Chapter 74:

Chapter 74:
Natalie POV:

Waking up this morning I felt overly excited. We get to learn from the element carriers themselves and I would get to meet the one for spirit. I quickly brushed my teeth and pulled my hair into a messy bun. There was no need to do much since I would probably look like a train wreck when it’s all said and done.

“Mommy? Daddy?” Jordans little voice called out.

“Good morning sweetheart.” I smiled as I came out of the bathroom. Ever since the other kids showed up he’s been sleeping better and waking up in a great mood.

“We get to ride horses today!” Jordan cheered.

“That is awesome, let me guess, you want Delilah?” Will asked.

“Yes! Sally is coming too. She likes horses.” Jordan smiled. He was right about that, Sally stayed out late last night braiding all of the horses hair. I thought it was cute.

“I know she does, what else are you guys going to get to do?” I asked.

“Uncle Ash said we can bake cookies and cakes! He said grandma really needs help for Sallys birthday party.” Jordan giggled. Ash was always looking for a way to involve Jordan and it was nice to see that he was doing it for the others as well. I knew Thena would be over the moon about planning her birthday party.

“Yes she does. It’s very nice of you to help her.” I smiled. I heard a knock on the door and Malachi and Rowena stood on the other side. Jordans face lit up and he ran to them. On first look at the siblings they looked incredibly intimidating and almost unapproachable but the more I’ve been around them and got to know them they are really just big kids.

“Have fun you guys and be safe!” I called out.

“Don't worry momma wolf, he is safe with us.” Rowena winked before they ran off.

“I really like the two of them, they are very good with him.” I said.

“Yes, they are. I wouldn’t want to get on their bad side though. I’ve watched the two of them train.” Will replied.

“You have? I’m assuming they are good.” I smirked. No one really gets Wills interest anymore when it comes to training.

“I absolutely have. They beat the crap out of everyone. It’s actually very fascinating to watch. The speed those two have, it’s like they share one mind.” Will gushed and I laughed.

“Come on, we have to get going. I wonder which one I’ll be training with today.” I wondered.

“Maybe it’ll be the fire guy, I’d like to see what all he can do but did you see how Anohallen turned into literal water yesterday?” Will asked. His eyes went wide and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“I did, she is fascinating honestly. I don’t think all water carriers can turn into that. I think it is only her.” I replied. We stopped in front of Averys door and I knocked on it. She opened the door with a smile on her face and I noticed she looked a lot different. She wasn’t pale like she was yesterday, her hair was solid white with a streak of red, blue, green and gray throughout it.

“You look awesome! How do you feel?” I asked.

“So much better, it’s like I’m seeing things with new eyes.” Avery smiled. Her arms looked toned as if she had been working out a lot lately. The closer I looked at her eyes the more I realized they were the same as her hair. She had different colors in them.

I had checked on her throughout the night. We walked out of the back door to see that all four of them were already here and waiting.

“Natalie, so nice to see you again.” Gaia said.

“Avery, you are looking much better.” Tonto grinned.

“Hi guys, it’s nice to see you all too. Are we the first ones here?” I asked.

“You are, which is a good thing, we have someone for you to meet.” Anohallen smiled. They stepped to the side and I felt the air shift before a woman stood before me. She was wearing a colorful dress, her hair was long and snow white. Her eyes were oddly white too which kind of looked intimidating. She was tall and slender and she was smiling from ear to ear at me.

“Hello Natalie, I am Zina and I represent spirit.” She said. Her voice was light like a feather and I felt nothing but joy.

“It is an honor to meet you.” I replied. Her eyes shifted to Avery and her smile got bigger.

“I am so happy you finally found your warrior. She will be oath bound to you soon enough. Shall we begin your training?” Zina asked. She stumped me when she said Avery would be my warrior, an oath bound one at that.

“I absolutely am! I’m very excited.” I answered.

“Avery, you can come with us.” Anil said. She looked at me and when I nodded she walked off with them.

“She will be fine, don’t worry. I know you’ve been trying to use spirit and not correctly.” Zina said.

“How did you know?” I asked.

“I am connected to you, no one else has this element. You’ve been pulling from you and not the element itself which can hurt you in the long run.” Zina answered.

“I have felt very exhausted afterwards. I haven’t used it all that much though.” I said. Zina smiled at me and I took a deep breath.

“When you use spirit, it’s more to heal or aid in healing. It can be used to strengthen someone when they are nervous or scared. You can wield it how you see fit within reason.” Zina said. I didn’t say a word, I wanted to listen to everything she had to say. This could be incredibly helpful.

“This element is very flexible and will listen to your needs and wants. Like, let’s say that you cut your hand horribly and you are too far from a doctor. When you will it to, it will come to you. Most of the time you won’t even have to tell it what to do. Since it is connected to you it already knows.” Zina smiled.

“So I just need to think of it and it will come?” I asked.

“Precisely. Let’s try it. Use your mate to test it out on.” Zina offered. I turned to Will, his face was showing confusion but I knew he had all the faith in the world in me. I cleared my throat and squared my shoulders. I just needed to remember to pull from the element and not myself. I tilted my head to the side and slowly my body started tingling. Not in a painful way but in a joyful way.

A giggle escaped my lips and everything stopped. I was confused as to what just happened and I heard Zina laughing.

“Yes, it feels just like that when you pull from the element, you’ll get used to it. Try it again.” Zina pushed. I was feeling a little more confident so I focussed back on Will. He was smiling at me this time and I started feeling the tingles again but much stronger this time around. I heard Will gasp before he started laughing and I smiled.

“There you go! Great job Natalie.” Zina praised.

“Now, let’s try something else. Will, with your permission I would like to cut your hand. You will be safe though I promise.” Zina said.

“Of course, whatever you need.” Will said as he walked forward. Zina pulled a knife out of thin air. At this point I’ve learned not to question anything anymore. I watched as she firmly but gently pressed the knife to his palm and cut all the way across.

“Natalie, let me show you first and then you can try.” Zina whispered. She was so concentrated on what she was doing and I felt myself fall into a trance of sorts. She closed her hands around his and they started to glow. When she removed her hands it was completely healed.

“That was a cool feeling.” Will smiled.

“Now, let’s have you try. Do you mind?” Zina asked looking at Will. He offered up his hand and she made the same motions. I stood closer to him and placed my hands over his, it was almost instant that I felt the warm tingles rolling through my body, towards my hands. I watched in amazement as mine started to glow. When the light diminished I removed my hands to see that his wound was completely healed.

“Wonderful job!” Zina clapped.

“It was a lot faster this time..” I whispered, still looking at my hands.

“Correct. I told you that when you pull from the element it is instant. It already knows what to do. It’s just eager to be let out to do its job.” Zina answered.

“Is there anything else I should know about it?” I asked. Zina shook her head but she sat on the ground and patted it.

“I wanted to talk to you about your mother.” Zina said. I sat down immediately.

“I am going to do something for you, something that Sienna and I think you are more deserving of.” Zina started.

“I am going to gift you my memories of Natasha. When you sleep tonight, you will see all the moments I have had with her. I thought it would be a good way for you to get to know her. It won’t stop at just me. All the element carriers have agreed to share their memories as well.” Zina finished. With each word she said I felt tears sting my eyes.

“Thank you.. Thank you so much.” I whispered. Zina wrapped her arms around me.

“No need to thank me sweet girl. You were robbed of the chance to get to know her. You will see how she trained and how far she had come. Maybe you could learn some of her tricks that she had.” Zina winked. I was absolutely stunned. This was so kind of them to do for me.

“I don’t know how I will ever repay any of you.” I said.

“The way you can repay us is to lead your people with pride, lead them with kindness and generosity. White witches aided all races in different ways. You were the ones they came to for help and it is the way it needs to stay.” Zina replied.

“I promise, I will lead them to the absolute best of my abilities.” I promised.

“You’ve already surrounded yourself with the best. Something your mother once tried but couldn’t do in time.” Zina said. That made sense as to why she trusted Odin and Thena so much. She had already created a bond with them.

“I must go now, Sienna is waiting. If you ever have need of me, just call to me and I’ll be here.” Zina smiled. She kissed my forehead and then she was gone. I was feeling very emotional but I also had a new found determination. I needed to get my people back to where they once were but further than they’ve ever gone before.

I will create new alliances, we’ve already started honestly but we need to extend it, grow it, and make it so strong that even decades from now it won’t be broken.

“Are you ready to go and see the others?” Will asked as he took my hand.

“I am more than ready.” I replied. I was feeling a lot stronger and I wanted to learn anything and everything that I could…
