Chapter 233

Chapter 233

Alexander cut in, his tone brooking no argument. "Say whatever you need to say. Here."
After speaking, he shot Lila another sidelong glance.

Lila lowered her head and bit her lip slightly.

This had nothing to do with her.

She was just reading a book, and then Wesley walked in. She'd been passive the whole time. Even accepting his business card was something she couldn't refuse after his whole speech.

Just as she was thinking this, Lila suddenly felt that not only Alexander, but even Wesley's gaze had fallen on her.

What was going on?

When titans clashed, the bystander usually paid the price, right?

Both Alexander and Wesley were standing, while she had been sitting in the chair the whole time.

Now, with the atmosphere so tense, she couldn't keep sitting. She quickly stood up.

After standing, Lila quietly moved behind the chair, trying to minimize her presence as much as possible.

Wesley saw Lila's movement and his lips curved slightly.

Although giving her his business card had made Alexander angry and the partnership might be in trouble.

But looking at Lila's cute and well-behaved appearance, he didn't regret at all taking the initiative to come in and chat with her.

Seeing Wesley still had the mind to stare at Lila, Alexander walked directly in front of him, blocking Wesley's view with displeasure, "Mr. Morris, the partnership is off. You can leave our company now. Don't let me keep you."

Wesley met his gaze and changed his words, "Mr. Sinclair, if I said I didn't actually plan to poach Miss Grace to work at Washington Tech, would you reconsider our deal?"

"Is that so?" he asked back with interest.

Wesley's gaze moved past Alexander to Lila behind him.

When Lila caught Wesley's gaze, she showed an awkward but polite smile, then lowered her head.

Wesley smiled, withdrew his gaze and looked at Alexander, "I gave Miss Grace my business card not because I really wanted to poach your employee, but because I have a very good impression of Miss Grace and want to be friends with her."

Hearing this, Lila had a feeling something wasn't quite right.

Alexander sneered even more, "What does Mr. Morris mean by that? What do you mean you just want to be friends with my driver?"

Wesley spoke unhurriedly, "Mr. Sinclair, to be honest with you, I fell for Miss Grace at first sight."

Hearing this, Alexander's blue eyes remained calm.

But the calmer they were, the more turbulent underneath.

Finally, he twitched the corner of his mouth and said with unclear meaning, "Is that so?"

Wesley now looked at Lila candidly, "Before meeting Miss Grace, I never had feelings for any woman. I even thought I'd never fall in love or get married in this lifetime, but after seeing her, just one look, and I knew she was the person I wanted."

Hearing this, Lila didn't know what to think for a moment.

She just felt she had no time to appreciate Wesley's affection. Her mind was full of thoughts that this partnership was probably doomed!

Because of him, the more he said, the worse things got!

At first, Alexander at least only thought he was trying to covet his employee, but now?

He was coveting his wife!

Now, truly no one could save Wesley.

But Wesley had no idea about her marriage to Alexander, and his words of affection continued, "With so many people in this world, it's not easy to meet someone who truly makes you want to marry them. That's why, even knowing it was an inappropriate occasion, I still resolutely walked toward her and handed her my business card."

Having said all this, he looked at Lila apologetically, "Miss Grace, I'm sorry. I didn't originally plan to say all this on such an occasion, but Mr. Sinclair misunderstood that I wanted to poach his employee, which would affect our partnership, so I could only tell the truth."
