Chapter 193 Praise Men More

Chapter 193 Praise Men More

From initial resistance to now acceptance, Olivia couldn't wait to go inside. She wanted to see what the view would look like from inside looking out.

It would definitely be as beautiful and romantic as a movie scene.

Cameron walked ahead, skillfully entering the password to open the door. The interior was simple yet stylish, with warm yellow lighting that gave off a cozy and comfortable feeling.

He stood at the doorway and stepped aside.

Olivia walked in.

She couldn't help looking around, noticing that every detail was handled just right.

Her beautiful eyes lit up with sparkles.

Clearly, Olivia was very satisfied and really liked this place.

Cameron smiled as he walked toward the kitchen. "Are you tired? Later, we can sleep in the open-air room, falling asleep while looking at the stars. It's really nice."

Since this was Olivia's first time here, Cameron worried she might have trouble sleeping in a new bed or suffer from insomnia. He wanted to warm up some milk for her.

From the moment he decided to bring Olivia here, he had someone stock the fridge.

Olivia sat down on the sofa, watching Cameron's busy figure, feeling something unusual in her heart.

It was a feeling she found hard to describe.

Like warm winter sunshine, snuggled up in soft blankets, surrounded and filled with a sense of security.

Soon, Cameron came over with water. "Here, drink some water."

"Or is there anything you want to eat?"

"A little protein at night won't hurt. If you're hungry, should I pan-fry you a steak?"

Olivia wanted to say no, but she was actually hungry, so she nodded. "Okay, thanks."

Of course, she wasn't one to just sit there while someone else did all the work.

She stood up, then remembered she was pregnant and sat back down.

Cameron noticed Olivia's behavior and thought it was a bit odd, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he took off his suit jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and walked into the kitchen to get busy.

While waiting, Olivia walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking out at the dark night filled with stars.

If there were a meteor shower, it would be even better.

Olivia laughed at her own thought. Nowadays, people probably don't believe that making wishes on shooting stars will come true, right?

If it could... why haven't any of the wishes she made ever come true?

While busy in the kitchen, Cameron would occasionally turn around to see where Olivia was and what she was doing.

Watching Olivia's profile as she gazed at the night sky, he felt a surge of tenderness—a long-lost impulse to hold her tightly in his arms.

But he also knew that if he actually did that, it would only push Olivia further away.

When the smell of grilled steak and rosemary filled the air, Olivia instinctively swallowed. She waited a moment, not wanting to seem too eager.

Sure enough, Cameron spoke first. "Olivia, the steak is ready. Come over."

The corners of Olivia's lips quietly curved up.

She walked to the dining table unhurriedly and sat down.

Cameron had already brought the steak to the table and thoughtfully cut it into small pieces, with fresh vegetables and pasta on the side. It looked very appetizing.

He placed the pre-cut steak in front of Olivia.

"Try it and see if you like it."

Olivia took the knife and fork, gently spearing a piece of steak and putting it in her mouth. The meat was tender and juicy, perfectly seasoned. Being fair, she had to give him some praise.

"It's good. You got the temperature just right."

Nothing motivated a man like a woman's approval.

Right now, Cameron couldn't hide his pleasure and broke into a smile.

"Pan-frying steak doesn't take much time. If you like it, you can come find me often."

Olivia smiled but didn't give a clear answer.

After dinner, Cameron first cleaned up the dishes and put them in the dishwasher. His tone was cheerful. "We just ate, so how about walking around a bit?"

Olivia was thinking the same thing. She was hoping for even more beautiful scenery.

Under Cameron's guidance, Olivia came to the huge open-air bedroom, where there was also an expensive astronomical telescope. Cameron invited Olivia to come to the telescope.

Olivia walked to the telescope with some curiosity and anticipation.

"How do I use it?"

"It's actually very simple. Let me explain a bit, and you'll definitely know how to operate it."

Hearing Cameron say this, Olivia was slightly stunned, a bit surprised. It seemed like in Cameron's eyes, she was smart.

She had been curious about how Cameron saw her.

Later, she gave up thinking about such things.

"What's wrong? Is there something you don't understand?" Cameron saw Olivia not speaking and looked down at her. "Should I explain it again? Maybe I made it too complicated."

Olivia shook her head. "No, I understand."

Cameron nodded slightly and stepped aside. "If there's anything you don't get, just tell me."

When Olivia looked through the telescope at that distant and mysterious starry sky, the stars looked close enough to touch. She couldn't help but gasp in amazement, murmuring to herself, "So beautiful."

Nearby, Cameron's eyes were full of tenderness.

"If you like it, we can come here often to look at the stars."

Olivia was focused on the dreamlike Milky Way and didn't respond to Cameron's words.

Cameron didn't need Olivia to answer right now either.

But he knew that some things he had to say, some things he had to do. As for how Olivia would respond, that was for Olivia to decide.

Around midnight, Olivia started feeling sleepy.

Remembering Cameron's suggestion, she forced herself to stay awake. "I'm not tired yet. If you're sleepy, go ahead and sleep first. Don't worry about me."

Cameron didn't know what Olivia was thinking and assumed she really wasn't tired. He was willing to stay up with her.

"It's fine, I'm not sleepy either."

Olivia fought off her drowsiness and asked casually, "What's this open-air bedroom you mentioned like? Is it a glass room? Won't the animals here watch us sleep during the day?"

Cameron gestured for her to follow.

His lips curved into a smile. "It can be all glass, or just open at the top. And this glass only lets you see out from inside—you can't see in from outside. The privacy is very good."

Hearing this, Olivia breathed a sigh of relief.

She didn't want to wake up being watched by passersby.

As if knowing what Olivia was thinking, Cameron joked, "Generally speaking, not many people come here, unless they're mountain climbers or camping adventurers."

But Olivia suddenly thought of certain horror movies and couldn't help shivering.

Just then, there was a sudden noise outside.

"I'll go check it out," Cameron said.

"Don't go!" Olivia quickly grabbed Cameron, shaking her head frantically and saying nervously, "If the doors and windows are locked, we shouldn't go out to check. It might be someone outside trying to lure us out."

Cameron held Olivia's hand in return. "Okay, I won't go. It's probably just the wind blowing something over in the yard."
