Chapter 100
Lila pressed her lips together and raised her hands to unbutton her pajamas.
Alexander watched her movements, his eyes dark and unreadable.
After unbuttoning all the buttons, Lila stood up, reached her arms around his waist from both sides, and hugged him.
The moment their skin touched, Lila's body warmth transferred to Alexander—soft and warm.
Lila wanted to pull back in fear, but she forced herself to press her face against his chest. Controlling her racing heartbeat, she said to him in a submissive and pleading tone, "Honey, can we sleep together from now on?"
Alexander had only one reaction to this behavior—anger.
She hit him on the head, and now she's trying to sweet-talk him?
Did she think she could manipulate him at will?
Alexander roughly pulled her out of his embrace, staring at her with a sinister look, and spoke angrily, "Lila, who the hell do you think you are? When you don't want it, I have to stop, and when you want it, I have to continue?"
Lila knew she was in the wrong, so her tone was gentle, "I just wanted you to go to the hospital."
"To get me to the hospital, you're overflowing with pity, forcing yourself to sleep with me?"
"I wouldn't say forcing myself."
After saying that, she looked into his eyes, "After all, we're legally married. We should have slept together on the first night we got our marriage certificate."
"If that's what you think, then what was with hitting me just now?"
"You were too sudden. I wasn't mentally prepared."
Alexander sneered, his words dripping with sarcasm, "So now that you've injured me, you're prepared?"
Lila felt guilty but didn't plan to lie to him.
Because she knew someone like Alexander was smart—if he caught her lying, he would only get angrier, and the price she'd have to pay would be even higher.
She looked up and asked him, "Do you want to hear the truth?"
"Otherwise, should I listen to bullshit?" Perhaps because of his injury, Alexander couldn't speak nicely to her.
Lila didn't mind and patiently told the truth, "I injured you and feel guilty. To make it up to you, I'm willing to sleep with you."
Alexander looked down at her and, for some reason, asked, "What if you get pregnant from tonight?"
She said, "I won't get pregnant."
Alexander narrowed his eyes, "You're that sure?"
Lila answered, "Because I plan to take a morning-after pill."
Hearing this, Alexander instantly felt rage rush to his brain.
He suddenly grabbed her chin, "Lila, do you really think I'm dying to touch you? Even now, you still don't understand what I actually want?"
She hadn't understood before.
But after he said that, Lila felt like she got it.
Her expression changed, "You want me to get pregnant?"
"Looks like you're not completely hopeless after all."
"But why? Shouldn't children be with someone you actually like?"
Why?
The deal with the old lady flashed through Alexander's mind.
Without a doubt, it was for Celeste.
But why should he tell her?
Or rather, if he told her, would she still obediently go along with it?
Pulling back his thoughts, Alexander coldly dropped a line, "You just need to get pregnant. You don't need to know why."
Although he was injured and technically a patient, hearing these words, Lila still smiled.
She looked up at Alexander, frowning slightly, "I have to suffer through pregnancy and childbirth, but I can't know why? Since when does the world work like that?"
