Chapter 18

“Leila's point of view"

I swallowed nothing trying to regularise my breath and not let panic —worst, fear overwhelm me.

I bit out a smile despite my distress. I needed to be fast in leaving or else Alex would come in and everything would blow off.

“Why would you think I'm lying, darling?" I asked baring my teeth wriggling out of his hold, but it was impossible.

He drew his face closer to mine and my breath caught in my throat. Goodness, I have never been this terrified in my whole life except of course, the day I died.

“Because," he muttered, his eyes darted to my lips for the briefest second.

“You left me, to go get married to that loser. There's definitely no reason for you to come back to me” he said and I raised a brow.

Loser, eh?

" I fell out of love with you and in love with him, but that doesn't mean, I don't know what my body wants” I stuck out my tongue, flicking it against his lips, even though, disgust coiled in my stomach.

“Out of love with me, huh" he said but I gave him no chance to think drawing his upper lip into my mouth.

“Quit trying to be reasonable Ben and just fuck me, already” I whispered and it seemed that worked.

He moved away from the door taking me with him, crashing us into the couch.

No, no.. I needed a way, another tactic.

I smiled at him, pushing him off me. Surprisingly he moved.

Climbing on top of him, I was irked to see he was already bulging through his pants. How audacious of him. After what he did to my Aunt and many others.

“I knew you'd come back to me, it was just a matter of time" he said, smiling up at him.

His smile was —ugly and sinister.

His fingers grazed my ribs and resisted the urge to freeze. He killed with his hands.

I couldn't believe I'd let him touch me with the same hands. I had been so dumb.

“What do you have in mind?" He asked and I took that as my cue as I climbed off him.

My phone buzzed —Alex.

“Dance" I announced and he cocked a brow propping up his elbows, staring at me with a line in between his brows.

I smiled, wiggling my butt as seductive as I could and he relaxed a tad. But I could feel him watching me curiously with doubts.

I needed to hurry. Scooting closer to the door, I tried some dance moves which I was sure sucked.

In one swift move, I pulled the door open, scurrying out. I could hear his curses as I passed through the gate bumping into Alex whose jaws were rigid and filled with tension.

Grabbing his arm, I dragged him with me towards his car. We entered, shutting the door.

I held my breath watching as Ben ran out of his gate, his eyes hard and his face angry.

That was close. Whoosh.

He looked around, his eyes fell on our car, I shrank into the seat thinking he'd found us.

After looking around for a few minutes, he walked back into his house slamming the gate so loud, I flinched.

I sagged with relief, closing my eyes. My heart still pounded inside of me.

Oh, Alex.

He was awfully silent. I peeked at him with an eye before sitting straight up staring at him.

His body was tight with tension and he was just staring ahead with his hands around the steering wheel.

My eyes fell on his hands, his fists were white.

Is he… okay?

“Alex?" I called and he took a deep breath.

“Did he hurt you?" He asked and I shook my head.

“No, I'm fine"

He turned to me, his eyes were cold and hard. Totally different to the ones I'd grown accustomed to.

“How did you get past him?" He asked. The questions…

" I'm okay, we should get going already” I said in reply. I wasn't about to tell him, I tried seducing Ben.

“We aren't leaving here" he stated and my mouth dropped open, before I snapped it shut.

Was he being serious now?

“I have no idea what's wrong with you, but, I found something about Ben” I said trying to get the conversation going.

He scoffed.

" You don't know?" He asked and I closed my eyes. Why was he insisting on this?

" Alex…."

“You were alone in there with him! How am I to know you're okay? He's dangerous” he said and I peered up at him.

This was about me, huh?

“I said I'm good" he didn't look convinced. I climbed into his legs, straddling him was quite impossible. The car was tight.

I framed his face with my hands ignoring the pain starting to form in my knees.

“I'm okay. Why wouldn't you believe me?" I asked staring deep into his eyes. He sighed, lowering his eyes.

When he looked up at me, his eyes had softened and worry etched on his face.

His hands scooted down my arms and back, leaving goosebumps on my skin.

“I was worried. You weren't picking up" he muttered and I smiled.

" You didn't expect me to, in the face of danger, did you?" I asked and he shook his head.

A lock of his hair fell over his eyes and I brushed it backwards. The man was beautiful, with intense blue eyes drawing me in.

I leaned in brushing my lips over his, our foreheads touching.

“I'm okay, he didn't hurt me" I whispered. Alex sighed cupping my head with his hand and claiming my lips.

He kissed so good, like he'd took classes on kissing.

His other hand travelled down my back coming in contact with my bare skin, where my shirt had bunched up.

I shivered lightly against him and he caressed my back before tucking a finger into my pants, his finger barely grazed my panties but I could feel him everywhere.

He pulled away from the kiss but kept his finger down my pants. He closed his eyes.

“Don't…” he trailed off, opening his eyes drawing me into the beauty of their depths.

“We're not doing that, ever again
