Chapter 194 Feeding Soup

Chapter 194 Feeding Soup

Olivia had no idea whether what Cameron said was true or if he was just trying to fool her. Thinking back to when they arrived, she couldn't really remember seeing anything in the yard that could easily be blown over.

Maybe there was something, and she just hadn't noticed.

She rushed to lock the bedroom door, as if doing so would make things safer.

She even touched the door to make sure it was solid material, not something that could be easily pried open by just anyone.

Cameron walked over and tried to comfort her, "Listen, isn't it all quiet now?"

"How about we just go to sleep? Everything will be fine when we wake up."

Olivia wanted to say, that's not how you comfort a child, but she didn't argue. "Then close all the glass walls around us, just leave the one overhead."

Even though people outside couldn't see in, she still felt weird about it. This was her first time, and she wasn't quite used to it.

Cameron picked up the remote and pressed a button.

The originally transparent glass walls on all four sides suddenly had panels slowly rising up, blocking out all the outdoor scenery, leaving only the transparent glass ceiling.

Olivia immediately felt much more at ease.

She perked up her ears - there really wasn't any noise outside anymore.

"Let's go to sleep then."

She could hold out a bit longer, but she was already at her limit.

"Okay, get some sleep." Cameron pulled back the covers and let Olivia lie down. "I'll sleep on the sofa over there. If you need anything, just call out."

Olivia glanced at the not-very-spacious sofa and said flatly, "Sleep on the bed, it's big enough."

Little did she know, this was Cameron's strategy all along - deliberately saying he'd sleep on the sofa to win Olivia's sympathy. His plan had worked.

But when he saw Olivia setting up a barrier between them, he still felt a bit hurt.

He promised over and over that he wouldn't make any moves, and only then did he lie down.

Olivia ignored Cameron. She arranged the towel boundary line, then lay down and closed her eyes.

Thinking about the starry sky, Olivia opened her eyes again. Lying here watching the stars was a very special experience, and the man lying beside her...

Olivia thought Cameron must be feeling the same way.

But then she heard Cameron's soft snoring - he seemed really tired.

Turns out she was the only one getting all worked up over nothing.

She couldn't help but smile, slowly turning on her side to face Cameron.

In the soft moonlight filtering through the glass, Olivia quietly looked at Cameron's face. His features appeared especially striking in the night, his long lashes trembling slightly with each breath, and below his prominent nose, his lips had soft lines.

She had to admit, Cameron was really handsome.

He looked so peaceful like this, especially endearing, making Olivia unconsciously reach out her hand, though she didn't actually touch him, just traced his features in the air.

Before, Olivia used to do this too. She would coax Cameron to sleep first, then go to sleep herself.

Even though Cameron had been in that foolish state back then, often frustrating her with his childlike behavior, looking at his handsome face made it impossible to stay mad.

Olivia watched quietly, her eyelids growing heavy, slowly drifting off to sleep.

In the middle of the night, Olivia felt a bit cold, but the next second she warmed up, as if wrapped in a thick blanket, with a faint scent of pine.

It was a scent she loved, calming and peaceful.

She slept dreamlessly through the night.

The next morning, when Cameron opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Olivia in his arms. He couldn't help but smile. If he remembered correctly, Olivia had thrown herself into his arms on her own last night.

Probably because she was cold.

Afraid Olivia might catch a chill, Cameron pulled the blanket over her, tucking her in properly.

But seeing Olivia's cheeks slightly flushed, Cameron frowned. He instinctively leaned his forehead close to hers to check her temperature.

Just then, Olivia suddenly woke up, still groggy.

Seeing Cameron so close, she didn't push him away.

"What's wrong?"

"You have a slight fever." Cameron quickly got up. "Stay in the room and wait for me. I'll go make you some chicken soup; it'll be quick."

Olivia mumbled something in response and hugged the blanket tight.

After some time, Cameron came in with chicken soup, helped Olivia sit up, and fed her small sips.

But the soup was a bit hot, and Olivia turned her head away in resistance, causing some soup to spill on her. Cameron grabbed the tissues he'd prepared and quickly wiped her face.

"You need to drink some chicken soup and sweat it out, then you'll be fine."

But just smelling it made Olivia unwilling. Her eyes reddened, looking pitiful. "Don't want it, won't drink it."

Especially with those watery eyes brimming with tears.

Cameron's heart went out to her.

He could only add more water to dilute it, though this meant she'd have to drink for longer.

"It's not as strong now, drink some."

"You drink it." Olivia was being a bit bratty, struggling to get out of Cameron's embrace. "I'll just sleep it off, no need to go through all this trouble."

"Then take medicine." Cameron deliberately put on a stern face. "Right now you have two choices - either drink the chicken soup or take medicine."

Olivia bit her lip. She definitely couldn't choose the medicine.

After a moment, she gave in.

"I'll drink the soup, but put it aside for now, I'll drink it myself later..."

Before Olivia could finish, Cameron took a sip of the soup himself, then held her chin and transferred it mouth-to-mouth, deepening the kiss.

The sudden kiss left Olivia completely stunned.

Olivia's adorable expression was like a catalyst, stirring up the desire in Cameron's eyes. It seemed like it had been so long since he'd been with Olivia, and right now all he wanted was to make love to her.

That's what he thought, and that's what he started to do.

The next second, Olivia quickly pressed both hands against Cameron's chest, shaking her head repeatedly. "No, I'm sick! And we're in the middle of getting divorced!"

"We're not in that kind of relationship anymore!"

Rejected by Olivia, Cameron felt completely deflated. He was very disappointed, but he didn't force her. Instead, he held the soup bowl and said hoarsely, "Fine, drink the soup first, then I'll take the bowl to wash."

Sensing something, Olivia's face turned bright red. She had to put some distance between herself and Cameron, then took the soup and drank it before burrowing under the covers.

Looking at the bulge on the bed, Cameron sighed inwardly.

He took the bowl out, then went to the shower to take a cold shower, otherwise it was just too uncomfortable.

Olivia heard the sound of doors opening and closing and breathed a sigh of relief. She felt that sweating it out like this had made her feel much better, though being covered in sweat was very uncomfortable.

She tried going to the walk-in closet and actually found clothes that fit her.

A whole row of loose dresses.

Loose dresses.

Olivia didn't think much of it. She grabbed a dress and headed to the shower - she couldn't stand it for another second.

"You're going to shower?"

Hearing Cameron's voice, Olivia turned around and happened to see Cameron fresh from his shower. She stopped dead in her tracks, her gaze unconsciously falling on Cameron's beautiful abs and V-line...
