Chapter 174
She was just momentarily dazzled by Alexander's good looks, it wasn't like she actually liked him - at most, she just appreciated his appearance.
She wasn't a masochist, so how could she possibly like a man who didn't even know how to talk properly?
As they talked, they continued walking toward the mall entrance.
Getting closer, Lila could now clearly see the little girl she had randomly pointed at earlier.
A tiny little angel with chubby cheeks, big round eyes, and little short legs bouncing as she walked - absolutely adorable.
She couldn't help but take a few extra looks.
Alexander followed her gaze, "Like her?"
Lila nodded without thinking and couldn't help sighing, "That little girl is so pretty, and so sweet and cute. I bet anyone would like her, right?"
He curved his lips slightly, saying with unclear meaning, "The mom holding her isn't ugly either. Kids take after their parents, so it's not surprising she's good-looking."
Lila glanced back at Alexander, raised her eyebrows slightly, and smiled, "You're checking out other women right in front of me?"
Alexander's eyes flickered, then he snorted coldly, "Where's your focus?"
"I don't care where my focus is. The point is you were looking at another woman."
"So what if I was?"
She glared at him and gave Alexander her verdict, "Not gentlemanly."
With that, Lila quickened her pace and left the mall.
Alexander was both annoyed and amused.
His point was clearly about kids inheriting their parents' genes so they wouldn't be ugly, but she picked out the fact that he looked at a woman and made an issue of it. How unreasonable, and then calling him "not gentlemanly"?
Who was he supposed to play the gentleman for?
Her?
Alexander scoffed lightly and strode after her, grabbing her wrist. Though he felt disdainful inside, he still explained, "Lila, I was telling you the kid looks good because her mom was already good-looking. And I wanted to say, if you like kids, we could have one too. Don't you always pride yourself on being beautiful? And I'm top-tier in looks myself. Our child would definitely be even better-looking. Aren't you curious what they'd look like?"
She responded quite naturally, "Of course I'm curious."
Alexander's lips curved up, and with some anticipation in his heart, he probed, "So shall we have one?"
Lila rolled her eyes, then turned to look at him with a light smile, "Do you think I'm stupid?"
His expression changed instantly, eyes narrowing, "What do you mean?"
Instead of answering, she asked back, "Just because I'm curious what a kid would look like, I should have one?"
After that sentence, she continued, "You think a kid is like a steak - if you want to know what steak tastes like, you just cook one and try it, and if it doesn't taste good you can throw it away. Can you throw away a child like garbage if they're not good-looking when they're born?"
Alexander's face darkened at her words, and he questioned unhappily, "What kind of ridiculous comparison is that?"
Lila straightened her small frame and said confidently, "The words might not sound nice, but the logic is sound."
He snorted coldly, saying with full confidence, "My child won't be ugly."
"Oh really?"
"So, shall we have one?"
She answered casually, "Sure, do you want a boy or a girl?"
Alexander couldn't believe what he was hearing, looking at her with disbelief, "You're agreeing?"
"Yeah."
"I'd like a daughter. Then she could be as pretty as that little girl just now, right?"
Lila nodded seriously, "Okay, when I fall in love with you someday, when I become so crazy about you that I can't live without you, when I go mad for you, feel sad for you, hurt for you, when all my emotions are controlled by you - that's when I'll give you a daughter."
