Chapter 37

LEXI TYLER:

I woke up and found myself tied up to a chair in an uncompleted building, I struggled to get out of it but it was too tight.

"At last" someone said and I looked up to see a young, very thin girl in rag

"Please" I pleaded "You're asking for help from the wrong person"

"Please, where am I ?"

"You're at the final bus stop" she said and laughed "where bitches like you belong to"

"Am not a bad person" I said while struggling to get out of the chair "You are"

"I'm not"

"You are to me. Because once you started messing with my people, you've started messing with me"

"I don't even know who you are talking about"

"That means you've not regain your memory yet"

She put her hand inside her trouser pocket and brought out a phone to call someone "Hello" she said "Your friend just woke up," she said again and I wondered who she was talking to since I didn't have that many friends "Okay"

She hung up the phone, put her phone on a chair that was close to her and smiled at me again "I just called your friend"

"My friend will never hurt me"

"What if she did?"

"I know she won't. Cynthia will never hurt me"

"But Cynthia did baby girl and that is what is going to cost you your fucking life and that of the maggot in your womb"

"It's a baby, a baby boy" I said angrily She rushed to where I was sitting and hit me twice across the face in less than one seconds, my vision turned black instantly and I saw stars dancing in them "How dare you correct me when I'm talking to you" she said angrily She used her right hand to raise my head up and said "Open your eyes and look at me"

I opened my eyes as she commanded but I couldn't look her straight in the eyes "I told you to look at me" she echoed in my brain

I looked straight into her eyes this time around even though I found it uncomfortable "Good girl" she complimented and smiled before pulling her hand away from my head "Please... don't... hurt me" I stammered when she was few meters away from me "Just accept your fate"

"I can get you any amount you want, just don't hurt us, pleeease."

"Because of your billionaire's boyfriend right? I'm going to get more money than you can offer when I done with this business"

She left the room and I started struggling to untie the rope again when I spotted her phone, which was some meters away from me.

I tried to drag the chair but I was scared of making any sound that would put me in more trouble She came back not long after with two cups of coffee, finished one and forced me to take the other "You still have to be alive till her arrival"

"My friend will never hurt me"

"What if she wants what you have? What if she wants your billionaire's boyfriend?"

"She will never betray me"

"But she did! Get that straight into your dumb brain!"

She put her hand inside her trouser pocket and brought out a wrapped paper which she placed careful on a table, unwrapped it and bent down to sniff it in "I can get you multiple of this" I said quietly "You can't get me shit" she replied, went to where her phone was and put it back inside her pocket.

She took the chair to where the table was, sat on it and started sniffing it in again and again and again before wrapping up the paper and putting it back inside her pocket "What do you know about shit?" She asked and replied to it herself "Nothing"

JASON STOKES:

The polices were already searching for Lexi before my arrival and I've also called Judith and Cynthia to know if she was with them. I even called Ben, her roommate when she ran away but no one have seen or heard from her I went straight to the CCTV footage to confirm what the police said about it fifteen minutes malfunction last night before heading to our room.

"She slept here last night" I thought and went straight to her side of the bed to breathe in her scent because it was the only thing that could calm me down enough to think "Jason" I heard mom called but I didn't answer I continued breathing in her scent until someone pulled my shoulder, it was dad "Jason, we are all here for you" dad said "Sofia took her" I said as I tried not to cry "and she is going to hurt her if the police are one second late"

"I promise you nothing will happen to her," dad said

"But dad..."

"Ssssshhhh, get up and let's join them. Be strong."

I got up from the bed and mom came to hug me "Everything is going to be okay sweetie" she said I picked up her phone which was by the side of the bed and left with them One hour later…

"They have found her" dad said after receiving a call and I jumped out of my seat instantly "Lexi?" I asked hopefully "Sofia. She is now in their custody"

We left for the police station with the hope that Sofia was going to tell us about Lexi in two seconds "She's telling the truth" the commissioner said "Lexi isn't with her. I think we missed the plot"

"What!?" I growled
