Chapter 141 Give Her an Examination
Daniel carried Scarlett back home. When they entered the villa, Scarlett was still sound asleep and didn't wake up at all.
In the living room, the female doctor Hestia Sharp was already waiting.
Seeing Daniel carrying Scarlett in, Hestia immediately stood up.
Daniel nodded slightly at Hestia and headed upstairs. Hestia followed him up on her own.
Daniel placed Scarlett on the bed, then stepped back and gave Hestia a quiet instruction.
"Be gentle, don't wake her up."
Hestia was an obstetrician specialist. Being called over in the middle of the night, she thought something serious had happened.
She had already prepared for emergencies like miscarriage and severe bleeding in pregnant women who had difficulty accessing medical care.
But the actual situation was completely different from what Hestia had expected. With a complicated expression, she nodded and went forward to examine the sleeping Scarlett.
Throughout the whole process, Daniel stood nearby watching, his gaze quite intense.
After Hestia finished the examination and came out of the bedroom, Daniel asked.
"How is she?"
"Mr. Daniel Wilson, please don't worry. Mrs. Scarlett Wilson and the baby are both fine. However, Mrs. Scarlett Wilson seems to be too tired lately. Her body is too weak, and she still needs to provide nutrition for the baby. I need to remind you that the pregnant woman should rest more and pay attention to getting proper nutrition."
Daniel thought about Scarlett's still-slender waist he'd felt in the car earlier.
If he hadn't already confirmed she was pregnant, he would have found it hard to believe that such a slender and delicate body was already quietly nurturing their baby.
He asked nervously, "Is the baby not developing well?"
"No, no, not at all. The baby is very healthy, with a strong heartbeat. Mr. Wilson can rest assured."
Only then did Daniel let out a breath, though he kept his composure. Watching his nervous and worried expression, Hestia felt like she was being shown affection late at night.
"Earlier I couldn't quite control myself... having sex..."
Even though Daniel tried to stay calm, talking about this topic made his handsome face show a bit of discomfort.
But Hestia, being experienced, was used to this and understood. She smiled and said.
"Mr. Wilson, please don't worry about that either. Your wife has entered the second trimester, which is a relatively stable stage. Having sex is fine. However, you should still be moderate. During sex, don't be too rough, movements must be gentle and slow, and it shouldn't last too long. Also, pay attention to hygiene."
Daniel's ears felt a bit hot, and he was somewhat embarrassed.
But his expression was very serious, and he listened carefully.
Seeing his expression, Hestia knew he cared deeply about Scarlett. With this attitude, there wouldn't be any problems.
Hestia didn't need to remind him repeatedly. She nodded and said, "Love is the best care. Mr. Wilson loves Mrs. Scarlett Wilson so much, I don't need to say more. Congratulations on becoming a father, Mr. Wilson."
Daniel nodded gently, "Thank you."
He then told Jane to see the doctor out.
He went to the next room to shower, and when he returned to the bedroom, remembering the doctor's reminder about hygiene.
He gently cleaned Scarlett's pussy as well, then held Scarlett as he fell asleep.
Scarlett slept particularly deeply this time. She had been constantly thinking about leaving lately.
Now she felt strangely unburdened.
She was woken up by hunger, her stomach growling non-stop.
Scarlett held her stomach and opened her eyes, only to see a familiar handsome face.
Bright golden light streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Daniel's handsome face was bathed in sunlight, lying right beside her, holding her in a possessive, intimate, and tender embrace.
And he was awake.
It was as if he had been lying beside her like this, staring at her for a long time.
Just waiting for her to open her eyes and see him.
Scarlett was stunned. In two years of marriage, this was the first time she'd woken up to see him first thing.
"Why are you looking at me like that? After one night's sleep, you don't recognize me anymore?"
Scarlett's eyes looked too dazed and strange, as if she found it hard to believe.
Daniel raised his eyebrows slightly and spoke with some amusement.
It was his familiar voice.
But Scarlett still felt like she was dreaming. Maybe she really hadn't woken up yet.
"Or did I open my eyes the wrong way?"
She blinked twice, muttered to herself, then squeezed her eyes shut hard and opened them hard again.
But he was still there in front of her.
This kind of thing only happened in her dreams though.
Scarlett raised her hand, wanting to touch Daniel's handsome face, but worried that touching would break the beautiful dream and he would shatter like an illusion.
Her hand paused there, until Daniel raised his hand, held hers, and placed it on his cheek.
The real, warm sensation made Scarlett suddenly wake up completely.
It really was him.
She remembered now—yesterday he had caught her at the airport and brought her back.
"What are you muttering about? Did you sleep yourself silly? Or are you silly from hunger?"
Daniel held Scarlett's hand, then raised his other hand to ruffle her hair, his voice clear and amused.
Scarlett blushed a little. Her eyelashes trembled.
"Did you sleep here last night?"
"What else?"
Daniel asked back, his tone actually quite matter-of-fact.
Scarlett couldn't figure him out. "What do you mean 'what else'? You never used to hold me while sleeping, and now that we're divorced you actually...!"
Before Scarlett could finish, Daniel leaned over and kissed her.
Scarlett's eyes widened. He... he...
Didn't he have a cleanliness obsession?
She hadn't even brushed her teeth after waking up. No wait, she hadn't brushed her teeth since last night.
Even she found her own mouth distasteful. She pushed him away in embarrassment.
He seemed to just be giving her a simple good morning kiss anyway. He didn't linger and let her go.
But he pinched Scarlett's cheek and said.
"Before, as a husband, I was truly too negligent. So from now on, I need to make up for my negligence. We only registered for divorce, we're not divorced yet. During this time, you need to prepare yourself and get used to waking up in my arms every day."
Scarlett felt like she could understand every sentence he said, but when put together, she couldn't understand at all.
But she was also touched by the beautiful picture Daniel's words painted.
Because that was also the most beautiful married life she'd imagined. Just thinking about it gave her a sense of happiness that filled her entire heart.
She stared at Daniel in a daze. Daniel had already gotten out of bed and reached out his hand to her.
"Jane finished making breakfast a long time ago. You can't go hungry now. Since you're awake, hurry up and wash up, then go downstairs to eat."
Scarlett's head felt fuzzy, as if she really was still half-asleep.
She didn't catch the deeper meaning in Daniel's words. She instinctively put her hand in Daniel's palm and let him pull her out of bed and lead her into the bathroom.
She stood at the sink. Daniel took a toothbrush, squeezed toothpaste on it himself, and handed it to her.
Scarlett took it slowly, feeling like she'd gone back to childhood.
There was a period when she was growing and could never wake up. Sometimes even when the alarm went off, she'd stay in bed and almost be late.
Daniel would dig her out of the covers and would help her squeeze toothpaste just like now, impatiently ruffling her hair and teasing her with a smile.
"If you're late and the teacher makes you stand as punishment, don't come crying to me."
"What are you spacing out for? Do I need to brush your teeth for you too?"
Seeing Scarlett just standing there holding the toothbrush without moving, Daniel reached out as if he really was going to brush her teeth for her.
Only then did Scarlett snap out of it. She quickly turned her head and hastily shoved the toothbrush into her mouth.
