The mission
"Hello kiddos, how are you guys doing this evening?" Sam asked trying to create an interaction with the kids of the Elders.
"Good morning sir." They greeted in unison and Sam felt a pang of guilt tug in between his heart and his mind went back memory lane, revealing the face of the girl in the prison with him, right in front of him again.
"Good morning, what are you guys doing?" He questioned yet again. His main aim was to create a calm and warm environment between him and the children, that was the only way they would come to trust him and help him out in this dilemma he had himself in.
"We're just playing 'TAG, YOU'RE IT' while we wait for our daddies." One of the girls replied in a tiny yet shrill and innocent voice.
"Who are your daddy's?" Sam asked like he didn't already know the answer.
"Oh, oh you don't know them. They are the Elders of the city and they are seated right there conversing." The girl replied again and pointed to the three elders he had spotted earlier.
"Yes. They govern peace and create a warm and calm environment for everyone in the home of homes to live in." The boy spoke up for the first time in a while.
"I don't know if they can claim to do that anymore." The first girl said with a sullen expression.
"What do you mean by that?" Sam asked as he could see the worry lines that had just showed up in the face of the young girl.
"Well even us can't deny that our daddies has been acting weird lately and I really wish we could go back to the time when they cared about the whole city." The girl continued and Sam realized that they might be kids but they were really sensitive.
"I know the reason why your dad has been behaving the way they have been literally, and that's kind of reason why I'm here." Sam started slowly and though no one else might be able to see the reason and sense in explaining to children but something within him assured him that the kids were going to understand.
"You do? Is something bad going to happen to them?" The boy questioned and Sam chuckled shaking his head in negativity.
"Nothing is going to happen to them yet but if I don't help them then, something bad might happen to the whole city." Sam informed the kids and they stared at each other before looking back at him.
"Then help them. It's obvious they need someone to help them." The boy pleaded and Sam nodded.
"I would help them if I could but I need a little help from you guys." Sam started as his heart began thudding.
It was weird for him that he had to trust kids to be able to accomplish his mission but that was about it. One has to do what one had to do.
"What do you want us to do? We would gladly do it if it would restore them back to what they used to do." They agreed, nodding their head simultaneously.
"I just need to talk to them separately. If they are hurdled together, they wouldn't listen to me." Sam explained and they nodded yet again like they understood exactly what he was trying to say.
"Pretty much yeah? They never listen to anyone once they are together. How do we help?" The second girl asked and Sam smiled and nodded at the positive energy.
"I just need two of you to take your dad's home and I'll talk to one." Sam reiterated trying his best to leave out details.
"But if you are going to talk to one of our dads, what would happen to the other two?" The first girl asked with a scrunched up face.
"I'm going to come and talk to him at your house so I just want you to find a way to take your Daddy's home, just two of you." Sam beckoned and though they looked dazed, they nodded.
"Which of us?" They asked and he just Shrugged.
"You get to pick amongst yourself." Some announced and it was like the kids felt more happy to do the choice by themselves.
"Well, I and Beth would go take our daddies home. Daniel is going to stay back." The first girl said after a little deliberation between themselves.
"What's your name?" Sam questioned in curiosity.
"My name is Annie and what's yours?" She asked looking at me with those puppy eyes that no one could say no to.
"I'm Sam. All right kids, let's swing into action." Sam beckoned and in no time, the two girls were scampering away while Sam hid just right around the corner so the Elders doesn't see him even if they decide to take a look.
"Kids huh? You do have your way with them." The leader of the guards voice squeaked in his ears.
"God dammit!! I'm sure they gave in because he has the face of a baby. All the kids like him." Kate's voice came through.
It seemed kids must have located her own Elder- if thats a nice way to say that- and switched on the chip in her ears.
"Oh Kate. How are you doing?" Sam asked totally ignoring her statement and her scoff could be heard over the microphone.
"I'm trailing an Elder right from where he just banged a girl down to his house. How bad is that?" Kate asks and Sam scrunches his face up.
"Well_ seems like you're having a great deal of situation and all I can say is good luck." Sam retirated mockingly.
"Hold up! Everyone excuse me, Does a shadow need to bang? I mean he is supposed to be causing chaos and not sticking his penis inside anybody's vagina." Alec stated and a series of 'ewwww' was heard from each and every member that had activated their airpods.
"Alec, please listen to your language. I don't want to hear any weird thing that is going to make me turn around and leave a mission I am half way to accomplish." Kate warned and since they knew her very much, they were aware with no one telling them that she was likely scrunching up her face and almost puking.
"Try your best not to puke. Meanwhile I can't say anyone should be keeping tabs on James but it kind of feel weird, he hasn't turned on his speaker yet. I hope he's staying out of trouble." Alec said in a very low voice and they nodded their head like they could see each other.
"All right guys, I need to go. An elder on the loose and I have to chain him." Sam explained and kids concurred.
"Oh yeah. Go get him, I'll do the same over here." Kate answered and Sam began walking towards the only elder that was seated because the other two had been taken away by their children.
"Hey guys, are you there? I think I need backup." Jame's voice came into the speaker and everyone halted in their steps in their different locations.
