Chapter 105

Chapter 105

In the end, Quentin swallowed his pride and put on a fake smile: "Charlotte, Lynn and I are alumni. I was just joking with you earlier. Why take it so seriously?"

Charlotte raised her eyebrows.

Quentin had challenged her repeatedly and obviously favored Sabrina.

But what he absolutely shouldn't have done was mock and belittle Lynn. This was something she could never tolerate.

Charlotte smiled at Quentin. "Your fellow alumna, Miss Spencer, just lost her bet...and handed over her watch. You're not going to be worse than Miss Spencer, are you?"

Quentin was left speechless by this.

Charlotte sneered as she looked him over, then raised her head to address the surrounding crowd, raising her voice slightly.

"Quentin, there should be quite a few people here today who've worked with you, right? If they see you going back on your word like this, do you think they'll dare to work with you in the future?"

Quentin glared at Charlotte, a flash of malice in his eyes: "You dare?"

Charlotte met his gaze directly without any fear: "Quentin, have you decided?"

Among the onlookers, there were indeed many who had worked with Quentin.

If Quentin dared to back out and go back on his word, it would definitely affect his personal credibility and future business partnerships.

Quentin gritted his teeth and finally looked unwillingly at Sabrina, hoping she would step forward to help him out, since this whole thing started because of her.

But Sabrina kept her head down, directly avoiding his gaze.

He looked at Alexander again.

But Alexander was still looking at Charlotte's drawing, seemingly completely unaware of what was happening here.

With the constant murmuring around him, Quentin's facial muscles twitched continuously, and finally he squeezed out words from his throat with great difficulty.

"Charlotte, I was wrong. I'm sorry."

Charlotte glanced at him coolly: "What about my mother?"

Quentin’s fleshy face flushed a deep crimsonas he gritted his teeth: "I'm sorry to Lynn. I shouldn't have dragged her into this. I'm sorry to her."

Charlotte: "What are you saying? Speak louder, my mother can't hear you."

Quentin nearly ground his teeth to dust: "Lynn, I'm sorry! I was wrong!"

Charlotte smiled with satisfaction.

Seeing Quentin's embarrassed state, the people around couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Quentin felt nothing but shame and anger.

His face burned as if he'd been slapped hard several times.

He didn't even need to look up to feel the kind of looks people were giving him.

"I have things to do. I'll leave first."

With that, Quentin left with a dark expression, stumbling through the crowd and fleeing in embarrassment.

Watching his retreating figure, Jenna spat: "Good thing he knows better."

Seeing Quentin's defeat, Sabrina felt an indescribable mix of emotions.

Shock, jealousy, disbelief, and even embarrassment!

Although Charlotte's painting method was strange, she really did complete it, and beautifully at that.

When did she learn to paint?

Did Lynn secretly teach her in private?

That poisonous woman Lynn—clearly Sabrina had more design talent than Charlotte, yet because of emotional complications, she refused to teach Sabrina.

Such a petty woman deserved to be angered to death!

A shadow suddenly fell over her: "Sabrina, the watch."

It was Charlotte's voice.

This time Sabrina could no longer avoid it. She had to grit her teeth and pretend to be casual as she handed over the watch: "Charlotte, here's the watch. Take it."

Finally getting back her mother's belonging, Charlotte looked at it with great care.

Seeing Charlotte completely focused on the watch, Calvin felt relieved and tried to sneak away quietly.

But after just two steps, someone grabbed him from behind: "You haven't apologized yet. Where do you think you're going?"

Calvin ground his teeth and turned to glare at Jenna.

But Jenna wasn't scared at all, just crossed her arms: "Hurry up, everyone's waiting."

Hearing the muffled laughter from the crowd, Calvin nearly ground his teeth to powder!

He stared hard at Jenna, his face flushed red and twitching violently, before finally taking out his phone and posting an apology on social media.

Seeing the apology trending online, everyone finally couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.

At that moment, Calvin wanted to die.

Putting away his phone, he didn't even dare to look up, keeping his head down in silence.

Seeing him like this, Sabrina disgustedly stepped away two steps, turning her face away, not wanting to even look at him.

As for Alexander, who knows what he was thinking? He completely ignored the matter.

But Cynthia, unable to stand seeing Charlotte succeed, snorted sarcastically: "She just got lucky once.. Does she need to be so arrogant?"

Knowing Cynthia was hostile toward Charlotte, Jenna didn't hold back: "True, some people want to be arrogant but don't even have the chance."

Cynthia's face flushed with anger.

Jenna snorted and rolled her eyes at her.

At this point, the director, eager to smooth things over, quickly invited the two judges back to their seats and announced the awards ceremony would begin.

Watching Charlotte triumphant on stage, Sabrina nearly bit through her lip.

'Charlotte, what good is knowing how to paint? When it comes to design, you'll never match me!' she thought.

After the ceremony, Charlotte was about to leave when the two remaining judges came up to greet her.

Especially the judge named Trevor Wright, who had always admired Lynn and was long dissatisfied with Quentin. He patted his chest and promised he could help get Charlotte admitted to a prestigious domestic design school, so her talent wouldn't be wasted.

Charlotte was about to politely decline when Cynthia nearby snorted heavily: "I really didn't know university standards had gotten so low."

"Didn't even finish high school, and just with one broken painting, she thinks she can go to college? Isn't she afraid of being laughed at?"

Her own family member had brought honor, yet Cynthia showed no joy or pride, only cold sarcasm.

The onlookers were stunned and began secretly speculating about Cynthia and Charlotte's relationship.

Trevor couldn't stand it and couldn't help mocking Cynthia: "Mrs. Cynthia Forbes, you're not jealous, are you?"

Not expecting a mere designer to dare mock her, Cynthia's expression darkened: "It's not your place to comment on what I say."

Charlotte didn't want Trevor to be implicated because of her, so she quickly retorted to Cynthia: "Well, whether I go to college isn't for you to interfere with either."

Seeing Cynthia trembling with anger, Charlotte smiled even more: "Besides, I already won."

"Instead of arguing here, why don't you spend more time properly educating your own family?"

"Rather than resenting others' success and being jealous of their excellence, you'd be better off spending time improving yourself and learning how to be a decent person."

"Mrs. Forbes, am I right?"

Charlotte leveled a pointed gaze at Owen

Owen's face turned bright red. He wanted to say something but ultimately said nothing.

Philip had been staying close to Charlotte's side. Now he excitedly tugged at her: "Charlotte, Dad said he's treating us to a big meal to celebrate. Let's go quickly."

"Okay."

Charlotte responded affectionately, then took Philip's hand and walked toward Landon and Jenna who were waiting nearby.

In the crowd, a chubby little girl also tugged at the hand of the man beside her: "Let's go too."

"Okay." The handsome man answered, but his eyes still followed Charlotte's figure closely, unwilling to look away for even a moment.

On the other side, watching Charlotte turn and leave, Owen's eyes slowly reddened: "Dad, is Mom really not going to want us anymore?"

Looking at Owen, Alexander didn't know what to say for a moment.

For the first time, doubt arose in his heart. Was Charlotte really going to divorce him?
