Chapter 133

Chapter 133

Alexander winced in pain and let go.

"Alexander, if you're sick, go see a doctor!"

After spitting those words at him furiously, Charlotte grabbed Philip and left.

Alexander clutched his injury, staring in disbelief at Charlotte's retreating figure. "Charlotte, get back here!"

Charlotte let out a heavy breath and walked even faster.

Finally reaching the car, Charlotte was about to help Philip in when a male voice suddenly came from behind.

"Charlotte."

It didn't sound like Alexander.

Charlotte paused slightly and instinctively turned around.

Jordan wore a white casual outfit, his glasses spotless and his gaze lowered. Against the backdrop of passersby, he looked like a prince from a fairy tale.

He stood with one hand in his pocket, the other holding a cute little girl with pigtails. A faint smile graced his clean-cut face.

"Jordan? What are you doing here?"

Jordan smiled warmly and glanced down at the little girl beside him. "I happened to be free today, so I came to pick up my niece."

"Lily, this is Charlotte. Say hello."

Lily Romanov gave Charlotte a sweet smile. "Hi Charlotte! My name is Lily, and I'm five years old."

Looking at the adorable Lily, Charlotte felt like she'd eaten cotton candy—her heart soft and sweet.

She couldn't help reaching out to gently tug Lily's pigtail. "Hello, Lily."

Watching this scene, Jordan smiled.

Before parting, Charlotte suddenly remembered what Alexander had said earlier.

"Jordan, I want to ask you something."

Jordan continued smiling warmly and harmlessly. "Go ahead."

Since he was so straightforward, Charlotte didn't hold back. "Have you seen Alexander and Sabrina these past few days?"

Jordan nodded. "Yes, Alexander brought Sabrina to the hospital a couple days ago and asked me to examine her."

"Did you find anything wrong?"

Charlotte felt a bit presumptuous after asking and quickly explained, "It's nothing really, just that Alexander said you seemed impatient with Sabrina."

At the mention of Sabrina, Jordan's smile faded slightly. "I treat all patients the same."

"If Sabrina thinks I was impatient with her, it's probably because I didn't pamper her like Alexander does."

Charlotte understood. "I see."

She probed further. "So the test results came back? Sabrina's okay, right?"

Seeming to sense Charlotte's probing, Jordan asked back, "What do you think could be wrong with her?"

Charlotte hesitated. "Alexander told me Sabrina might only have six months to live."

Jordan smiled noncommittally. "Do you believe that? I don't."

Charlotte's mouth slowly dropped open. "You mean there's nothing wrong with Sabrina's health?"

Jordan nodded definitively. "I can guarantee she's perfectly fine."

Just as Charlotte suspected, Sabrina wasn't sick at all. She was just using it as an excuse to gain Alexander's sympathy, then find an opportunity to push for their divorce.

The ridiculous part was that Alexander, that fool, believed her completely.

But who cares?

A few minutes later, after watching Charlotte's car drive away, Jordan stood there for a while longer before reluctantly picking up Lily and walking toward where he'd parked.

Lily held her newly bought snacks in one hand and gently wrapped her other arm around Jordan's neck, asking in a sweet childlike voice, "Jordan, will you come pick me up tomorrow too?"

Jordan thought for a moment. "If I'm free, I'll come."

Lily asked again, "Will you wait for Charlotte again?"

Jordan froze.

Were his feelings that obvious? Even a five-year-old could tell.

But what about Charlotte? She probably didn't notice, right?

Looks like he'd need to be more careful from now on.

Meanwhile, as soon as Charlotte left, Sabrina hurried out from around the corner.

She supported Alexander with a worried expression. "Alexander, where are you hurt? Does it hurt badly?"

Alexander finally caught his breath and stared painfully in the direction Charlotte had gone. "Charlotte actually kicked me? One day I'll make her regret it!"

Sabrina quickly put on a look of disbelief. "Charlotte actually kicked you? That's too much."

"Even though she's my sister, I won't speak up for her this time."

Hearing Sabrina's words, Alexander's anger subsided somewhat. "I don't know why she's become like this."

"Looks like we'll have to find another opportunity for Jordan and the clinic matter."

Sabrina didn't seem worried at all about treating her condition. Instead, she comforted Alexander. "Alexander, you've already done so much for me. Don't worry about the rest."

Hearing her words, Alexander felt an indescribable feeling in his heart. "Sabrina, if only I had persisted back then..."

Watching Alexander trail off, Sabrina moved closer understandingly. "Alexander, you know I've never blamed you."

Meeting Sabrina's affectionate gaze, Alexander felt momentarily lost.

He raised his hand as if to embrace her, but stopped mid-motion. "Sabrina, I will make it up to you."

Disappointment flashed in Sabrina's eyes.

But she quickly masked her emotions and obediently tightened her grip on Alexander's arm.

'Charlotte, just keep acting up. As long as you keep this up, one day Alexander will definitely accept me,' she thought.

Four days later would be the day Charlotte and Alexander officially divorced, but Jenna had a sudden whim to celebrate early for Charlotte.

Unable to refuse Jenna's kindness, Charlotte agreed, and at noon that , the two went arm in arm to enjoy a seafood feast.

Full and satisfied, they had just walked out of the restaurant when they ran right into someone.
