Chapter 69

Chapter 69
Natalie POV:

As soon as we got back home Shawn rushed to me. I didn’t know how bad I looked but I knew that Will wouldn’t be happy.

“Natalie, can you tell me what happened?” Shawn asked as he leaned over me.

“I was trying to build hedges to block the bombs but one got by.” I replied.

“Doesn’t look like you were directly hit.” Shawn muttered.

“No, I wasn’t. It landed in front of me and blew me backwards.” I sighed. I needed to work on getting faster or something because it shouldn’t take me that long. I’m also curious as to why they attacked them.

“I hear a new human was found.” Shawn said. I knew he was trying to make small conversation to keep my mind on other things.

“We did. Sally spotted her and I think she is keeping her close to fill her in on everything. Can you imagine the shock she must be feeling.” I replied.

“No, being human is one thing but to get kidnapped and then taken to a place where all supernaturals are. Talk about a confusing day.” Shawn laughed.

“Natalie!” I heard Will screaming from the hallway. The door slammed open and Will took one look at me before he ran to my side.

“Why didn’t you have me come with?” WIll asked.

“One of us needs to stay with Jordan for now. It all just happened so fast.” I answered honestly.

“I’m going to talk to Ash about getting you guards. You can’t be blown up like this.” Will huffed.

“I’ll be fine. Davonna is already healing me, it doesn’t look as bad at it did when it happened.” I replied.

“That’s not helpful you know. How are the others?” Will asked.

“Adira was stabbed in the shoulder I think. Ezmeralda has some cracked ribs. Bobbie is fine. No one was seriously injured, which is good.” I replied.

“I wonder why they attacked randomly like that.” Will said.

“I’d like to know that too. But realistically this could have been going on the entire time and we didn’t know because we kept to ourselves until recently.” I replied.

“If that’s the case then I feel bad. That’s a lot going on at once. Adira doesn’t seem to have any issues with her people and I know we don’t other than the rogues but their king usually keeps him in check.” Will said.

“I still want to know why the rogues are working with the black witches. Maybe they thought if they teamed up they could take us out easier or something.” Shawn said.

“I don’t know, their king doesn’t align with anyone so I wonder if something happened to him.” I answered. The thought has crossed all of our minds and it just doesn’t really make sense. Ace was a prideful bastard, arrogance at its finest and he always thought he was better than literally everyone and I can’t imagine him working with the black witches.

“Still, we know he wants to be king of all wolves but his pack of disgraces can’t win against us all.” Will said.

“Honestly, I’ve waited for him to come out and challenge Ash but he hasn’t. Maybe he knows that he won’t win.” Shawn added.

“Everyone knows he won’t win but Ash doesn’t seem to be the focus. It’s Jordan and the ladies. Victor is trying to take them out so he can get to Jordan.” Will spoke.

“Well, Victor knows that even if one of them falls he still has to get through all the dark witches, vampires and wolves. He doesn’t stand a real chance.” Shawn replied.

“That’s why he is going after each coven separately. He knows they aren’t all with Ezmeralda or Adira. I think it’s time we call them all in. We have the ceremony soon anyways.” I voiced.

“Knock, knock, how is our favorite white witch?” Michael asked as he walked in.

“I’m fine, a little sore but should be good as new in the morning.” I replied, smiling at him.

“I was beginning to think you lost half your face or something.” Michael said.

“Can’t take me out that easily brother.” I replied slapping him in the arm.

“How is Adira holding up?” I asked.

“She’s okay, she’s taking a shower right now. She told me she split the ground open.” Michael shrugged. Shawn and Will looked up at him.

“Are you serious?” Will asked.

“That is incredible, how did she do it?” Shawn added.

“We don’t know honestly. I was tucked behind a hedge and she came running and then she slammed her siphon into the ground and it cracked open.” I replied. I would love to figure out how she did it.

“I’m sure that is something she is going to practice until she figures it out.” Michael laughed.

“What about Ezmeralda and Mariah? How are they doing?” I asked.

“Good, the doctor checked Ezmeralda out and Mariah got her some herbs and stuff to help heal her ribs. They are eating with Sally and Cindy right now. Mom stayed with them until Ezie got there.” Michael replied.

“Ezmeralda is very protective of Sally. Anyone else notice that?” Will asked.

“Yes, Sally is attached to her. She is so young and I feel so bad for her. What she has been through.” I replied.

“What exactly happened to her?” Shawn asked. I felt the cold cotton ball against my skin and flinched.

“I’m sorry, I just have to clean it.” Shawn whispered.

“It didn’t hurt, it’s just cold. She was celebrating her birthday with her family when black witches came in and slaughtered them and took her. She saw everything.” I replied.

“Poor girl, she is going to need time to heal but Sienna made her a dark witch right? Maybe that will help in some way.” Shawn said.

“She did, she can also see auras. That’s how she knew Cindy was human. She is very eager to save as many as she can and I think that speaks volumes about her. We are going to throw her another birthday party.” I replied.

“Speaking of the party, I think it should be this weekend.” Bobbie announces as she walked in. Behind her followed the others.

“We can do that, just get Thena to help. She has a knack for parties.” Michael laughed. She honestly does. She has already started on the ceremony and honestly I’d rather just stay out of her way until she needed my help.

“I’ve heard she’s already going nuts for the ceremony. Imagine what she will do for a birthday party.” Will smiled.

“I’ll talk to her. We can do it this weekend. Saturday?” I asked.

“Saturday will be fine with us. I’ll make sure Adira doesn’t schedule any training on that day.” Bobbie replied.

“She is waiting on you by the way. She said you guys were supposed to go and get food.” Bobbie said looking at Michael. That’s all it took for him to wave at us and run off.

“Where is Blake?” I asked.

“He is on his way, he had to brief the other warriors and make sure none of them were hurt. I wanted to come by and check in on you, make sure you were okay.” Bobbie replied.

“That is very sweet of you, I’ll be fine, I am getting hungry though.” I said.

“Well, it’s a good thing I’m done. There are some comfortable clothes in the closet for you to change into.” Shawn said. He stood to his feet and yanked his gloves off.

“Thank you Shawn, you are a miracle worker.” I smiled and he laughed.

“We will meet you guys in a bit. I need to change too.” Bobbie said as she slipped out of the door. I quickly changed and pulled my hair back,

“Let’s go and get Jordan. Has he had a good day?” I asked.

“He had a blast playing with the other kids. I think they are all staying here too. He wanted to do a sleepover and play all night.” WIll smiled. As we walked down the hallway I could hear the kids screaming and playing. This was life now, he didn’t have to be hidden away anymore and there are kids that are similar to him that he can actually interact with. I opened the door to see the room was in complete chaos.

“Mommy!” Jordan screeched as he ran to me. I scooped him up in a big hug.

“There’s my big boy. Did you have fun today?” I asked.

“I did! Grandpa just brought us all the food and ate with us! Grandma came by too, and uncle Blake. I like those two people.” Jordan said pointing at Rowena and Malachi.

“Oh you do? Uncle Blake, Grandma and Grandpa love spending time with you.” I replied.

“Yes! They are nice and they play with us. Can they stay?” Jordan asked.

“I’ll talk to Aunt Ezie. I’m sure it will be fine though.” I giggled. He was such a people person and tried seeing the absolute best in everyone.

“Where is aunt Ezie and Uncle Ash?” Jordan asked.

“They are eating dinner with Sally and Cindy. I’ll tell them to come by when they get done. Go play, I’ll come tuck you in for bed.” I replied as I set him back down.

“Okay mommy! Bye!” Jordan giggled as he ran off. It really did make me feel good that even in all of this chaos he still gets to be a kid and enjoy things. As we walked through the hallways everyone was moving around and it was so nice to see literally everyone. People were smiling as they talked, there was no tension or anything.

“Natalie, when would you like to handle the rogue white witches?” Sabrina asked as she walked up to me.

“After I eat, I need some sort of energy.” I murmured.

“You know, it is custom for the great white witch to have guards right? We need to find you some.” Sabrina said.

“I’m already on that.” Will muttered.

“I honestly think that it is best if all of the queens have guards. Victor is mainly after all of you right now.” Chloe said.

“That’s not a bad idea. I’m sure Ash and Michael won’t argue with that.” Will responded.

“I think it’s a good idea. Good luck getting Adira to have a guard though.” I laughed. I don’t see Adira liking this idea at all.

“You are right. I don’t.” Adiras' voice called out and I stopped walking.

“It would be temporary.” I offered.

“No. I don’t need a guard.” Adira replied.

“Shut up, I’ll be your guard. Who better to protect you than someone who can literally fry anyone I lay my eyes on.” Bobbies pressed. Adira rolled her eyes but didn’t argue with that idea. I knew she wouldn’t want a guard but it was probably best for us all.

“I think that’s a good idea. You stay with her when I’m not around. I’m sure Ash will have more than one on Ezmeralda, Wayne will have a few on Mariah and I already know you will have a few as well.” Michael said.

“I won’t argue about it. It’s best for us all right now but should we have to go fight again they need to stay out of our way for the most part.” I replied.

“They are there to help.” Will said.

“I know, but I don’t have time to shove them out of the way so I can get done what is needed. I’m going to practice and get better.” I said. I was determined to get it all handled.

“Alright, let’s not get into it right now. I’m too hungry to think straight.” Adira sighed. Now that I looked at her she did look very tired. I knew after I ate I was going to have to handle the witches in the cells and I honestly don’t know what to expect from it..
