Chapter 18 Running
"How about this, Andrew? What should we do now?" Leana said weakly while holding a piece of paper that she found on the child's bed.
Andrew Leiven was calling someone who of course was his daughter but no answer.
"Her phone's off, Leana. Where did she go? Jeez Kelsey, did you really go?" Andrew said.
Andrew Leiven was so angry at his daughter and had said harsh words to Kelsey but he didn't think his daughter would really take what he said last night seriously. He was just emotional and of course had no intention of kicking him out.
How about now? The old man pensively lamented his mistake that he couldn't help himself and instead made his only daughter leave the house.
This wasn't what he expected. This wasn't what he wanted. However, it looked like the rice had turned to mush. No matter how much Andrew regretted his actions, his daughter had chosen to leave there.
"Did she take any of her important stuff, Leana?" Andrew asked sadly.
"Yes, the passport isn't there," Leana answered sadly.
Andrew closed his eyes sadly.
"Where should we look for her, Andrew? She ... She's pregnant and I think she's still very young. Early pregnancy is dangerous. What if anything happens to Kelsey? How about it, Andrew?" Leana raved as she had now started crying in a bit of a daze.
"I'll look for her, Leana. I'll try to find her," Andrew said and he immediately got up from his chair.
Leana said, "Find her, Andrew. Bring her home!"
He nodded, rubbed his wife's arm gently then disappeared in the early morning. Leana could only look blankly in the direction her husband had gone. She also regretted that she felt she had failed as a mother.
How could she not realize that her biological daughter was pregnant with two? Even though they live under the same roof but she was not even sensitive to her daughter's condition.
"Kels, why did you suddenly ask to meet at this early in the morning?" Samantha asked with a sleepy face but both of them were already dressed neatly.
"Yes, my God. We can meet at the office, Kels," Emily said.
Kelsey stared at her two best friends as if she would never see them again.
"I'm going to say goodbye," Kelsey replied calmly.
Samantha's eyes, which were still slightly closed, immediately opened wide.
"What do you mean by goodbye? Where are you going?" Samantha asked suspiciously.
They hadn't touched their breakfast at all.
"Out of town," Kelsey answered curtly.
Emily glared in surprise, "Vacation? Why didn't you tell me you were taking time off?"
Emily scowled.
Kelsey smiled slightly, "No. I'm resigning. I've sent a letter of resignation to Mr. Reis before meeting you."
"WHAT?" Emily and Samantha screamed in unison.
"You're kidding right, Kels?" Emily asked in shock.
Kelsey shook her head "I'm serious. I'm leaving town today."
Samantha paused for a few seconds before bombarding Kelsey with several questions at once, "What has happened? Is there a problem in your family? How's your wedding going? There are only a few days left for your wedding. Do your parents know about this?"
Kelsey chuckled at all of that. If she could answer the truth, she would definitely say it.
However, she couldn't possibly tell the truth so she chose to say, "There was something that made me have to leave here.
Basically, my marriage is annulled. And ah, I think it's time for me to go, I'm going now. The bus will be leaving soon."
Choosing to avoid the question, Kelsey lied to them. Samantha wanted to chase her but was held back by Emily.
The girl shouted, "When you arrive, don't forget to call us, OK?"
Kelsey turned and answered quietly, "Okay. "
With heavy steps she walked out of the cafe and as she was walking away, she accidentally saw Weylin Malachy walking towards her.
Shit, what is he doing here? Why do I have to meet him now? What should I do? Do I just run? Uh, but it's only about five meters away, Kelsey muttered inwardly.
Weylin looked at the woman who would soon become Madame Malachy, his wife.
"What are you doing here so early in the morning, Miss Leiven?" Weylin asked in his cold voice.
Kelsey did not answer and chose to ignore it. The woman then walked over without turning to Weylin.
Weylin who felt ignored immediately grabbed Kelsey's hand, "Do you now dare to ignore your future husband?"
Kelsey tugged at Weylin's hand and replied, "Don't you really hate me? What are you talking to me for?"
Weylin's jaw tightened, annoyed because he should be the one who had the right to be angry for being forced to marry Kelsey but why did it feel like Kelsey was the one angry with him now?
"Yes, you're absolutely right. I really hate you and because of you now I can't chase the woman I like. Are you satisfied now? You will be my wife, the wife of a Weylin Malachy. Are you happy now, honorable Miss Lieven?" Weylin sneered.
Kelsey's heart immediately filled with anger, "Uh, it seems I have made your love story go wrong huh? Too bad, then. But it seems that woman should be thanking me.”
Weylin froze, “What do you mean?”
"She should be thanking me for not needing to be in love again with a jerk like you. Who has dared to force women to make love to him, a man who has no pride," Kelsey said sharply.
Weylin's face turned pale, "You ... uh, look who's talking about pride? How about you? You lost your virginity when we made love and now you speak as if you were a mere human being, Miss Lieven. Isn't this so funny?"
Weylin forced a laugh into his lips.
Kelsey couldn't help but slap him. No matter how many times she slapped Weylin and she didn't care. She really wanted to teach Weylin a lesson even if it was just a slap.
"At least I never did it that way forced, Mr. Malachy. The person who got the crown never forced me and he valued me a lot unlike you who can't treat women well. Are you a boy? I doubt it now," Kelsey said sharply.
Weylin clenched his fists. His knuckles were even white.
He had never been this angry with anyone. If this person standing with that look of hatred at him was a man, he would have beaten him to the punch already. Weylin couldn't possibly hit a woman so he couldn't help but swallow his frustration and walked closer to Kelsey.
In a cold voice he said, "After we get married, I swear I'll make you feel sorry for making me marry you. Just you wait, Miss Lieven!"
