Chapter 104
Lila banged on the door while shouting, "Honey? Alex—"
Just as her hand was about to hit the door again, it was pulled open from inside, followed by Alexander's angry voice, "Are you crazy..."
Before he could finish, Alexander saw the two men standing behind Lila.
His gaze paused slightly, then returned to normal as he said flatly, "What are you doing here?"
John glanced at Lila, and when his eyes landed on Alexander's face, there was a hint of curiosity in them.
He said with a grin, "Your wife said you were injured, but you refused to go to the hospital with her. She asked me to find a doctor to come check on you, so I brought Dr. Harris."
After he finished speaking, Dr. Harris also chimed in, "How are you feeling? Still conscious?"
Alexander coldly dropped a line, "I'm fine."
Seeing him dismiss it so casually, Lila couldn't help but interject, "You're not a doctor, how would you know you're fine? We can only be sure after Dr. Harris examines you."
Alexander immediately scolded her, "Is it your place to speak?"
Lila shut her mouth.
She lowered her eyes, shifted her legs, and quietly moved to the side.
John's gaze swept across Lila's face before finally settling on Alexander's, "You're way too harsh on the little bunny, aren't you? No wonder she hit you with something. I'd say you deserved it."
Hearing this, Alexander's look at Lila grew even colder.
She actually told John that she was the one who hit his head?
Meeting his gaze, Lila couldn't help but shiver.
She naturally knew Alexander felt she'd made him lose face in front of John. After all, being injured by a woman did sound pretty pathetic.
Seeing that Alexander had no intention of cooperating with the examination, Dr. Harris walked behind him on his own initiative, lifted his hand to part his hair, and when he caught sight of the wound, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes.
He couldn't help but glance at Lila too.
Lila looked completely innocent.
Dr. Harris said with a smile playing on his lips, "How was this wound treated?"
"Disinfected with hydrogen peroxide, then some dressing was applied."
"When Mrs. Sinclair cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide, did she ask if it hurt?"
Lila answered reflexively, "I asked."
Dr. Harris glanced at her, "What did your husband say?"
Lila thought for a moment.
What did he say?
He said so what if it hurts, then she said he should cry out to vent, then he said the only thing he needed to vent was desire.
She definitely couldn't tell Dr. Harris that.
Alexander probably also recalled saying something inappropriate, and glared at Dr. Harris irritably, "Why so much nonsense? You've seen it, now leave. I'm fine."
Dr. Harris said, "You're not fine."
Hearing "not fine," Lila quickly asked, "Dr. Harris, is my husband's condition serious?"
"The wound is deep and needs stitches, at least three." After responding, Dr. Harris stared at Lila with a half-smile, "Also, what did you hit him with?"
Before she could answer, Alexander asked impatiently, "You're asking too many questions."
Compared to Alexander, Dr. Harris was much more patient, "I'm asking from the perspective of considering the patient's wellbeing. If it was glass, I need to check if there are any foreign objects in the wound, which might cause you some discomfort."
"I hit him with a wireless charger." After answering, Lila carefully added, "But the charger is fine, so there shouldn't be any foreign objects in his wound."
Dr. Harris raised his eyebrows slightly, "Is that so? Seems like Mrs. Sinclair didn't hold back when she struck."
