The New Decision

Mitchel got into the bathroom and stood under the shower, as the warm water rushed down her body, she felt her muscles and mind relax. She thought about her Ivy's support and was really greatful she was always there for her.

She also thought about her job, and the stress involved. She never imagined it to be this stressful. She wished she could just go back to the position that was given to her when she initially got the job. Mitchel knew she can't keep going like this, but she wasn't sure what to do next.

As she got out of the shower, a thought ran into her mind. She thought about her quiting her job after taking her salary for the month then use the money to take care of herself and Jason untill she gets another job.

Mitchel face brightened up as she realized that she can now work as a secretary and was optimistic that she would get a job when she quits even if it means working in a school. She thought that it would be better that her current job in Nate's office.

The more she thought about getting a new job, the more she felt a sense of relief and excitement. Mitchel imagined herself working in another company or institution that operates in the night am to five pm system. She imagined herself being able to always be there for Jason and be the wonderful mom to him where she would have the chance to spend quality time with him and attend all his school events and take him out for sports.

As Mitchel dressed up to go to bed, she felt excited and relief that she could have her life back if she quits her job. She knew she still had alot to think about and plan, but she felt like she was finally taking charge of herself and was finally going to stop enslaving herself to someone in the name of working.

With the new found joy and excitement in Mitchel's heart, she jumped on her bed and slept off, feeling more hopeful than she have ever had in weeks.

The next morning, Mitchel woke up feeling revied and refreshed. She knew she had a big day ahead of her nd she was prepared for it.

Mitchel dressed up and was ready to leave for school but she has to take Jason to school cause Ivy did not return from club last night.

As Mitchel drove Jason to school, her mind ran back to when Jason was younger and how she spends time playing with him and taking him out. She beamed with smile as she shrugged off the thought.

They drove inside the schools compound and she packed Infront of the building so Jason could come down and proceed into his class.

“Love you mummy” Jason said as he peaked her on her cheek.

Mitchel's heart melted as she heard those words from Jason,

“I love you too and have a nice day in school”, Mitchel said as she let him go after giving him a tight hug.

Jason walked into his class and Mitchel drove out of the school's compound, she headed to a coffee shop to meet Ivy. That's where Ivy normally go to every morning to have coffee.

“Hey bestie!”, Ivy exclaimed on seeing Mitchel.

Mitchel walked up to her and gave her a hug and then she sat across her.

“You were talking about your job stress over the phone, what's really going on?”, ivy asked with so much concern.

Mitchel took a deep breath before telling ivy her decision,

“I want to resign from my job. The stress is too much and I think I'm loosing myself. These days I find myself lost in thought instead of working, and it's affecting my productivity and relationship with my son”, Mitchel explained.

“I'm so proud of you bestie, you are doing the right thing for yourself and Jason. Just remember that no matter what, I will support in any decision you make. Ivy said after listening to Mitchel's explanation attentively.

Mitchel beamed with smile as she stretched out her hands to squeeze Ivy's hands. She felt relieved that she has her friends support in this decision she wants to make.

“It's okay Mitchel, now which job are you planning on getting after quitting your job?”, Ivy asked.

Mitchel thought for a moment and after some minutes she gave Ivy an answer,

“Well, I need any job that will allow me spend quality time with my son and also have time to pursue my passion”. Mitchel said.

“That sounds nice. We will come up with something.”, Ivy assured Mitchel.

“Thanks Ivy for your support and encouragement. You have been one of the people that has been giving me hope”. Mitchel said feeling greatful to her Ivy.

Ivy smiled and gave Mitchel a hug. They both laughed as they sat back.

They diverted the discussion and talked about Ryan and his new job. Mitchel was happy as they discussed.
