"What improper relationship?" he pressed.
Lila looked at him awkwardly.
She didn't understand. Did this really need translation?
Alexander's deep eyes fell on her face. Watching her go silent, he suddenly stepped forward, backing her against the car in a few strides, staring down at her. "In your eyes, a legal husband and wife is an improper relationship?"
"No, I mean, Ms. Hill doesn't know."
"Who told you she doesn't know?"
Lila had been deliberately avoiding his gaze when talking to Alexander, but hearing this, she suddenly looked up to meet his intense eyes. She even started stuttering: "You... what do you mean?"
He didn't answer. Instead, he grabbed her arm and walked to the passenger side, opened the door, and pushed her inside.
This time, Alexander even thoughtfully leaned in to pull the seatbelt across and fasten it for her.
After buckling it, Alexander didn't immediately pull back from the car. His dark eyes rested on Lila's face. "Don't let me see you sneaking around like that again. You and I have a secret marriage, not an affair. Understand?"
Lila looked at the handsome face so close to hers, saw the determination in his eyes, and somehow nodded.
Alexander's lips curved with satisfaction. He raised his hand, his calloused fingertips lingering as they brushed across her face, his pleasant voice carrying a threat: "Remember this—if there's a next time, I'll send out a company-wide email letting everyone know you're my wife."
Lila felt helpless about Alexander's complete disregard for their prenuptial agreement.
But this definitely couldn't be allowed to happen.
Alexander slammed the passenger door shut, walked around the front of the car, and got into the driver's seat.
The car soon drove out of the underground parking garage.
Lila let out a long breath.
About five minutes after they'd driven off, her mind was still processing that sentence he'd said earlier: "Who told you she doesn't know?"
So, Ms. Hill knew about her relationship with Alexander?
Curiosity drove Lila to turn her head toward him. After hesitating several times, she finally spoke: "Boss, does Ms. Hill actually know about our relationship or not?"
Alexander glanced at her from the corner of his eye and answered her question with a question: "Do you know how many women in the company who desire me?"
"I know a lot of female employees like you."
"So, are you planning to avoid every female employee in the company the same way you're avoiding Ms. Hill?"
Lila pressed her lips together and spoke slowly: "Generally speaking, as long as we don't act too intimate, I don't need to avoid them. The main thing is that today in your office, Ms. Hill saw us standing very close together. If she saw us holding hands in the parking garage too, she'd start guessing about our relationship."
Alexander asked dismissively, "So what?"
She mumbled quietly: "Then Ms. Hill would think I'm trying to seduce you."
"Seduce?"
He repeated the word with a raised tone, then laughed coldly. "Plenty of women try to seduce me, but not just any woman can make me take the bait. If you can actually seduce me, that's your skill."
Lila had no response to this statement.
That kind of skill, she could do without.

Lila gathered her thoughts and casually looked out the car window, only to catch a glimpse of the cityscape outside,this wasn't the route back to Island Mansion at all.
She looked at Alexander in confusion: "Boss, are you lost?"
He snorted disdainfully and didn't respond.
Lila reminded him again: "What are you snorting about? This isn't the way home. You're going the wrong way."
Alexander frowned and spoke impatiently: "Shut up! I know my way around."
