Chapter 261

Chapter 261

This unexpected kiss made Lila's eyes go wide. By the time she snapped back to reality, Alexander had already pulled away at just the right moment, and smugly curled his lips at her, "Kissing feels better."

For a moment, Lila didn't know where to put her hands.

She pressed her lips together slightly and lowered her head in embarrassment.

"Get in the car!" he ordered.

Lila responded and turned to get into the passenger seat.

Half an hour later, the car left downtown Oceancrest City and arrived at the Sinclair Family Manor in the suburbs.

When Lila entered the Sinclair Family Manor, Alexander casually took her hand. This familiar scene reminded her of the first time she came to the Sinclair Family Manor—he had also taken her hand just like today.

he had said curtly,
"Acting, get it?"

Thinking of this, Lila couldn't help but glance at their clasped hands, then look at Alexander, "Honey, are you holding my hand to put on a show in front of Grandma again?"

Alexander turned his head to meet her eyes, "So what if I am? So what if I'm not?"

she said calmly, "Actually, we're still quite a distance from the main living room. We don't need to start performing so soon."

Alexander responded matter-of-factly, "The servants are busy outside. If they see us walking together but acting distant, they'll get suspicious too."

Lila continued, "But the servants probably won't run to Grandma to tell on us, right?"

Hearing this, he unconsciously frowned and turned to look at her, "Mrs. Sinclair, why do you have so many questions? Or are you saying that holding my hand makes you feel wronged?"

"No, your hand is warm. It's quite nice to hold."

"You like it?"

Like it?

I guess so.

However, Lila didn't answer him honestly. Instead, she mimicked his tone and dropped an ambiguous line, "At least it's not something I dislike."

Alexander raised his eyebrows slightly.

Why did that phrase sound so familiar?

Lila could tell what he was thinking and smiled, "Let's hurry inside. Grandma's waiting for us."

With that, she took a step forward ahead of him.

Alexander looked at her back and their clasped hands, the corners of his lips curling up imperceptibly as he followed her.

For some reason, Lila felt that today's mood was different from the last time she came.

Last time, Alexander had a cold face and walked very fast. She had to jog to barely keep up. But today, he walked side by side with her, their steps in sync.

Especially with the nice Saturday sunshine falling on them, it gave off a warm and peaceful feeling.

Lila felt really good.

But thinking that all this beauty was temporary and that they were destined to divorce, her good mood took a hit. She also reminded herself not to overthink it—it's all just acting. After one year, you'll have nothing to do with each other!

When they reached the main living room, Lila saw that Arabella, who had appeared in Alexander's office yesterday, was also there.

Arabella saw her too and said to Grandma, "Grandma, brother and sister-in-law are here."

Hearing this, Gaia immediately looked over.

Lila let go of Alexander's hand and ran over to her with a smile, "Grandma!"

Responding, Gaia touched her face and sighed, "Lila, we haven't seen each other for just a few days. How come you look so much thinner?"

"Really?"

Lila also touched her own face, then smiled, "I eat very nutritiously every day."

Gaia frowned and glared at Alexander behind her, "You must be tired from cooking and working. I told you I'd arrange for a servant, but that grandson of mine refused."
