Chapter 245: Larry's Anger

Chapter 245: Larry's Anger

"You forgot that you were praising her abilities just a while ago, saying no one else could compare to her?" Noah said. "Besides, you know what really happened with the car accident three years ago, don't you?"

"Vivian has been setting traps since five years ago, framing Phoebe, blackmailing me, and calculating the attitudes of the White family, the Foster family, and the Bell family. For someone who can plan all this, what's so strange about it?"

Larry's expression shifted, and finally, he said sarcastically, "Nothing strange about it at all. You managed to use your two aunts and Domingo in your scheme against me. What can't you young people do?"

"You flatter me, Grandpa. If I hadn't been pushed to the edge, I wouldn't have desperately asked Domingo for help," Noah said.

Larry snorted, "You really think that with them protecting you, the White Group is yours?"

"I wouldn't dare think that," Noah said. "You're so experienced - no matter how much I struggle, I'm still under your control."

Though he said this, his expression showed a hint of indifference.

Larry looked at him with a dark expression and suddenly started coughing.

"Larry, are you alright?" Patricia's face was full of worry, tears already forming in her eyes.

Larry covered his mouth with a handkerchief, coughing violently without responding.

"Patricia, don't worry. Grandpa won't have any problems until he's arranged everything for Neil," Noah said casually.

Larry grabbed a cup and threw it. Reid happened to walk in at that moment, and the cup hit him right in the face before rolling to the floor.

"Grandpa, you should control your temper. It's not good for your health," Noah reminded him gently.

Larry gripped his handkerchief tightly, a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth. "Get out! Both of you get out right now, and don't come back without my orders!"

"Mr. White, please don't be angry. We're leaving now." Phoebe's face was full of panic as she pulled Noah away from the hall.

Larry stared at their backs with a sinister gaze until they disappeared from view, then covered his mouth with the handkerchief and started coughing.

He coughed for quite a while before stopping. The handkerchief was covered in blood.

Patricia trembled as she took the bloodstained handkerchief and urged, "Larry, you should go back to the hospital for treatment."

"Go back to the hospital for treatment, lose all my hair, and still die in the end without any dignity?" Larry shot back.

"But didn't they say they've developed new cancer drugs? You should try them - maybe they'll work for you!" Patricia said.

"What new drugs! The clinical trials had problems, and they were all withdrawn! I invested so much money and got nothing useful in return!" Larry threw his cane onto the table and sat down on the sofa with Patricia's support.

Reid stood quietly to the side. The cup had hit him right on the forehead, which was now swollen like a bump, looking somewhat comical.

"How's the investigation I asked you to do?" Larry asked.

"Among the White family members and their partners, no one is pregnant. One of Owen's mistresses is pregnant, but..." Reid said.

Before he could finish, Larry interrupted, "But what? If she's pregnant, bring her to me!"

"Owen has led a messy private life these years and is physically weak. It's unlikely he could get anyone pregnant," Reid said, lowering his head.

Larry struck the table hard with his cane. "A bunch of useless people!"

Vivian used him, and Jackson dared to play him for a fool, too. These people were completely out of control!

——

The wound on Phoebe's arm wasn't serious, but Noah still took her to the hospital to have it properly bandaged.

Since tomorrow would mark exactly one week, Phoebe took the opportunity to see Victor about her leg, so she wouldn't need to come again tomorrow.

"It's healing very well, much better than I expected," Victor said, gently rolling up Phoebe's pant leg under Noah's slightly cool gaze, examining her calf and thigh bit by bit.

Hearing this, Phoebe's expression relaxed considerably. "Then, Dr. Lewis, when do you think my leg will be fully healed?"

Larry already knew about Yvonne helping her fake the results, and she still didn't know how to bring it up.

Both Victor and Yvonne had been so good to her, but now Yvonne would be implicated because of her.

"Based on the current situation, about six months," Victor smiled slightly. "Congratulations, Ms. Foster."

Noah looked at Phoebe's exposed leg, his brow furrowing slightly. He stepped forward, wanting to pull down her pant leg.

"What's the rush, Mr. White?" Victor grabbed his wrist and smiled. "I still need to treat her."

That smile was really unpleasant to look at. Noah said expressionlessly, "This is the first time I've seen Dr. Lewis's examination and treatment method, requiring touch bit by bit."

"Then perhaps Mr. White's knowledge is somewhat limited. You could read more professional books in the future," Victor said, letting go and reaching for medical equipment.

Noah suddenly spoke up, "I just remembered something related to Dr. Lewis."

"Related to me?" Victor asked.

Noah raised an eyebrow slightly. "Strictly speaking, it's not entirely related to Dr. Lewis. I just wanted to mention that my grandfather knows about your mother helping Phoebe fake the pregnancy test."

The smile instantly disappeared from Victor's face. "I have something to attend to. Please excuse me. I'll have another nurse come help with your treatment shortly."

Phoebe wanted to say something more, but he had already left in a hurry.

"Feeling guilty?" Noah looked down at her.

Having had her thoughts guessed by him too many times, Phoebe was only slightly surprised before nodding. "I got Yvonne in trouble."

"What do you think her motive was for helping you?" Noah noticed a strand of her hair falling and naturally reached out to tuck it behind her ear.

Phoebe looked up at him.

"She couldn't have taken such a big risk just because Debra likes you," Noah paused before continuing. "I promised her certain benefits."

Hearing this, Phoebe lowered her eyes, her fists clenching slightly. "Okay."

This was better - she didn't need to feel indebted to anyone.

But somehow, she still felt uncomfortable.

Perhaps this was why people didn't want to grow up - reality was always frighteningly cruel.

There was no absolute right or wrong; everyone just had their own motives.

*

Larry rarely acted impulsively. Before doing anything, he would weigh the pros and cons first, then decide whether to proceed.

But this time, being schemed against by several youngsters, Larry really couldn't swallow this insult.

Not long after Noah and Phoebe left, he took several people with him to the Bell Group.

"Mr. White?" The receptionist was both excited and nervous, seeing this renowned figure for the first time.

Larry ignored her and turned to Reid instead. "What floor is Vivian on?"

"Twenty-eighth floor," Reid answered.

Larry nodded, his expression dark as he walked toward the elevator.

Reid followed beside him and pressed the up button.

Seeing this, the receptionist quickly said, "Mr. White, this elevator is rather slow. Why don't you wait a moment? I'll call Ms. Bell and have her come down to greet you."

Larry frowned. "So much nonsense!"

What kind of person dared to talk so much in front of him!

Reid gave the two bodyguards beside him a look. Understanding immediately, they grabbed the receptionist from both sides and tossed her aside.

The commotion wasn't small, and many employees sneaked glances this way, but no one dared speak up for the receptionist, and no one dared to stop Larry.

The elevator arrived. Larry walked in first, with Reid and the others following closely behind.

Several other people were waiting for the elevator, but they directly pressed the close button, with no intention of letting these people on.

Actually, these people hadn't planned to get on anyway - they didn't have the nerve to share a space with Larry.

The elevator quickly reached the twenty-eighth floor. Larry, leaning on his cane, walked straight to Vivian's office door.

He didn't knock, but directly used his cane to forcefully push the door open.
