Chapter 136 Daniel Chases Scarlett at the Airport
"Jenny, what's going on? Are you pregnant?"
Orval snapped back to reality, frowning as he glared at Jenny.
If she was pregnant but hid it when joining the production, wouldn't that mess up the filming schedule?
It wasn't easy for Jenny to land the second female lead role. What if she lost it because of this?
She immediately shook her head anxiously at Orval, "I, I, I..."
Sarah tugged at Jenny and came to her rescue: "Mr. Montes, I know about this. Jenny had a miscarriage!"
Jenny quickly chimed in: "Right, right, I had a miscarriage for my career!"
Daniel let out a cold laugh, "A miscarriage? When? Which hospital?"
His eyes were sharp as knives. Jenny was on the verge of tears under his stare, but forced herself to say:
"I don't even know you. This is all my private business. Why should I tell you! I..."
The producer Rolf, standing beside her, recognized Daniel at that moment. Rolf stepped forward and pulled at Jenny.
"Jenny! How can you talk to Mr. Wilson like that! Whatever Mr. Wilson asks you, answer him honestly! Hurry up!"
If the cast members offended and angered Daniel, their production might as well forget about starting. They could just disband on the spot.
Rolf quickly grabbed a wine glass and bowed apologetically to Daniel.
Orval soon caught on too and stood up in a panic.
In an instant, everyone in the private room stood up, with flattering apologies coming one after another.
Daniel's face was dark as water. He ignored them all, his gaze still fixed on Jenny.
Everyone turned to look at Jenny. She felt the pressure multiply.
Jenny had seen Daniel before when she covered for Scarlett at the prenatal checkup, and thought he looked familiar then.
But Jenny never imagined she'd offended someone of such high status.
She was on the verge of tears, her face turning pale, looking to Sarah for help.
At this point, Sarah couldn't let Jenny bear all the pressure.
Sarah stepped forward, blocking Jenny, and said to Daniel:
"Mr. Wilson, let's talk outside. Whatever you want to know, just ask me. It has nothing to do with Jenny!"
Daniel knew Sarah's temperament. Pressuring Jenny was meant to pressure Sarah.
His cold gaze finally fell on Sarah.
"I hope Ms. Johnson won't disappoint me. Otherwise, anyone in Shadow City who dares to fool me, Daniel, will have to pay the price!"
Hearing this, Jenny was so scared that tears came out. She nervously tugged at Sarah's sleeve.
Sarah's face also turned pale. She barely managed to give Jenny a reassuring look, nodded, and followed Daniel out.
After they left, the private room remained silent.
Alton lagged behind a step, waving his hand at the still-shaken Orval and others, saying:
"It's nothing, just some private business for Mr. Wilson. Please continue, everyone."
After Alton finished speaking, he also followed them out.
Sarah followed Daniel to another private room. Daniel's expression seemed normal, but the aura around him told a different story.
He couldn't wait any longer and got straight to the point.
"The one who went for the prenatal checkup last time was Scarlett. She's pregnant?"
It was a question, but his tone was certain.
Sarah's face turned pale. "You've already guessed it, so why ask me? But hiding it from you had nothing to do with Jenny. Jenny didn't even know Scarlett was Mr. Wilson's wife. Jenny was just helping us out. Mr. Wilson, please don't make things difficult for Jenny. If you're unhappy about anything, come at me!"
Although Daniel had already guessed and was certain in his heart, hearing Sarah confirm it still shook him deeply, with countless emotions surging in his eyes.
Scarlett was actually pregnant!
She was carrying their baby!
He, Daniel, was going to be a father!
As these thoughts flashed through his mind one by one, along with Daniel's wild joy, he quickly thought of Scarlett going abroad.
She was taking the child abroad with her!
She was pregnant but refused to tell him, went to great lengths to hide it from him, and even wanted to leave with their child!
Anger and overwhelming pain brewed like bitter wine in his heart, surrounding Daniel with a gloomy and cold murderous aura.
Even Sarah, who was usually bold, broke out in a cold sweat, her face turning pale.
"Daniel, it must have been Scarlett's idea. Sarah was just following Scarlett's lead. You can't blame Sarah entirely for this."
Alton was a bit worried that Sarah might get killed by Daniel on the spot.
Alton stepped forward to shield Sarah and tried to reason with Daniel.
But Sarah didn't appreciate it. Worried that Daniel would take all his anger out on Scarlett, she pushed Alton aside and said:
"When a wife is pregnant but doesn't dare tell her husband, why is that? Shouldn't Mr. Wilson reflect on himself? Who says it was all Scarlett's idea? I also...!"
Before Sarah could finish, Alton covered her mouth.
But Daniel had no time to deal with Sarah now. He strode out of the private room with large steps, his retreating figure wrapped in murderous intent.
Sarah anxiously pushed Alton away. "Let go of me! Who told you to put all the blame on Scarlett!"
"Do you even know! I'm helping you. Otherwise, you'd be dead or crippled! This is between husband and wife. Scarlett is carrying Daniel's child. What can he do to Scarlett? You better protect yourself first, you foolish woman!"
But Sarah was still worried. She quickly took out her phone to call Scarlett.
Alton raised his hand and snatched her phone away.
"What are you doing? Give it back!"
"No! Let me tell you, tipping her off will only make things worse!"
Sarah was furious and started chasing Alton around the private room.
At the airport, in the waiting area.
Scarlett bent over, supporting herself against the wall, and dry heaved twice more into the trash can.
"Have some water to help."
A man's gentle, concerned voice came from behind her. It was Ramon.
He gently patted Scarlett's back and handed her an opened bottle of water.
Scarlett looked up, her face pale, and took the water for a sip.
"Thank you, Ramon."
"Why is your morning sickness suddenly so severe? Was it like this before?"
Ramon saw fine sweat on Scarlett's forehead and frowned slightly with concern.
Scarlett shook her head at him, forcing a smile, and said:
"I'm fine, much better now. I should be boarding soon, Ramon. Don't stay with me anymore, hurry over there."
Ramon helped her sit down in a chair. After Scarlett urged him twice more, he finally walked toward another waiting area.
Scarlett sat there, raising her hand to her lower abdomen, her expression somewhat helpless and sad.
"Bunny, do you know I'm leaving your daddy? Are you sad for me?"
Scarlett had given her unborn child this nickname in the taxi on her way back from The Wilson Mansion that day.
She thought that from now on, only Bunny would accompany her and depend on her.
Bunny would bring her happiness and motivation to live.
Bunny was such a good, good baby, not troubling her at all. Scarlett only had a few days of morning sickness at the beginning.
Later, Bunny was so well-behaved, as if already understanding and caring for Scarlett.
During this time, Scarlett had been practicing dance and busy making money, working very hard. If Bunny hadn't been so obedient and not troubling her at all, she wouldn't have been able to accomplish so much.
But for some reason, on the way to the airport just now, Scarlett suddenly started feeling nauseous and uncomfortable.
As if Bunny also knew she was going abroad.
"Bunny, is it you? Don't you want me to leave?"
Thinking of this possibility, endless pain, sadness, and bitterness surged in Scarlett's heart.
She was staring blankly when suddenly there was a commotion at the airport.
People around her were exclaiming:
"Oh my god, is this some celebrity traveling? Or some important person? They actually have so many bodyguards!"
"The man in front is so handsome! He really has presence!"
Scarlett instinctively looked up, following everyone's gaze, and was immediately shocked.
