Chapter 65 Daniel, I Hate You
When Tom was trembling with fear, a harsh sound of a chair scraping violently against the floor broke the deathly silence of the office.
Sharp and terrifying.
Tom wished he could bury his head in his chest. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Daniel, radiating an icy aura, already heading toward the door.
Tom hurried to follow, but at the doorway, he nearly got his nose squashed by the door that slammed shut hard.
For the sake of his own safety, Tom wisely decided not to follow after all.
Downstairs at the coffee shop.
The lawyer Scarlett had hired ran away scared after learning that the other party was actually Daniel.
Scarlett couldn't hold him back, so she could only wait there by herself.
She checked the time - she had booked the dance studio and would need to rush over to practice later.
But this time, she should be able to get Daniel's signature on the divorce agreement smoothly, right?
Just as Scarlett was thinking this, an intense gaze locked onto her like something physical.
When Scarlett looked up, Daniel had already swept in like a cold wind, striding right up to her.
"You! What are you doing?"
Daniel grabbed Scarlett's wrist, yanked her up from her seat, and headed outside.
Daniel's back radiated coldness, his steps quick and urgent.
Scarlett was much shorter than him and stumbled as she was dragged along, her thigh bumping into a nearby table corner.
She frowned in pain and struggled, "Daniel, let go!"
Daniel turned a deaf ear, pulling her out of the coffee shop, straight into the elevator and down to the underground parking garage.
It was working hours, so there wasn't a soul in the parking garage.
Scarlett was frightened by his domineering and cold presence, struggling even more fiercely.
"It hurts. Whatever you want to say, can't you just say it directly?"
Daniel finally stopped, but the next second he turned around and threw the divorce agreement at Scarlett.
Scarlett frantically caught the agreement, then was lifted up by Daniel.
He took a few quick steps, opened the car door, and shoved her inside.
Scarlett kicked and tried to jump out, completely uncooperative.
"What are you doing? I still have things to do, you..."
Before she could finish, Daniel fastened her seatbelt and slammed the car door hard.
Scarlett was furious, then her heart stirred.
Could it be that Daniel was eager to take her to court for the divorce?
She stopped struggling and quickly flipped to the last page of the divorce agreement.
But there, only her own signature remained. Daniel still hadn't signed.
Scarlett's anger immediately flared up even more. When Daniel got in the car, she questioned him angrily.
"What do you mean? You were the one who said that as long as I paid back the Wilson family thirty million dollars, you would agree to the divorce. I've agreed to it now, so why won't you sign?"
In this agreement, she had added that she was willing to leave with nothing and compensate Daniel thirty million dollars as compensation for two years of loveless marriage.
She really didn't understand what else Daniel was dissatisfied with!
Scarlett felt like she was going crazy because of him.
Daniel's cold eyes were full of mockery, "Scarlett, you've really got some nerve. Where are you planning to get this thirty million dollars?"
She was a twenty-two-year-old girl who hadn't had a proper job since graduation.
With the meager wages from her two remaining part-time jobs, could she come up with thirty million dollars?
He had made that demand certain she couldn't pay it, never expecting Scarlett to actually agree.
"You don't need to worry about where I'll get it. Since I wrote it into the agreement, I won't back out. Just sign it!"
Scarlett thought about last night when Daniel carried her out and threw her barefoot onto the street.
Thinking about Ray hurting Sarah, she didn't want to endure it for even one more day.
Besides, in two more days, Scarlett would be meeting Vivienne. She had to hurry up and settle the divorce so she could prepare to go abroad.
If this dragged on any longer, Scarlett wouldn't be able to hide her belly.
She leaned over, trying to shove the divorce agreement into Daniel's hands, and opened the glove compartment to find a pen.
However, Daniel grabbed her wrist and yanked hard.
Scarlett fell into Daniel's arms, the seatbelt tightening against her chest until she could barely breathe.
"Thirty million dollars is not a small amount. I don't care - are you going to sell your body? I don't want to be cheated on before we're even divorced!"
Scarlett's bloodless face looked up, her eyes red as she glared at him.
In his eyes, was she so worthless that she could only sell her body?
"Daniel, you bastard!" she roared, her voice trembling.
But Daniel pinched her chin, narrowing his dangerous cold eyes, his lips mocking.
"Are you planning to go to that hypocrite Ramon? Or that young Bruce from yesterday? Or maybe William? Or are you not planning to let any of the three go?"
"Shut up!"
Scarlett couldn't listen anymore. She raised her hand to hit him, but Daniel grabbed her wrist.
Unable to slap him, she struggled to scratch him.
Tears fell from her eyes. Was it because of what happened that night four years ago that he had decided she was the kind of woman who didn't respect herself, who would drug men and sleep with them casually?
Scarlett viciously scratched Daniel's neck twice, leaving obvious red marks that soon oozed thin threads of blood, stinging.
Daniel frowned and released the passenger seat belt buckle.
He gripped Scarlett's waist and lifted her right over.
Scarlett was forced to spread her legs and straddle Daniel's lap, her hands pinned behind her, her back pressed against the steering wheel.
In the cramped driver's seat, both of them were breathing heavily from the struggle.
"Scarlett, you've got guts now, daring to attack me, huh?"
Daniel's eyes flickered with menace. Scarlett's chest rose and fell rapidly, brushing against Daniel's hard chest.
She felt humiliated and angry, turning her head away to avoid looking at him.
Yes, she never thought she would one day attack Daniel either.
He didn't know that he was her faith, her whole world.
She would rather be covered in wounds herself than let him be touched by the wind, but he was the one forcing her to this.
Her small face was stubborn, her eyes red. "Daniel, I hate you...!"
Before Scarlett could finish, Daniel forcefully turned her face back, blocking her red lips and cutting off the rest of her words.
He kissed her fiercely and roughly, as if punishing her for speaking without thinking, with no tenderness or affection, just raw possession.
Scarlett's lips and tongue immediately became painful and numb, stirred up completely by him.
She bit down hard, and Daniel pulled back.
Just as Scarlett caught her breath, he pressed the back of her head and invaded again. After several rounds, Scarlett was exhausted and gasping but still couldn't bite him.
Instead, she was kissed until her eyes were hazy, the corners reddened, her lips swollen, even her hair disheveled, looking as if she had been thoroughly ravaged by Daniel in the car.
While Daniel leaned back against the seat, though his shirt was also messy, his brows were coldly lowered, his eyes sharp and cold, appearing much more composed and stern.
Scarlett felt wronged and humiliated, trembling slightly with anger.
Just then, someone knocked twice on the car window from outside.
Scarlett's whole body stiffened. She didn't dare move, instinctively brushing her messy hair over her face.
She wasn't as shameless as he was.
"Daniel, is that you in there?"
The person outside, getting no response, tried the car door and asked.
