Chapter 93
Lila listened to Alexander describing these things that should happen naturally out of affection as if they were tasks to complete, and she was completely speechless.
He raised his eyebrows slightly. "What?"
She glanced at him. "But you said before that you wouldn't let me throw myself at you. How would I dare to kiss or hug you?"
The corners of Alexander's lips curved into a smile, but on his face, it carried a sense of condescension. "Now, I'm giving you that privilege."
Lila wanted to say it wasn't necessary.
But she didn't dare.
Alexander had already started giving orders. "Come here."
"What for?"
"To build our connection. Start by kissing me."
Lila felt very helpless.
She was starting to wonder—had Alexander ever actually been in a relationship?
When he was with Celeste, did he order her to kiss him like this too?
This was Lila's first time learning that building a connection could be done in such a simple and direct way.
Alexander's patience was wearing thin, and when he spoke again, there was displeasure in his voice. "What are you standing there for?"
She snapped back to reality and shuffled toward him step by step.
When she stood just three inches away from him, close enough to kiss him with just a slight lean forward...
Lila's eyes darted away as she asked awkwardly, "Where... where do you want me to kiss you?"
"Anywhere."
"OK."
Lila thought to herself that she'd just give him a quick peck on the cheek.
She tilted her face up and unexpectedly met his blue eyes staring at her. Her heartbeat inexplicably quickened.
Lila stood on her tiptoes, getting closer to him bit by bit. When she could finally look him in the eye, before actually kissing him, she asked cautiously, "Can you not stare at me like that?"
Alexander asked leisurely, "Why?"
"I'm a little nervous."
Alexander let out a cold laugh.
Lila was speechless.
Because after his cold laugh, he was still staring at her the same way.
Whatever, there was no other option. She'd just have to kiss him.
Lila raised her hands from her sides and placed them on his arms. She stood on her tiptoes as high as she could go, touched his right cheek lightly like a dragonfly, then quickly pulled away.
She probably touched him for only a second.
No, maybe even just 0.5 seconds.
Even so, she could still feel the slightly prickly stubble on his soft cheek.
Lila had never known that kissing Alexander's face would feel like this—soft and prickly, but also carrying a faint scent that belonged uniquely to him, emanating from his skin.
It might be his skin's natural fragrance, or maybe the scent of his face wash or aftershave?
She couldn't really tell.
Lila just felt that the scent coming from him was full of masculine energy and smelled really good. If she had to define what that scent was, she might call it the scent of a man.
After Lila pulled away, she lowered her eyes. Whether it was because she kept replaying the feeling of kissing his cheek and the scent she'd smelled, her heartbeat began to race continuously.
Alexander had narrowed his eyes the moment she touched him.
Her lips were warmer than his face, and when their skin touched, he experienced an extreme softness he'd never felt before.
But she pulled away too quickly.
At this moment, Alexander stared at Lila standing before him with her head down, his lips curving slightly. But within a second, he dropped the smile, and his cool voice rang out again. "What are you spacing out for? Continue!"
Lila was stunned.
If she heard correctly, what did he just say?
Continue?
