Monster
24Sophie's Point of View
I loved how his lips moved against mine, how they explored my mouth, and how his hand skillfully stroked every part of me. I loved every second of it, but I hated him. I wanted nothing to do with him, so with the little energy I had, I pushed him away.
I panted, our gazes met. The air was heavy with lust and hate at the same time. I yearned for his touch, but I loathed him.
“I can't believe you'd choose that loser over me. Did I touch you better than him?”
Lucas's voice was dark with frustration, his gaze fixed on me.
I let out a sharp breath.
“This isn't about how Liam touched me; it's about feelings. I loved Liam, but I don't love you, and you are forcing yourself on me. Love isn't supposed to be forced; it comes naturally.”
Lucas let out a mocking scoff, his eyes darkening even more.
“If you can love that twisted jerk like Liam, then why can't you love me?”
He asked through gritted teeth, his face flushing red with frustration.
My whole being stiffened. His question hit me hard. I actually don't know why I attract men like these. What's wrong with me?
“Sophie, I think it's better to be with a man who can sacrifice the whole world for you than to be with a man who can sacrifice you for his selfish reasons because he won't hesitate to sacrifice you for the world. Love is not everything in a relationship, and I'm willing to do everything for you. Just give me a fair chance like you did with that loser.”
Throwing me a sharp glare, Lucas walked out of the room, leaving me frozen on the ground.
His words rang in my ears more than they should, and I hate myself for agreeing with him. But after what Liam did to me, I'm not ready to be with any other man.

Another week passed, and there was no sign of Lucas. I couldn't pity myself anymore. I decided to get dressed and go for dinner with everyone else. Their hate for me does not define me, and it's not even valid in my life.
As I stepped into the dining room, all eyes turned to me as if I were some kind of strange alien.
But I've dealt with more awkward situations than this. The man in black pulled a chair for me, and with my chin held high, I sat down.
“Good evening.”
My voice was laced with confidence. Only Grandpa and Grandma nodded; the rest were staring at me.
“How about we introduce ourselves? Who are you? What do you do for a living, and who are your parents?”
Lina threw me a mocking glare, and I couldn't help but chuckle.
“I'm Sophie Martin. I'm sure you've heard of the Martin Family.”
A smirk spread across my lips as her face turned pale, shocked.
All eyes were now on me, etched with disbelief.
“You mean the one and only Martin family?”
Lucas's aunt couldn't help but ask, and I nodded. Unlike them, I was born into a family of wealth.
My family name still had an impact on the whole country because my parents were the richest people in the country.
Everyone trembled at the last name Martin, but it changed when they passed away. Everyone knows I'm the heiress of the Martin Family.
“Any more questions?”
I scanned everyone in the room, but no one uttered a word.
The air was heavy with deafening silence.
I knew their type very well. They weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouths, and when they finally got it, they looked down upon other people and saw themselves as superior.
“Sophie, my dear, you should always be humble no matter how much money you have in your bank account. If you can't humble yourself, then life will humble you in the worst way possible.”
A bitter smile stretched on my lips as I reminisced about my grandma's words.
After dinner, everyone went to their rooms, and I decided to take a tour of the house. The house was enormous, extravagant, and elegant.
A chandelier hung in the center of the sitting room, the walls were painted white, and the furniture was a stylish mix of black and silver. It was truly a beautiful home.
The hallway was dark since the lights were already off, so I decided to return to my room. But I froze in my steps when I heard screams coming from one of the rooms.
I knew I should be going back to the room, but I didn't even realize when I reached the door.
I grabbed the handle and tried to open the door, but it was locked from the outside. The person from the other side kept coughing very hard.
I removed my hairpin, kneeling by the door. I inserted it and unlocked the door before stepping inside.
My eyes widened at the sight that welcomed me.
A man was standing in the middle of the room, both his hands were tied with huge chains, blood was dripping out of his mouth, and it seemed as though he had been beaten severely.
A gasp escaped my lips as I brought my hand to my mouth, covering it.
Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed from the door, and I turned to see Lucas, along with a group of his men, entering the room.
His jaws clenched as his eyes landed on me.
“What the hell are you doing here, Sophie!”
He growled, his face flushing red with rage.
My heart pounded against my chest. I hadn't seen this scary side of him before. He looked like a beast fresh from a horror movie; the difference was that he was just handsome. I froze.
“Who is he?”
I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper.
Lucas let out a dark chuckle.
“Unfortunately, I came out of his balls,”
He said through his gritted teeth, his jaws tensing even more.
I shook my head in disbelief.
“You are a monster with no emotions. Who keeps their father locked up in a room tied with chains? Are you even human?”
I shouted. My voice was louder than I wanted it to be, and I was trembling with anger.
If he can't love his father, how can he be capable of loving anyone? He's a monster, and I see why I hated him.
