Chapter 756

Chapter 756

I know you've been through a lot over the years. I also know that no matter what I say now, it won't make up for all the hardships you've faced. But the truth is out now, and I am Liberty's biological father. I hope you'll stay."

As Raymond finished speaking, Liberty was already overjoyed. She covered her mouth, her face full of surprise as she looked at Margaret. She even felt the urge to answer for her mother.

"Mom, say something! Dad is confessing his love to you."

Margaret was momentarily stunned. She never expected Raymond to confess his love to her in public.

She knew Raymond's personality well enough to foresee that he wouldn't give up easily. She had imagined scenarios where he might use force to take her and Liberty back from the airport, or shamelessly move to Rainbowland to live with them, because that was Raymond's usual style.

But she never thought he would act like a normal man, confessing his love publicly and lowering himself by kneeling in front of her.

"Maggie, you need to know that my confession today isn't because of any particular reason. It's not because the truth from back then has been uncovered, nor is it just because of Liberty. It's because I love you."

"When I first met you, I fell deeply in love. All these years without any news from you, I've been searching for you endlessly, but you seemed to have vanished. I had no information about you."

"Now that you've finally returned to my life, how could I possibly let you leave again?"

Though Raymond's words were simple, they deeply shook Margaret's heart.

She had guessed that Raymond wouldn't let her go, but she never imagined he would use such a gentle and sincere approach to try to keep her.

This was completely different from Raymond's usual behavior. This time, she could feel Raymond's respect for her.

Seeing that Margaret hadn't spoken, Liberty quickly chimed in.

"Mom, say something! Dad has been kneeling here for a long time."

Liberty took the roses from Raymond's hand and forcefully placed them in Margaret's hand. She looked at Margaret with hopeful eyes, wishing for an answer that would make everyone happy.

But to everyone's surprise, Margaret's face darkened, and she firmly pushed the roses back into Raymond's hand.

"I'm sorry, but I can't be with you. Even though the truth has come out, Raymond, many things have happened that can't be undone. We can't go back to the way things were before."

After saying this, Margaret turned and walked away without looking back.

Liberty immediately started crying but still turned to comfort Raymond.

"Dad, Mom hasn't figured everything out yet. It's not that she doesn't accept you. Please don't give up."

Raymond had anticipated this outcome before coming here. He wanted to try one last time before Margaret returned to Rainbowland. Since Margaret had unequivocally rejected him, he knew the answer.

"Liberty, take care of yourself and your mom. I'll visit whenever I can."

Liberty's tears streamed down her cheeks. She had so much to say to Raymond but couldn't find the words. She clung to Raymond's hand, unwilling to let go.

Margaret walked ahead, afraid to look back. She knew what Liberty and Raymond were doing. If she saw them, she feared she might soften.

Liberty watched Margaret's resolute figure, still holding onto Raymond's hand.

"Dad, I'll come back to visit you soon."

Raymond, worried that Liberty might not want to leave with Margaret, turned away decisively.

"I understand, Liberty. Hurry and catch up with your mom, or you'll miss your flight."

Liberty quickly ran to Margaret's side, only to find Margaret's face already wet with tears.

On the plane, Liberty looked at Margaret cautiously and asked softly.

"Mom, do you miss Dad too?"

Margaret wiped her tears with a tissue.

"Liberty, don't overthink it. I just feel that too much has happened here. I have too many emotions, and I don't want to stay here any longer."

Liberty gently wiped Margaret's tears.

"Mom, I respect all your choices. I just want you to be happy."

Margaret paused. Her happiness came at the cost of Liberty's unhappiness. Margaret didn't even know if what she was doing was right or wrong.

The plane slowly took off. The next day, Liberty and Margaret arrived in Rainbowland. Liberty slept deeply due to jet lag.

Margaret, on the other hand, started tidying up the house as soon as she got back. While she was cleaning, Patrick and Daryl arrived.

Margaret was surprised to see them.

"Patrick, Master, why are you back? Did you take the same flight as me?"

They were supposed to be in Crystaland, so why were they back in Rainbowland as soon as she arrived?

Patrick stepped forward with a relaxed expression.

"Yeah, we were on the same flight."

Daryl spoke directly, "Patrick knew you were coming back, so he checked your flight and dragged me along."

Daryl wanted to convey Patrick's concern for Margaret.

But Margaret, who had hoped to feel relaxed upon returning home, now felt even more troubled. Daryl's words made her feel worse.

She knew Daryl's intentions were to match her with Patrick.

So Margaret smiled slightly, her tone polite but distant.

"Master, is there any work-related matter you need to discuss?"

Patrick's expression turned awkward at Margaret's words.

Daryl was straightforward.

"We're not here for work. We're here because of your feelings. We saw you reject Raymond at the airport. Since you've ended that relationship, we hope you'll move on completely and not stay entangled with Raymond."

"After all, it's over between you two."

Before coming here, Patrick had tried to stop Daryl. Given that Margaret had just learned the truth and had just separated from Raymond, discussing her feelings now seemed inappropriate.
