillance around the pond, which was why she had taken the gamble! She wanted to destroy Charlotte's reputation in front of all the Forbes family members and then take her place.

But she hadn't expected Landon to be so cunning, trying to scare her with something that didn't exist.

Fortunately, Alexander had immediately exposed his trick.

Just as she was secretly feeling pleased, Sabrina suddenly felt a chill and realized Landon was looking at her with a half-smile.

Only after Sabrina slightly turned her face away did Landon unhurriedly unlock his phone. "There's indeed no surveillance around the pond, but..."
