Chapter 73:

Chapter 73:
Ezmeralda POV:

I was truly in awe. All four of them were here at once. One of them had fire engine red hair and I could even see the flames surrounding his hair. His eyes were a blazing red, his skin was an olive color and he stood tall and proud. I was assuming he represented fire.

The female next to him was paler, her eyes were a bright green and almond shaped, I could smell her from here and she smelled like earth. As if I was walking back home in the forest. Her hair was nearly to the floor and she had a crown similar to mine, and her body was slender. I knew she represented earth.

The man on the side of her had a wild look in his eyes but it was a playful wild. His hair was in all different directions like it was caught in a tornado but his hair was gray. He had a muscular build and his eyes were gray but the closer I looked the more I could see it was like they had a storm brewing in them. He represented air.

The woman at the end was quite unique. Her hair was wet and blue and shoulder length, her body wasn’t slender but it wasn’t over built either. Her eyes were a deep blue that reminded me of an ocean, when she shifted it was like she could be transparent and see through. Like going to the beach and being able to see your feet at the bottom of the ocean. I was fascinated by her. I knew she represented water.

“Shall we get started?” The man who represented fire asked.

“Absolutely, but may I ask what your names are so we may properly greet you?” Natalie questioned and they all smiled.

“So much like your mother.. I am Atohallen, I am water.” Atohallen replied.

“I agree, I am Tonto, I am fire.” Tonto smiled.

“I am Anil, and I am wind.” Anil laughed, it was infectious.

“Calm down Anil, he gets a little excited sometimes. I am Gaia and I am earth. We have waited a long time to do this. Your disappearance was quite puzzling.” Gaia said as her eyes landed on Avery.

“Sorry, I kind of had no choice in the matter.” Avery responded.

“We figured, times are changing though and you will need your gifts to protect your queen and we expect to not be disappointed.” Tonto said. His eyes were blazing and I was starting to worry he might burn the place down just standing here.

“You won’t be disappointed.” Avery vowed.

“Will she be trained by the four of you?” Natalie questioned.

“Yes, as will you. The tragedy that happened stopped you from learning. You won’t find the right way to learn in books, although it will help. Each white witch is different, you all learn the same but you manifest it how you see fit.” Atohallen replied.

“Ah, this seems like a private matter, we will give you the space.” I said, gaining their attention.

“Not so fast young queen, you four will also be getting trained. Your father was a white witch and you can access certain things. Who better to teach you than the ones who represent them? You will not train tonight. Avery will need the night to recover so we will bestow her gifts and be back tomorrow.” Gaia replied. One look from her and I was pinned to my spot.

“Yes ma’am.. Can we watch this happen?” I asked.

“You may but no one else. Is there a place we can go to privately, I am beginning to wonder if we are worrying your peers.” Anil said. I looked around and noticed everyone was literally staring at them. Not out of fear but they were simply curious.

“Of course, we have a field in the back that we can go to.” Ash responded. We all turned and started walking towards the back of the house, everyone whispered as we walked by. Well, everyone but the white witches. I am sure they are used to seeing them by now so it was not a shock to them. The rest of us had never seen them before but we had always been curious.

“So you couldn’t detect where Avery was?” I asked. I couldn’t help myself, I was curious.

“Sienna was right, you do ask a lot of questions.” Anohallen giggled.

“No, which was odd to us. Anyone we give a gift to, we know exactly where they are.” Tonto responded.

“We kind of figured someone had taken her, we would have known if she died.” Gaia added.

“How would you have known?” Adira asked.

“We have a list of sorts, not a physical list, more like a mental one. We know who we are going to eventually meet. If someone dies then it just goes away.” Gaia replied. That was interesting. It kind of seemed like they had a pull to those they gift. Similar to what we go through with our own people.

“You each knew my mother?” Natalie asked.

“We did. We gifted her and we trained her. We went to her when she called on us or needed us.” Anil replied.

“You remind me a lot of her actually. You are a spitting image, I know you’ll be just as strong as her.” Tonto smiled.

“Thank you, why did she call out to you? I do apologize, I’m just very curious and the only way I get to know her is through those who did know her when she was alive.” Natalie said. My heart honestly broke for her. All she wanted to do was get to know her mother and she wouldn’t be able to.

“She would call on us to help her when she felt uneasy or if she was doing something wrong. She never did anything wrong, she was just always worried. We would love to sit and tell you stories of her.” Tonto replied.

“You ladies are a real fascination. This is the first time we will be able to train different people. Your siphon on the other hand is very unique. I honestly can’t wait to see what you will do with it.” Gaia smiled.

“I made the earth crack open and I don’t know how I did it.” Adira said. Gaia laughed and when she did, it was beautiful.

“I know you did. I felt it when it happened. It’s easier to do than you think but I am assuming it was a dire situation when it happened.” Gaia piqued.

“Yes, to save Natalie actually. We were in the middle of a fight.” Adira shrugged.

“With those pesky black witches? They really do put a damper on things.” Anohallen muttered.

“Yes they do but a war is coming. Any training we can get we will gladly accept.” I said.

“We know a war is coming. There is a shift in the balance because of it. I wish we could aid you but it is not our fight.” Tonto replied. I didn’t think they would help because then it would seem a bit unfair.

“There is another element carrier right? For spirit?” Bobbie asked.

“That is correct. But only the great white witch holds that element.” Gaia smiled.

“Will she be coming?” Natalie asked.

“She will come tomorrow to help you. From what I understand you are using it from you and not the element itself which is a problem.” Anil replied.

“I honestly don’t know, anytime I’ve used it I felt fine and then a few hours later I am over exhausted.” Natalie admitted.

“You will feel that way until you learn to pull it from the element itself. Just like with the other ones. It’s not something that is in your blood but you can still manipulate them from it.” Anil replied.

“I was really frustrated with how slow I was pulling from them. I fell like it should be a lot faster.” Natalie said.

“Not to worry, before you know it you will be doing it as quickly as it crosses your mind.” Anohallen replied. That was a relief, the last thing I would want is for this battle to start and we still don’t know what to do or how to do it.

“Why haven’t you guys come to train Natalie sooner?” Ash asked. That was a good question. They have had plenty of time to do it.

“We wanted her to grow up and have a normal childhood. Bestowing gifts on children is not what we do but given the circumstances we knew it was best to wait.” Tonto replied.

“That and we knew why the white witches were hiding. We were still able to find the ones we needed to. We didn’t want to risk giving away her location so we stayed away.” Gaia added. In a way that was sweet of them, they tried letting her live as normally as possible for as long as they could.

“What about my son?” Natalie asked. Now this had me perk my ears up.

“We will see him eventually. Although his future is going in a lot of different ways right now, as far as we know he will eventually be the next great white witch. The first borns usually are.” Anil replied. Well that was something we all knew,

“Even with him being a dark witch, wolf and white witch?” Bobbie asked.

“Yes, just because he has different diversities doesn’t take away from what he will naturally be. It just means he is gifted in more ways and he can help keep the balance between all of them.” Gaia answered. We knew Jordan was going to be strong and he would be the bridge between all the races but it was nice to know that his true title would not be taken away from him.

I looked over and noticed Natalie visibly relaxed more hearing this. She was uncertain of where he would stand when we became an adult and not knowing things about what could or could not happen to your child I’m sure is nerve racking.

“I for one am excited to watch this play out. For now, Avery, are you ready?” Gaia asked. I was so lost in the conversations and my own thoughts I failed to see we had made it outside.

“More than ready.” Avery smiled.

“Everyone please take some steps back.” Gaia asked. Her eyes were focussed on Avery.

“I, Gaia, mother earth hereby bestow my blessing and gift upon Avery. To wield for protection and to be used for good.” Gaia spoke. With each word she spoke her voice became more dominant, her hair raised around her and her eyes started glowing a bright green. She kissed Averys forehead and backed away. Avery swayed a little bit but seemed fine.

“I, Anil, father wind hereby bestow my blessing and gift upon Avery. To call on to blow away any threat that may arise.” Anil spoke. His eyes turned a solid gray and the wind around us shifted and picked up. Averys hair whipped around her and she giggled.

“I, Anohallen, mother of water hereby bestow my gift and blessing upon Avery. To wash away disease and parasites that may harm her or those around her.” Anohallen spoke. With each word her body became more and more transparent before she was nothing but a body of water in the shape of a person. My mouth fell open at the site of her.

“I, Tanto, father of fire hereby bestow my gift and blessing upon Avery. To burn away the evil that is to come.” Tonto spoke. Fire had sparked at the tips of his fingers and slowly made its way across his body. Little fire balls danced their way down him and made their way to Avery. She greeted the with a smile and as they sank into her skin she hit her knees.

“Avery!” Natalie gasped.

“She is fine young queen. She will sleep the rest of the day so please watch over her.” Gaia smiled.

“We will.” I promised not taking my eyes off of Avery.

“We will see you all tomorrow, until then be safe.” Tonto bowed before he disappeared. I looked up to see that they were all gone.

“We need to get her inside.” Ash whispered. Michael had picked Avery up and we all started making our way back inside. I wasn’t going to lie, I was really excited but also really nervous for tomorrow..
