Over
Over
Sophie's point of view
Everything was over, and I was left alone once again to pick up the broken pieces of my heart—it was never easy, but I'm getting used to it.
I'm trying hard to forget Lucas, but it is harder than I thought it'd be.
Every night I'd see him in my dreams; at work he was there literally everywhere I looked, and it was driving me crazy. It felt as though I was losing my brains completely, and I hated feeling like that.
I can only thank God that Liam didn't try to bother me for the past month. He's the one who ruined everything for me, and I hated him so much!
I swear if I were to see him again, I'm going to kill him without any regrets. He's a ghost of a gentleman, and I actually don't blame him. He doesn't know how to love a woman. All he knew was to break hearts wherever he went, and I hope someone breaks his heart too.
I let out a deep breath and rested my head on the table with paper piled up. I couldn't do anything right; I couldn't even work thinking about Lucas.
He didn't even bother himself with calling; he treated me as though I didn't exist after all the promises he made to me. It was all a lie, and I hated myself for even believing him.
The sound of someone knocking on the door pulled me out of my thoughts. I sat up straight, fixing my hair before I shouted, "Come in.”
My eyes widened at the sight of the person who had stepped into the room.
“You! What—what are you doing here?”
I stumbled over my words. He smirked, trudging over to me like a predator that had found its prey.
My heart skipped a beat. I jerked to my feet, backing away from him.
“I've come for you, sweetheart; no one is going to save you from me today. It's just you and me…”
His voice was barely above a whisper, but his words sent a shiver running down my spine.
I don't know if there's a school for mad people, but he'd definitely graduated with flying colors. He's a sycophant, and God knows what he'd do to me.
In a split second, I grabbed my phone from the table and swung the door of the back room open and stepped inside and locked the door.
My hands trembled as I typed in Lucas's number. I quickly pressed the green button and brought the phone to my ears.
It rang two times with no answer, but it was picked up on the third ring.
“Lucas, your brother is in my office, and he's acting weird… Please come and get him…”
I'm trying too hard to control my heartbeat… He didn't seem like he'd leave without killing me, and I swear I didn't want to die in his hands.
“Do you think I will ever fall for your words again?”
Lucas's voice was dripping with sarcasm.
Damn it!
Of course he thought I was lying, but the twist in the story is I wasn't.
But if he doesn't believe me, there is no point in talking to him any longer.
I hung up the call and called the police, and I shared my live location with them.
“Oh, poor Sophie! Do you think I'm going to let you go just like that? No one can save you from me now…”
The sound of Liam’s voice echoed from the other side of the room.
I sucked in a sharp breath. I won't allow him to scare me with a dead snake. But he was doing it effortlessly.
He must have found a way to get rid of the security outside, and now I'm stuck in this room, like a scared fool.
I thought the police would come sooner, but there's no sign of them or Lucas. It seemed like no one was willing to save me at all.
In one go Liam kicked the door open. I gasped; my grip around my phone tightened as he stepped into the room.
“Tonight, I'm going to make sure I fuck the hell out of you and erase all of Lucas's touch on you.”
He lunged at me, grabbing my hair, and began dragging me out of the room.
I winced, the sound of my screams echoing, but I was welcomed with nothing but silence. It was past midnight, everyone had gone home, and he somehow got rid of the security. It was just him and me, and he's going to kill me for sure.
“Liam, please let me go!”
Tears streamed down my cheeks, my heart banging against my chest; for a second I thought it was going to burst out.
“Too bad, I'm not going to.”
He dragged me out of the building to the parking lot. I tried to bite him, to push him away, but nothing seemed to be working on him.
He yanked the door handle, swung the door open, pushed me in the back seat, and locked the car.
I jerked to the driver's seat, pressed on the door handle, and locked myself inside the car from both sides.
But it was still a foolish idea; since he had the car keys, he unlocked the door and stepped into the driver's seat, pushing me to the other seat.
“We are going to have a good time tonight. Me, you, and all my friends… We are going to enjoy that little pussy of yours.”
Liam’s voice is void of any emotions as he ignites and drives off.
I swallowed painfully hard, clenching my hand into a fist. I swear this man will die at my hands some day. I've had it with him; right now he was right on my throat, and all I wanted was to spit him out.
All of a sudden, a car stopped in front of Liam’s car, causing him to hit the brakes, halting the car.
