Chapter 111
Alexander caught sight of her dazed expression and raised his eyebrows slightly. "Didn't you hear what I said?"
Lila heard him, of course.
She just didn't want to feed him.
The more obedient she was to Alexander, the more he pushed his luck.
Was he treating her like a nanny or what?
Lila took a breath and met his examining gaze. "Boss, you injured your head, but your hands are perfectly fine. It won't affect you eating fruit. You can eat it yourself—that way you can have one piece when you want one piece, or two pieces when you want two pieces."
"I did indeed injure my head, and you're the one who caused it. Since your brain is working just fine, you should know I haven't settled the score with you yet, right?"
Her initial confidence vanished the moment she heard those words.
Alexander's voice became even colder when he spoke again, with a hint of threat. "You won't even feed me some fruit? Would you prefer I return the favor and bash a hole in your head too?"
Lila muttered under her breath, "You said you don't hit women."
He stared at her dejected look, feeling inexplicably pleased, and responded cheerfully, "But I never said I don't hit disobedient women."
Lila looked at him with resentful eyes.
"What are you looking at?"
"Looking at how handsome you are. Is that not allowed?"
As she finished speaking, the resentment on Lila's face faded somewhat, replaced by a perfunctory, flattering fake smile. "Boss, you're so handsome and elegant. It's my honor to serve you fruit. I'm absolutely delighted."
"Could you be any more fake?"
"Boss, how can you say that? I've always approached you with a sincere heart, and every word I say to you comes straight from my heart. I..."
Alexander cut her off coldly. "Enough."
Lila shut her mouth.
He lifted his chin toward the fruit on the table.
She made an understanding "oh" sound, then picked up a toothpick and stabbed it into a piece of apple as if she were sticking a needle into Alexander.
Perhaps the motion was too forceful—some juice squirted out of the apple.
Alexander watched her stab the apple and frowned, then shifted his gaze to her face.
Lila held the toothpick and brought the apple to his mouth.
But when the apple reached his lips, Alexander didn't open his mouth.
She reminded him patiently, "Boss, open your mouth. Here comes the apple."
Alexander stared straight at her and opened his sexy mouth with an air of nobility.
Lila put the end with the apple into his mouth. When Alexander closed his mouth, she pulled her hand back, the toothpick separated from the apple—first piece successfully fed.
She went to stab the second piece of apple with the same forceful motion as before.
Alexander narrowed his eyes slightly.
He stared at her with a deep gaze that was hard to read.
When Lila brought the second piece of apple to his mouth, Alexander kept his lips pressed together.
She lost her patience. "Boss, do you want to eat the apple or not?"
Alexander said nothing.
However, he suddenly reached out and pulled the chair Lila had been sitting on to a spot right next to him. He patted the seat and looked at Lila. "Sit."
Lila looked confused. "Boss, what do you mean by this?"
He repeated impatiently, "I said sit, so sit."
"Sitting isn't a problem, but there's no need to sit so close to you, right? I'm covered in common folk's aura—I'm afraid I'll taint you."
"Say one more word and I'll find something to stuff in your mouth."
Lila didn't know what to say.
