Chapter 38

LEXI TYLER:

"I need to use the restroom" I said to her "There aren't restrooms here" she replied "Please, I need to ease myself" I pleaded She unfastened the ropes and led me to another part of the house where she told me to urinate Since the house was uncompleted, there were stones everywhere, so, I bent down in front of a big one and stylishly picked it up the ground without giving her any signs.

I slowly pulled down my night gown while still making sure that my grip on the stone was strong, slowly got up and hit her in the head with it at the first chance I got.

She fell down instantly and I used the opportunity to get her phone and her keys from her trouser pocket before rushing out of the room.

Thankfully, after my seventh try, I got the right key and I rushed out of the building like I've never ran before.

I ran out of the building only to meet trees and leaves and I screamed when the reality of where I was crashed into me. I was in a forest, a big forest to be precise.

I ran until I was sure that I was far away from the building before stopping, turned on her phone which wasn't locked and tried Jason's number

"Hello" I said urgently as soon as he picked

"Lexi!" He shouted "is that you?"

"It's me. Jason help me"

"Where are you?"

"I don't know where I am. I remembered sleeping on our bed last night" I cried "Stay put! I will find you, no matter where you are, I'm coming...."

I woke up with a crazy headache and found myself tied to the chair again "Who do you think you are dealing with" a familiar voice growled at me and before I could open my eyes to see who it was, the person punched me in the face.

She continued punching me until I felt blood in my mouth and until I could hardly think straight She stopped punching me "I told you not to mess with me" she said and gave me one more punch "This is on you"

"Pleeeease," I pleaded and spat out blood She used her hand to raise my head up and said "Look at me, because I might be one of the last people you will be seeing before you die"

I slowly opened my eyes but only one could open "Dixie!" I said shockingly and my mouth hurt "Yeah it's me. I told you not to mess with me"

"You killing me wouldn't make him to love you"

"Says the girl who is about to die" she punched me again "Jason is mine and mine alone"

"Do you know why he doesn't love you? It's because of who you are. You're nothing but a beast"

"Get me my gun" she shouted The girl that I hit in the head came forward and handed it to her "Jason wouldn't forgive you"

"As if he is ever going to find out."

"You're nothing but a beast"

She wrapped her hand to my neck and squeezed it until I could hardly breathe "I don't give a fuck about you or about that bastard in your womb, I'm going to kill you without regretting it," she said between gritted teeth before loosening her hand on my neck

I breathe in at a rapid pace until my heartbeat was back to normal "And do you want to know how I know everything about you?" I raised up my head and looked straight into her eyes "I think you have the right to know before you die. Babe!" She called "come out"

I heard someone's footsteps and readied myself to see Cynthia but saw Stephanie "Stephanie" I said unbelievably and that was when what happened when I woke up last night came back to me "it was you"

"Surprise!" Stephanie said "How dare you? I trusted you"

She strutted over to where I was and bent down until we were on the same eye level before talking "You shouldn't have trusted me"

"I thought you are a good person, someone I can call my friend"

"I was never your friend. Not then and not now. I was looking out from my friend"

Tears rolled down from my eyes "You sold me out"

"I've knew since the first time I saw you that you must be bad news and I wasn't wrong"

"You're both animals"

"We will see who the animal is when the bullet hit your forehead" she said before moving to the chair that was few meters away from me "I will never forgive you" I said while facing her "I don't need your forgiveness. Dixie!" She called "Yes"

"Kill her and let's move on" she said with an extremely cold voice that I could feel in my bones "Okay"

She raised the gun at my forehead, cocked it and I closed my eyes while waiting for the bullet "What was that?" Stephanie asked and I slowly opened my only one eye that was still working "Let me check it out" the girl that I hit in the head said, pulled out a gun and slowly went to the door. She opened the door quietly but the next thing we heard was a man's voice "Move" the man said When Dixie and Stephanie heard this, both of them came to where I was tied up and loosed the ropes in seconds before telling me to move with a gun placed at the back of my head We tip toed to another room and Stephanie was about to jump off the window of the room when a voice stopped us "Put down your gun" a police man commanded but Dixie was reluctant to do so "Don't you fucking put that down" Stephanie whispered to her Within seconds, there were up to four police in the room, so Dixie finally dropped the gun The police moved towards them while I moved away from them and decided to fall to the ground since I was too weak to continue walking "I get you" I heard Jason said

"Jason" I called "It's me. It's me. You are safe"

"I thought I will die"

"You're safe" he reassured again before looking at Dixie's direction "You're going to rot in prison where you belong, both of you" he growled "Jason I'm sorry" she started pleading as the police were dragging her and a quiet Stephanie away "Jason please save me. Give me one more chance. Jason....." She faded off "You're safe" Jason reassured again before carrying me to his car where his dad and mom awaited us
