Chapter 150 Not Content Until the Child Is Gone
Doctor's office.
Scarlett handed the angiography films to Dr. Milan. After examining them, Milan told her there was nothing wrong with the scans.
Only after asking detailed questions about Daniel's injuries did Scarlett feel relieved enough to leave the office.
She didn't expect to find Alice sitting in the waiting chairs outside the door, holding her belly.
Seeing her come out, Alice immediately stood up and asked with concern.
"Scarlett, I just found out Daniel got hurt. How is he? Can I go see Daniel?"
As Alice spoke, she bent down and picked up a bouquet of flowers from the chair.
Scarlett's gaze fell on the bouquet—a large bunch of balloon flowers and wisteria.
Scarlett had worked part-time at a flower shop before and happened to know what these two flowers meant.
Balloon flowers represent hopeless love, and wisteria represents living for passion, dying for love, being obsessed with love yet never getting beautiful love in return.
These were two cold flowers with bad meanings, not suitable as gifts at all.
Alice must have really gone out of her way to pick these two particular flowers to give to Daniel.
"No."
Scarlett coldly refused and walked away.
Alice hurriedly followed with the bouquet. "Scarlett, I mean well. I don't have to go into the room—just help me take the flowers in to show my good wishes.
Oh, and that question—did you ask Daniel about it? Isn't Daniel happy about our babies playing together and growing up together?
Actually, I think it would be nice if my baby had Daniel as a godfather."
Scarlett felt like ten thousand flies were buzzing around her ears, circling and making noise non-stop.
Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She suddenly stopped, turned around, snatched the bouquet from Alice's hands, and threw it on the ground.
She lifted her foot and stomped the flowers into a mess several times, staring at Alice.
"The flowers are gone, so you can get lost too! My husband and I have discussed it—we're going to have lots of children. Our babies will have real brothers and sisters! If your kid wants siblings, go find his biological father to make them. Stop disgusting us!"
Alice lowered her head, staring at the trampled flowers on the ground, tears falling continuously.
"Scarlett, what did these beautiful, bright flowers do wrong? You've gone too far."
She crouched down to pick up the flowers, as if her own heart had been crushed.
"Scarlett! So arrogant and domineering—look at yourself!"
At that moment, a familiar sharp voice rang out from behind Scarlett.
Scarlett turned around to see Blair walking quickly toward them, carrying a bag and looking elegant and dignified, with reproach and disgust in her eyes.
Seeing the condemnation and hatred in Blair's eyes, Scarlett smiled and crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow.
"So that's what melodrama she's putting on here—she invited an audience."
Blair frowned and stepped forward to help Alice up with concern.
"Mrs. Wilson, I'm fine. I just didn't hold them steady."
"I saw everything. Besides, the flowers are trampled like this—does that look like you didn't hold them steady?"
Blair protected Alice and looked at Scarlett with a stern face.
"What was that sarcastic comment just now? Apologize to Alice right now!"
Scarlett smirked. "I was just diagnosed with 'can't apologize' disease. I can't give that apology."
Blair was already full of displeasure at the sight of Scarlett, and now her words made her even angrier. She raised her hand to slap Scarlett, shouting angrily.
"Then I'll cure you of this strange disease today!"
Scarlett was prepared and reached out to grab Blair's wrist.
Blair tried to pull away twice but couldn't, getting even angrier. "Scarlett, how dare you fight back?"
"Scarlett, Mrs. Wilson is your elder. If you're angry, take it out on me. Let go of Mrs. Wilson!"
Alice anxiously tried to mediate, reaching out to pry Scarlett's hand away, but her nails deliberately scratched several marks on Scarlett's wrist.
Scarlett let go in pain, and Alice staggered several steps backward toward the wall.
"Alice!"
Blair was shocked and cried out, rushing to catch Alice.
She caught Alice just before she fell.
At that moment, a hospital room door in the distance opened.
His tall figure stood in the doorway, his expression cool as he looked over—clearly Daniel had heard the commotion outside.
"Daniel, look what Scarlett did! This woman has no manners at all. She even dared to lay hands on me. Look at my wrist—see how she twisted it!"
Blair held out her hand. She lived a pampered life, and her wrist skin was delicate, no worse than a young person's. Scarlett had left red marks from gripping it.
Daniel's gaze fell on it, and he frowned slightly.
Seeing this, Blair became even more indignant. She supported the distressed Alice and pushed her slightly toward Daniel.
"And Alice almost got pushed down by Scarlett just now. If I hadn't reacted quickly, Alice would definitely have fallen and miscarried! She's already in the hospital for bed rest, and Scarlett did this on purpose.
She won't be satisfied until she gets rid of Alice's baby! She was about to divorce you and go abroad—why did you chase her back!"
Alice was pushed toward Daniel and took two steps in his direction, but she didn't take the opportunity to throw herself at him. Instead, she quickly stepped back and said.
"Mr. Wilson, don't misunderstand. I just happened to hear Mr. Wilson was hospitalized, so I bought flowers to visit. I didn't expect to make Scarlett angry or run into Mrs. Wilson. I shouldn't have come. I'll leave now."
Alice finished speaking with an air of wronged compromise and turned to leave. Seeing this, Blair was even more displeased.
"Alice, you're carrying Daniel's child—why shouldn't you be able to visit Daniel? You can't leave. You're not the one who should go!"
Scarlett could clearly hear that Blair was talking about her.
Scarlett had long wanted to leave. Blair was silver-tongued, and Alice played the victim perfectly.
Daniel had personally witnessed Scarlett shaking off Alice, the red marks on Blair's wrist, and the mess of flowers on the ground.
Everything in front of Daniel was evidence of Scarlett's arrogance and disrespect for her elders, wasn't it?
Daniel already thought Scarlett was unreasonable and couldn't tolerate the innocent child in Alice's belly.
Seeing all this, how could he not overthink it?
Scarlett felt disheartened. A self-mocking smile appeared on her lips. She didn't want to say anything and walked away.
But just as she turned around, he, who had shown no reaction until now, took a long stride forward and reached out to grab her wrist.
He grabbed Scarlett's right hand, the one Alice had just scratched. Scarlett couldn't help but let out a soft groan.
Daniel's expression changed slightly, and he immediately lifted her hand to examine it.
Scarlett's skin was very thin and delicate. Usually, when Daniel touched her, he was very careful about his strength.
Those scratch marks on her skin looked shockingly bloody.
Coldness rose in his eyes. "Who did this?"
Alice shivered for no reason and shrank behind Blair.
Scarlett's gaze swept over and saw Alice's guilty look. Suddenly, Scarlett didn't want to leave anymore.
Scarlett looked up at Daniel with a half-smile, a slight curve at the corner of her lips. She pointed her chin at Alice and said mockingly, "Her."
