Chapter 176 Being Foolish This Time Is Enough
Scarlett came downstairs, where the servants had prepared breakfast.
She took a sip of milk and asked the servant, "Grandma's not home?"
"Two years ago, Mrs. Magnolia Wilson prayed at the church for Mr. Daniel Wilson and Mrs. Scarlett Wilson to have a happy marriage and a baby soon. Now that you two have reconciled and Mrs. Scarlett Wilson is expecting a baby, Mrs. Magnolia Wilson took Tyne early this morning to fulfill her vow. The flowers near the church are about to bloom, so Mrs. Magnolia Wilson will be staying on the mountain for a few days."
Scarlett's hand tightened around her cup, and her heart clenched.
God, why did you let Daniel meet Waverly from birth, only to play such a cruel joke on her?
Magnolia's joy would probably be short-lived.
Scarlett had just finished breakfast and was about to leave when Blair came in with Orla.
"Scarlett, I made you some soup. Drink it while it's still hot."
Blair gestured, and Orla immediately opened the thermos she brought, ladled out a bowl of soup, and brought it to Scarlett.
Scarlett looked up. "I'm already full."
Blair said unhappily, "It's just a bowl of soup, you can manage it. Now that you're pregnant, you can't eat so little like before just to keep your figure! Drink it."
Blair shoved the bowl directly into Scarlett's hands, urging her.
The soup had plenty of meat, eggs, vegetables, and beans, but it didn't look or smell very appetizing.
Scarlett knew Blair was doing this for the baby in her belly.
The soup wasn't poisonous, but Scarlett was already full, and she had dance rehearsal later, eating too much would be inconvenient.
She put the bowl down. "Sorry, I really can't eat anymore. I need to leave..."
She stood up to go, but how could Blair let it go?
"Stop her! If she doesn't finish this soup today, she's not leaving!"
Orla immediately blocked Scarlett. "Mrs. Scarlett Wilson, you're being unreasonable. Mrs. Blair Wilson made this soup with good intentions, getting up early to bring it to you. How can you be so ungrateful?"
When Daniel wasn't in the country before, Blair was obsessed with making Scarlett drink all kinds of fertility-boosting medicines and soups. She was very difficult to deal with.
Scarlett was in a hurry. If she got tangled up with them, who knew when she'd be able to leave.
She pressed her lips together and picked up the bowl of soup to drink.
Blair's expression softened slightly. "I carefully selected the ingredients. Eat everything in it too."
Scarlett stirred it with a spoon and scooped up something strange-looking.
"What's this?"
It was wrinkled and looked a bit like mushrooms, but was clearly meat.
"It's placenta. Mrs. Blair Wilson went to great trouble to get it. I heard this stuff works better when it's fresh."
Fresh placenta?
Scarlett's stomach immediately churned. Before Orla could finish speaking, Scarlett rushed to the trash can and threw up violently.
"Why are you throwing it all up?" Orla said anxiously.
Blair's face darkened, and she signaled Orla to ladle out another bowl.
Scarlett threw up everything, including her breakfast, but the nausea still lingered.
She stood up holding onto the table, and another bowl of soup was brought to her face.
"Take it away!" Scarlett pushed it away forcefully.
The bowl fell to the ground and shattered.
Blair said angrily, "Scarlett, I'm kindly helping you nourish your body, don't be ungrateful! I'll bring you this soup every day, and you must drink it all."
Scarlett grabbed a tissue to wipe her mouth and swept her arm forcefully.
A loud crash.
The thermos was also knocked to the floor by her, soup and water spilling everywhere.
Soup splashed on her, and Blair jumped up and down. "Scarlett!"
"Are you nourishing my body? You just want to nourish the placenta in my belly! Whoever wants to drink this soup can drink it. Next time anyone dares to bring it to me, I'll dump it on their face!"
Scarlett pushed past Orla, who was blocking her way.
Orla grabbed Scarlett. Scarlett's cold eyes swept over her, and she said mockingly, "Be careful not to hurt the child in my belly—the one that can save Elliot's life."
Orla shrank back in fear, and Scarlett grabbed her bag and strode away.
Behind her, Blair's angry curses rang out.
"Just because you're pregnant, you think you're nobility? Look at where you came from. If you weren't pregnant, Daniel would have divorced you long ago!"
Scarlett left the house. Sarah was already waiting.
"Scarlett, why do you look so pale?" Sarah frowned when she saw Scarlett.
Scarlett felt her mouth was still full of that strange taste. She shook her head and asked, "Do you have water?"
Sarah opened the car door, got Scarlett a bottle of water, opened it, and handed it to her.
Scarlett walked to the roadside to rinse her mouth, and Sarah patted her back.
The sunlight made Scarlett's bloodless face look almost transparent, and the exhaustion in her eyes was hard to hide.
Sarah remembered the last time she saw Scarlett, her eyes were still bright and full of hope for Daniel.
It had only been a few days, and Daniel had already worn Scarlett down to this state.
Sarah cursed angrily, "Daniel likes so many women—with his talent, he shouldn't be a CEO. He should just become a male prostitute, changing women every day and making money from it. That would suit him better.
A bad man like him, the worst of the worst—the only way to punish him is to have no place for him in your heart. Scarlett, you're right to give up!"
Scarlett rinsed her mouth and felt much better. She nodded to Sarah. "Being foolish once is enough. Let's go."
In the villa.
Blair was quite upset and was calling Daniel in the living room.
When the call connected, Blair couldn't wait to speak.
"Daniel, what a wonderful wife you married! She's really something. I got up early this morning to make her nourishing soup with my own hands and thoughtfully brought it to The Wilson Mansion.
But what does Scarlett do? She smashes the soup and bowl, throws a tantrum, acts all high and mighty, and runs off!"
Daniel had just arrived at the hospital.
Because of Tobias's situation, Ella's health had deteriorated again, and she hadn't been doing well the past couple of days.
Hearing Blair's complaint, Daniel's handsome face darkened. Somewhat irritated, he said in a low voice.
"Then stop making soup. There are so many servants at The Wilson Mansion, they can take care of her."
Blair thought he would at least scold Scarlett a bit, but she didn't expect such a dismissive response. She was furious.
"Daniel, what do you mean by that? I care about your pregnant wife, and I'm wrong to care? No wonder Scarlett dares to embarrass me like this and lose her temper at me—she knows you've got her back, right!"
Daniel frowned. "Mother, I know exactly what kind of person Scarlett is. If you don't start trouble, she won't lose her temper for no reason. Her emotions during pregnancy are very important. Don't go to The Wilson Mansion so often when you have nothing to do."
Blair could hardly believe it. Her chest heaved as she was about to explode, but the phone went silent.
Daniel hung up on Blair and scrolled with his finger, directly calling Scarlett's number.
At that moment, Scarlett was talking to Sarah about the dance rehearsal.
Sarah was a bit worried that Scarlett's body couldn't handle it while pregnant.
"Don't worry, I'm not the only professional dancer who keeps dancing during pregnancy. I know my limits. If my body really can't handle it, Bunny is definitely the most important thing. I'll keep it under control."
The phone rang. Scarlett was talking to Sarah and answered without even looking.
"You had a conflict with Mom?" Daniel's cool voice suddenly sounded in her ear.
The smile on Scarlett's face faded slightly. Her red lips curved in a mocking smile. "Are you calling to blame me?"
