Chapter 244
But Lila held back, responding with a smile, "Got it, I'll definitely change."
Alexander nodded with satisfaction. Just as he was about to get in the car, he suddenly remembered something and turned to look at her, "Charlie has already found a housekeeper. Starting today, you don't need to cook anymore."
"Thank you, honey."
"But when you get home from work, the hug stays."
Lila froze for a moment, about to say something, but Alexander had already bent down and gotten into the car.
She let out a breath and walked around to the other side to get in.
Once the car left the Sinclair Group underground parking lot and merged into traffic, Lila glanced at Alexander in the passenger seat.
He had his eyes closed, seemingly enjoying the relaxed feeling after work.
After hesitating for a while, she still spoke up and interrupted him, "Honey, since we'll have a housekeeper at home, wouldn't it look bad if we hug in front of them?"
Alexander lifted his eyelids, glanced at her from the corner of his eye, and asked, "We're a legally married couple, why would it look bad?"
"But I'm kind of shy, I don't feel comfortable hugging you when someone else is around."
"That's easy to fix."
While driving, Lila asked, "What do you mean?"
Alexander spoke unhurriedly, "Starting today, between dinner and bedtime, pick a time to come to my bedroom and hug me."
Lila's hands on the steering wheel nearly let go!
Why did she suddenly feel a bit short of breath?
Going to his bedroom to hug him—wouldn't that be like walking straight into a trap?
"What do you think?" When Alexander didn't hear her respond, he asked again.
"I don't think that's a good idea. Didn't Grandma say before that you're a clean freak? That's why she didn't insist on arranging servants to come to Island Mansion to take care of us. If I go to your room every day to find you, I'm afraid I'll mess up your space."
Alexander seemed to hear something funny and let out a cold snort through his nose, "Clean freak?"
Although Lila didn't understand what he was laughing coldly at, she still nodded, "Yes, you like things clean. I can see that. I don't want to mess up your space."
"My clean freak tendencies became immune when we kissed passionately with our tongues tangled together."
Alexander's bluntness caught Lila off guard .
Her expression suddenly turned sour.
Alexander clearly had an elite education, so why did his word choices sometimes sound so crude and vulgar?
Lila bit her lip, not knowing what to say for a moment.
He suggested, "Or would you prefer I come to your room to hug you? After all, that would make Mrs. Sinclair seem more reserved. I'm a man, so taking the initiative is only right."
She pressed her lips together, "How about the study instead?"
"The study?" Alexander repeated these two words with a slightly raised tone, then asked, "So Mrs. Sinclair likes doing that kind of thing in places with a strong cultural atmosphere like the study?"
A blush suddenly rushed to Lila's face.
Please, it's just a hug!
What did he mean by "doing that kind of thing"?
Alexander really wasn't afraid of scaring her into letting go of the steering wheel and causing an accident—he said whatever he wanted.
"Why do you like the study?" he asked again.
She didn't bother arguing with him about his word choice and replied directly, "The study is less private than a bedroom. I won't be as nervous."
Alexander scoffed coldly and spoke indifferently, "It's not like we haven't hugged before. Why are you acting like an innocent girl now?"
Lila was dissatisfied with Alexander's ambiguous words.
Would you please just shut up already.
She stopped talking and sped up, wanting to get home earlier. In front of the housekeeper, Alexander would probably reign in his habit of speaking without a filter.
