Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Ethan smiled. "I get it, I won't ruin your image in your boss's eyes."

Lila laughed to herself.

Her image in Alexander's eyes didn't need anyone else to ruin it.

Twenty minutes later.

As soon as Ethan's car pulled up at the entrance of the Sinclair Group, Lila saw Gaia and Alexander standing by the door.

Lila quickly got out of the car and jogged over.

When she stopped, she caught a glimpse of Alexander staring at her like a sharp knife, as if he wanted to settle the score for her hanging up on him.

Lila automatically ignored that look and turned to Gaia. "Grandma, why did you come out?"

"Waiting for you to go eat. How was driving practice this morning?"

"Pretty good. My classmate has driving experience and told me a lot of things to watch out for. I learned quite a bit."

As she spoke, Lila turned to look at the car.

Alexander's gaze followed hers.

Ethan had already gotten out of the car and was walking over.

When Alexander saw it was a man, his eyes instantly turned cold. He glanced at Lila with a sneer. "In such a short time, you've already hooked up with a man. Miss Grace, you really have skills."

Lila glared at him. "You talk so nasty."

"Exactly." Gaia chimed in.

Ethan walked over and looked at Gaia. "You must be Gaia. Hello, I'm Ethan."

Gaia nodded. "Hello, hello."

Ethan then looked at Alexander. "You must be Lila's boss? I'm her classmate Ethan. We had a pretty good relationship at school and often worked on projects together."

Alexander stared at him without saying a word.

Ethan felt a bit uncomfortable under the stare and rubbed the back of his head, glancing at Lila. "Right, Lila?"

"Yes."

After casually responding, Lila looked at Gaia. "Grandma, shall we go eat?"

"Let's go."

With those words, Gaia withdrew her arm from Alexander's.

Lila tactfully took hold of her.

Ethan opened the back door of his car. "Gaia, would you like to sit here?"

"Sure, sure, I can sit anywhere." As she was getting in, she glanced at Alexander.

Alexander also walked over, his tone commanding. "Grandma will ride in my car."

Gaia asked bluntly. "Didn't you say you weren't going to eat just now? What's this about?"

"That was just now. I'm hungry now."

After he spoke, Gaia glanced at Lila. "You help Grandma wait here. I'll have Charlie bring the car out."

"Can't we all just ride in my classmate's car? There's enough room anyway. Why bother Charlie?"

"I have a cleanliness thing. I never sit in places that aren't clean."

Lila was stunned by that remark.

Did he even know how to talk?

Her classmate was right here, and he said something so hurtful. How was she supposed to face Ethan?

He was infuriating!

Lila looked apologetically at Ethan, covering her mouth with one hand and whispering. "Ethan, my boss has terrible emotional intelligence. Don't take it personally."

Ethan smiled at Lila. "Don't worry, I don't mind."

This scene caught Alexander's eye, and he immediately felt annoyed. He reached out and pulled Lila to his side, his icy tone like a bucket of cold water pouring over her head. "In broad daylight, standing so close to talk to a strange man. Lila, do you not care about your reputation anymore?"
