Chapter 221

Chapter 221

If Alexander remembered correctly, they had a routine hug after work in the evening.

He looked away and quickly drove the car out.

Lila sat in the passenger seat admiring the beautiful roses, looking at them, smelling them, and finally taking out her phone to take pictures. She was completely unaware of what kind of romantic thoughts were brewing in Alexander's mind in the driver's seat.

Twenty minutes later, the car stopped at Island Mansion.

Lila pushed open the car door and got out, standing obediently in place waiting for Alexander to come over, planning to go home with him together.

However, when she saw the dark look in his eyes as he got out of the car and looked at her, a bad feeling suddenly arose in her heart.

She started walking toward the house.

Alexander quickly caught up with her, his large hand grabbing hers: "Mrs. Sinclair, why are you running?"

"I'm not running."

"Walking so fast, what for?"

It was because his gaze was too intimidating.

But she didn't say that.

Lila made up a random excuse: "I'm a bit thirsty, want to go home and drink some water."

He responded with a very faint sound, then pulled her through the front door.

Alexander changed his shoes first and walked into the living room with his long strides.

Lila followed him with her peripheral vision and noticed Alexander walk to the water dispenser and lean down to fill a cup.

He walked to the sofa with the cup in hand, his gaze looking toward her ten meters away, issuing a command: "Come drink water."

Her expression changed slightly as she mechanically walked over, wondering what Alexander was up to.

From thinking the cups she touched were dirty to actively getting water for her to drink, Alexander had taken less than half a month. Looking at him now, Lila wondered what kind of charm she had to make a company CEO warm up to her so easily.

After stopping at the sofa, he handed her the water.

Lila freed one hand from holding the flowers and took the cup, drinking in small sips.

She was hesitating whether to finish the water in the cup or just put it on the coffee table when she heard Alexander say: "Put down your flowers, we'll find a vase for them later."

Lila immediately refused: "No need."

Alexander raised an eyebrow: "What, you want to throw them away?"

"Of course not, this is the first time I've received flowers. I usually watch videos and see many dried flower tutorials. I'm planning to make this bouquet into dried flowers too, so I can keep them forever."

"If you like them, I can send you flowers every day."

As he spoke, he moved closer to her, took the cup from her hand and placed it on the coffee table, then took the flowers from her arms and put them aside as well.

During this process, Alexander's deep and complex eyes locked onto her face, carefully studying every expression that appeared on it.

Lila's heart was in chaos under this burning gaze.

She mechanically shook her head: "No need to send them every day, that would be too wasteful. Although fresh flowers are beautiful, dried flowers have their own beauty, and the process of making dried flowers is part of the fun."

Alexander nodded: "Okay, whatever you say."

Whatever she says?

These words sounded unusually pleasant coming from Alexander's mouth, but also made her feel flattered.

Lila was thinking she needed to quickly find some excuse to leave when her hand hanging at her side was pulled up by Alexander.

He held her soft, innocent little hand, playing with it freely.

Lila's expression changed: "What are you doing?"

"We need to hug when we come home in the evening, did you forget?"

"But hugging doesn't require holding hands."

As she spoke, she glanced down at the hand he was holding: "You've already held my hand more than once today."

Alexander looked down at her from above, his lips curving slightly, and when he spoke, his deep voice carried a certain inexplicable allure: "I'm holding your hand, you don't like it?"
