Chapter 21 CHAPTER 21

Chapter 21 CHAPTER 21
SABRINA

“What are you doing?” Soren asked with Panic settling in her voice. She quickly picked up her iPad and tried to leave.

“If she is not going to do it, then I am going to do it”, Vincent told Soren, not looking at me..

“No…” Soren said and it felt as if blood drained from her face.

She was pale as hell.

If I allowed Vincent to do it, I am afraid he is going to hurt her badly.

“I will do it”, I said slowly, and I stepped forward.

I raised my hand and slapped Soren across the face.

“Vincent!” Soren yelled and glared at me.

Her eyes were blazing red like molten iron. She looks like someone who is going to cry.

“So what led to the fight, Soren?” Vincent asked, and she bit the inside of her cheeks.

“She is pretending. I know she is not your Fated mate!” Soren yelled and I can never be more right. She has a crush on Vincent.

Undoubtedly, the thought didn't sit well with me.

“Then why not find out on our wedding Day?” Vincent told her, and she scoffed, rolling her eyes.

“You should know what will happen if it turns out to be a lie. You will be the one to pay for it dearly.
She is a liar.” She deadpanned with confidence

“And I never asked for your opinion. If you touch her again, you will receive more than a slap.” Vincent threatened her..

She parted her lips to speak but Vincent beat her to it

“She is going to be my wife, and I will deal with all the problems”, Vincent said and tugged me closer to him by my waist.

When his hand touched the part close to the hem of the panties, I almost let out a scream for him to let me go instantly but another villain was right in front of me.

Soren didn't say anything else. She walked away leaving the dining room. When she left, I tried to pull Vincent's hand off me but he surprised me by lifting me up effortlessly.

“Vincent!” I squealed out and I felt my butt touch the surface of the table.

The fuck is he trying to do?

I tried to clasp my legs together when he stepped in between my legs.

God.

“What is it?” I asked him and he clapped his hand.

The door was pulled open and Penny came in. When she saw the position we were in, she quickly bowed her head.

Get me an ice cube pack.

“I will get it ready, my prince,” Penny said and left.

“People are going to misunderstand. Stop trying to cage me like an animal.” I said and he only stepped even closer.

My breathing becomes erratic.

“We should give them something to talk about. The fact that the cold Prince actually cares for his mate despite how he treated others.” He said and I tried to reply to distract myself..

“You must be sick if you think I am going to partake in your sick games,” I said and the corner of his lips pulled up to form a smirk.

“Who said I was playing a game?” He said and brushed my hair back, his face so close, his lips almost brushing my lips and I quickly looked elsewhere..

“My prince,” Penny said and gave him the ice pack..

“Go and prepare a warm bath for her”, Vincent instructed Penny, and she left.
“Vincent I…,

“Did you like my gift?” He asked cutting me off before I could finish.

"Let me press this to your cheeks." He said and in the next minute, he pressed it to my cheek. Shivers ran down my spine when I felt the coldness.

The ice cube pack was hurting me badly. Now I understand why Vincent is not letting me do it myself.

"All done. Such won't repeat itself from now on, " Vincent promised, and get me down.

I didn't tell him anything more but until I heard the loud and clear sound of his boot.

Vincent caught my hair and got rid of the band. My hair cascaded down my back, falling below my waist.

"Beautiful. Just exactly the way I imagine it. Start letting your hair down." Vincent said and winked at me before turning the doorknob.

"What about my band?" I yelled back as if he could hear me.

CHAPTER 29

Vincent did hear me because he turned back, showing me the band, and then he tucked it inside his pocket and shrugged. It felt as if he was trying to tell me to come after him, which I knew was a terrible mistake if I dared go after him.

"Don't even dream about it,” Vincent warned when I tried to take a step forward.

“I thought you were going to thank me for bringing her.” He said with a click of his tongue and walked away.

He was talking about Penny.

Seriously?

He suddenly wants me to thank him. He can be unpredictable sometimes.

I retired to my room with a heavy heart. I still remember how Soren looked at me as if she was going to skin me alive. I touched my cheeks and the painful truth is, it doesn't really hurt that much.

Maybe it's because my body has already got accustomed to abuse. Getting to my bed, I heard a gentle knock on the door and Penny walked inside.

“Penny, I am actually okay now,” I said when I saw her holding a bottle of balm in her hand.

“The Alpha Prince wants me to give you this. I was told it will help with the pain.” She said and I heaved a sigh.

And when did he already have the time to do that?

“Thank you, Penny. I will just see you later.” I said and she dropped the bottle on the table before leaving.

I got up and drank it and there was a small letter under it. “You actually look more beautiful with your hair down. I think I am already getting obsessed with seeing you that way.” I read the letter and shuffled the paper, my face scrunched up.

He is going to keep getting on my nerves, I think. And now he has already added one more villain. Soren is not going to forgive me, I am sure of that.

I spent the rest of the day indoors and Penny served my dinner in my room.

The next morning, I wore a simple blue dress and left the room. I was actually expecting my breakfast to be served in bed but I received a message from Penelope that the Alpha king himself wants to eat with me and Vincent.

Leaving me with no choice, I had to make myself available. When I got to the door, the guard standing outside pushed the door open for me and I walked in. To my astonishment, I wasn't expecting the dining room to be this beautiful and everything screams luxury.

A maid walked up to me and bowed her head.

“The prince is waiting for you,” she said, and I raised a brow.

Huh.

The prince?

I thought the Alpha king himself wanted to see me.

“Okay,” I replied and followed her. Maybe she probably received the message from Vincent himself to call me here.

I thought we were already in the dining room, but there is actually more to see. Another door was pushed open and that is when I eventually stepped inside. The room was dimly lit with golden light. Looking at the decor, it is ancient with a touch of modern materials.

The maid left and I looked at the dining table. To my astonishment, there was only one person in the room.
Vincent.

He is the one who sent for me and there was no one else. He looked up with a smile on his face, and it faltered, his eyes scrutinising me, and I swallowed.

“You must be kidding me.” I choked out and turned to leave.

Not at this time will I eat with him.

“Sabrina.” I heard him call my name but I didn't look back.

I continue walking, and my freedom screams at me, elated when my hand touches the doorknob, then I smell him.

He turned me sharply to face him and tugged me so close that I could feel the muscles underneath his shirt.

“Where do you think you are running off to?” Vincent growled, his Alpha Aura caging me.

Drawing me close to him like a moth to a flame. His fingers curled around my wrist and it sent a jolt down my body.

“You tricked me into coming here.” I forced the words out of my mouth, ignoring the desire that threatened to swallow me whole.

“The king is not here,” I said it boldly now, and he kept looking at me. His composed expression is not changing.

“I had to because that is the only way for me to get your attention.” He said in a raspy voice, his fingers were rubbing my wrist and my body jolted. I shifted on my toes.

“You can't blame me.” He coos in my neck and finally lets me go, taking a step back.

My patience is running out so you can just come with me and sit down.

“You can't always force me, Vincent.” I plead in a meek voice. I am not even sure if he is even listening to me.

“This is not me forcing you Sabrina. You only need to eat with me, so why is it that hard?” Vincent asked, and I wanted to let him know that everything is hard with him being close to him.

“I don't want to be with you”, I said and added “ALONE” in my head.

“I thought I told you I love it when you have your hair let down. Why did you choose today of all days to let it down? I think I became obsessed the moment you walked in.

“Fuck no,” I said when I realised I actually had my leg down like he said.

Did he seriously think I was trying to seduce him? Why will I do that huh?

“I let it down without knowing because you took my band,” I told him, the tension in the room made my head feel fuzzy.

“You mean this?” Vincent asked, showing me the band.

I tried to take it from him but he shoved it back inside his pocket.

“Don't tell me you only have one?” Vincent asked and my face flushed pink. I only have one and I am finding it hard to admit that.

“You can always get another one, and I will keep them all,” Vincent said, and I know he actually meant every word.

“So are you going to eat with me?” Vincent asked me and I bit the inside of my cheeks.

“I am sorry but it seems I am already full,” I told him as an excuse.

“Then do you want your maid to get punished instead?” Vincent asked me, his hand tucked inside his pocket and my eyes widened when he brought out his phone.

“What? Are you going to threaten me with her now?” I asked Vincent, my lips quivering.

Did he bring her here to use her as my weakness? I can't believe he could stoop so low.

“If you are going to be stubborn then I have no choice.” He said and dialled a number. Then instinct kicks in.

“Vincent,” I called out his name, and he looked up while the person he was calling actually picked up the call.

“Yes. So what is it? Are you going to stay or not?” He asked and inclined his head towards the direction of the dining table and I led the way while he ended the call.

Before I could sit down, Vincent pulled the chair out for me to sit down. He sat down beside me and spread the napkin on my legs.

“You should eat”, he said, and I picked up the fork. I must say everything cooked today was actually my favourite back at Father's Pack.
