Chapter 187
Alexander frowned immediately.
However, Lila reacted much more intensely than he did.
She stood up from her chair right away, completely ignoring the other diners having dinner in the restaurant, and called out in a voice neither too loud nor too soft, "Julie, apologize to me!"
Julie turned around, glanced coolly at the messy situation on the table, and smiled, "Why should I apologize to you?"
"Are you blind? Can't you see you spilled my juice?"
"Just because you say I spilled it means I spilled it? Did anyone see it?"
Elara stood up as well, looking at Julie with an indifferent gaze, "Miss, I saw it."
Julie sneered, "You? You're on Lila's side. Your words have no credibility at all."
Elara suggested good-naturedly, "Is that so? I know the owner of this restaurant has surveillance cameras installed. How about we check the footage?"
Julie immediately felt guilty when she heard this.
Even so, she still acted arrogant and superior, "I can't be bothered with you people."
With that, Julie lifted her foot to leave.
Lila caught up with her in two steps, "Julie, wait a moment."
Julie turned back, "Something else?"
"Yes." Lila said, even smiling at her.
As soon as she finished speaking, she grabbed the juice glass next to Elara and splashed it on Julie's ugly face.
Julie instinctively reached up to wipe the mess from her face while staring at Lila in shock, shouting furiously, "Lila, you actually dared to splash me!"
Lila curved her lips, returned to her seat and sat down, asking innocently, "Did I splash you? Did anyone see it? Do you have proof?"
After three questions in a row, Lila looked at Elara with fake sincerity, "Elara, did you see it?"
"I saw it," Elara said.
Julie didn't expect Elara to speak up for her, and immediately became smug, "Lila, your friend said she saw it. What do you have to say for yourself?"
Elara chuckled, "Miss, why are you so anxious? What I meant was, I saw Lila splash a barking dog. What, did you see it too?"
"You? You people!"
Pointing at the two of them, Julie didn't know what to say. In the end, she could only glare at Lila furiously and leave a harsh warning, "Lila, you're about to become an abandoned wife. What do you have to be proud of? Let me tell you, once Celeste comes back, you'll be divorced. When that time comes, let's see how proud you'll be!"
Lila got angry hearing this.
She stared at Julie and spoke defiantly, "I'll tell you the truth—as long as I fall for my husband and my husband falls for me, we won't get divorced. When that time comes, I'll still be proud. Your best friend doesn't even know where she is right now. By the time she comes back, my husband and I might already have kids who can go grocery shopping by themselves!"
"You think Mr. Sinclair would like you? You want to have his children? How ridiculous. Stop dreaming!"
"You don't believe me?"
After asking, Lila pretended to be troubled, "Now that you mention it, when my husband said yesterday that he wanted to be a man I'd like, I was a bit skeptical too. As for having children, right after we got married he was begging me, pleading with me to have his children. I'm really troubled about it!"
Julie looked at Lila's smug expression, then at her own clothes stained by the sticky juice. Furious, she raised her hand and lunged at her, as if trying to grab Lila's hair...
Elara quickly moved to stop her, and Lila instinctively stepped back.
Julie lunged forward like a madwoman. Just as she was about to reach Lila, her arm was suddenly grabbed by a force and flung hard to the side.
