Chapter 138

Chapter 138

Seeing this, the staff member waved his hand smugly. "You guys, take this troublemaker out."

Two security guards immediately rushed up to Charlotte, looking threatening. "Miss, are you leaving on your own? Or do we throw you out?"

Charlotte looked at them coldly. "I just want an explanation."

One of the guards sneered. "In that case, don't blame us for being rude!"

"Get her!"

With that command, the two guards were about to grab Charlotte.

At that critical moment, a voice suddenly came from the doorway, "Everyone stop!"

Seeing who had arrived, the staff member and guards panicked. "Mr. Wood, what brings you here?"

Keith ignored them completely and walked straight to Charlotte. "Charlotte, are you okay?"

From the moment Charlotte saw Keith appear, she had already stood up.

Now, she shook her head gently as she replied, "Keith, I'm fine."

Hearing how Charlotte addressed Keith, the staff member and guards became even more panicked, running up to Keith one after another to explain.

"Mr. Wood, it's not what it looks like."

"Mr. Wood, we didn't know anything. John told us to do it."

"Yes, John told us to do it."

Keith stared coldly at the staff member called John. "Tell me, what's really going on?"

John flinched, then reluctantly explained, "I had already submitted Ms. Spencer's materials, but Mr. Turner said Ms. Spencer didn't meet the registration requirements and told me to return the materials."

Keith held out his hand. "Give me Charlotte's materials."

John quickly handed over all of Charlotte's materials to Keith.

But Keith grew angrier as he read, his fingers trembling with rage. "Which rule of the competition states that applicants' studio registration address must be at least 150 square meters?"

"And which rule says applicants must have a design degree?"

"Have you all forgotten what our competition stands for?"

Keith got more worked up as he spoke, finally pointing at John. "Hand over your work right now. Don't bother coming in tomorrow!"

Then pointing at the two guards, he said, "And you two, all your bonuses for this month are deducted!"

John's face turned pale. He opened his mouth but didn't dare say anything more, slinking away.

The two guards secretly breathed a sigh of relief, apologized to Charlotte, and quickly returned to their posts.

Only then did Keith's expression soften slightly. He turned to comfort Charlotte. "Charlotte, you should head back. Leave the registration to me, don't worry."

Charlotte nodded but asked a question. "Keith, how did you know about this?"

Keith didn't answer directly, only saying reproachfully, "You had a problem and didn't even think to come to me. Guess you don't consider me one of your own?"

Charlotte shook her head as she replied, "That's not true. I just didn't want to keep bothering you guys."

Keith looked disgusted. "Go on, I've got this handled."

Charlotte smiled playfully, which was rare for her. "So I'm leaving?"

Keith closed his eyes and waved his hand. "Go already."

But just as Charlotte reached the door, Keith called out to her. "I just got an invitation. The Forbes Group is holding an anniversary celebration next month and invited Nova to attend. Do you want to come with me?"

Charlotte smiled at him and replied, "I'll think about it."

Keith jokingly scolded, "You little rascal."

After watching Charlotte leave, Keith looked down at the materials in his hand, bit his lip, and stormed upstairs in anger.

Shortly after returning home, Charlotte received a call from the Design Association.

They told her she had successfully entered the preliminary round, and to wait for further notice about the results.

After hanging up, Charlotte looked down at her phone. There was a video quietly sitting there, with the Design Association office building in the background.

Almost at the same time, Sabrina also received a call from Quentin.

"What? You're saying Charlotte actually managed to register?" Sabrina couldn't believe it.

Quentin let out a scoff as he replied, "Yeah, I don't know where she got the confidence to insist on registering. And she even got that idiot Keith involved."

Hearing the mockery in Quentin's voice, Sabrina relaxed. "Does Charlotte really think that being able to draw a few pictures means she can win the design competition? How naive!"

Quentin laughed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Don't worry, she's nowhere near your level. The championship will be yours."

After hanging up, Sabrina thought for a moment and called Calvin.

"Calvin, Charlotte has registered for the national design competition."

On the phone, Calvin laughed without restraint. "What did you say? Charlotte is entering the design competition? Did I hear that right?"

Sabrina stamped her foot. "I'm not joking with you. Charlotte really has registered for the design competition."

Calvin could tell Sabrina seemed a bit upset so he quickly stopped laughing. "But why would she register? Isn't she afraid of embarrassing herself?"

Only then did Sabrina start analyzing in a fake concerned manner. "I'm guessing she just wants to use the competition to get Alexander's attention, then trick him into changing his mind and withdrawing the divorce application."

Calvin started cursing before she even finished. "Charlotte really has no shame!"

But Sabrina sighed softly. "Actually, if she doesn't want the divorce, she could just say so. Why use so many tricks?"

"Can't a woman survive without a man?"

Calvin comforted her. "You think everyone is as kind, innocent, independent, and capable as you? Charlotte has plenty of tricks up her sleeve."

Sabrina couldn't help but feel a gush of worry as she said, "Then what do we do? There are only three days left until Charlotte and Alexander's official divorce. Who knows what else Charlotte might do? I'm so worried."

Calvin suddenly went quiet.

When he spoke again, his voice carried a hint of malice. "Don't worry, she probably won't have the energy to cause trouble."

Sabrina was secretly delighted, but she still put on a worried look. "Calvin, she's still my sister. Don't do anything rash."

Calvin snorted coldly, "With Landon protecting her now, it's not easy to go after her directly."

"But she has that good friend Jenna, doesn't she? We can go after Jenna!"

After quietly putting down her phone, Sabrina looked at the view outside the floor-to-ceiling window and smiled coldly.

'Charlotte, you think registering for the competition will get Alexander's attention? You're too naive! As long as I'm here, you're destined to become a laughingstock,' she thought.

Suddenly, an assistant knocked and entered. "Ms. Spencer, Mr. Forbes is asking for you."

The Forbes Group CEO's office.

Sabrina looked surprised and delighted, her eyes seemingly filled with starlight as she looked at Alexander. "Alexander, what's going on? Why is the exhibition moved up to tomorrow?"

Alexander patted her shoulder. "I promised I would take good care of you."

"Since the design competition is just around the corner, hosting the exhibition now will help bolster your reputation and influence beforehand."

Alexander didn't need to say another word; Sabrina understood his meaning perfectly.
"Thank you, Alexander!"

Overjoyed, Sabrina lunged forward and threw her arms around Alexander.
Alexander’s frame tensed at the sudden contact.
