Chapter 52 52
Nathan blew out the hot air with puffed cheeks. "Fine. If she insists on doing it herself, tell her to do it. But one more thing. I don't want her in my office. She has to report from the door." Nathan instructed.
"Yes, sir." The assistant said before leaving. He is relieved at least his boss has approved of listening to the lady, even if it was at the door.
Soon, Miss Dale appeared at the entrance of Nathan's office. His attention was on what he was doing but that didn't stop Miss Dale from admiring him and smiling at him.
Since she joined the company for over a month now, this is her first time coming in contact with the CEO himself. She began to walk in.
That was when Nathan spared her a look and immediately halted her. "Don't take another step further. Stay there and report whatever you have from there."
Miss Dale didn't like the idea. She was worked by the boss's assistant but she decided to go against that. Thinking the assistant was just making it up. But now she understood it was the boss all the way.
She greeted Nathan and began her report. Stating how she understood everything was going well before she came. And now they have gotten better since she took over.
It took Miss Dale twelve minutes to finish the report. When she was done, she felt like she had lost her voice because she had to raise her voice for the whole twelve minutes. She offered to bring the documents to Nathan but he was quick to speak.
"Give it to my assistant. I will look into it later -"
Before he could complete the sentence, Miss Dale had already begun to walk towards him. "I am already here. I could just hand this to you." She said as she sped towards him.
Nathan didn't have time to call in his assistant. "Don't. Stop there, Miss Dale. Don't take another step." He warned.
But it all fell into deaf ears as she had already reached Nathan's desk. She pulled her coat a bit low, showing off her cleavages. As if that wasn't enough. She began to walk to the other side of the table, where Nathan was seated.
"Sir, I am here- Jeez! Woman. Do you have a death wish?" Nathan's assistant walked in and saw the scene in front of him. He knew the lady was done for. He warned her but she felt she had something to offer to his boss for some reason.
Nathan glared at him. "This is exactly why I gave you my instructions. Miss Dale has broken my number one rule. Fire her right away." He said in an angry tone.
"Yes sir. I am sorry, sir." The assistant apologized. He knows he has something to do with what had happened because he was the one that insisted for Nathan to see the lady. Instead of trying to stop her.
The number one rule Nathan has was no woman outside his family was allowed to come at least eight feet close to him. No matter the circumstances.
This was because over the years, a lot kept happening. Some women, especially at work, tried to throw themselves at him. As time went on, he got irritated by that and many lost their jobs because of that.
That was the reason he made the rule and made sure all his employees understood and signed it. From that moment on, he was at peace as they abided by the rule. But now, a new employee dared to break his rule.
"Sir, you look like you did not get any sleep at all." Jerry, Nathan's assistant said. "You should have taken your sleeping medication to help you get some sleep."
The two are in a car, driven out of a new location site that Nathan had launched in another city.
Their business is expanding too. They began to open more branches in other states across the country. That day was their opening ceremony for one of them. Nathan had to be there and act to shove some earth. They are now done with that and are about to leave the city.
"I did, Jerry. I slept for almost three hours. I like to be present in all my dealings and activities." Nathan responded.
His assistant knows that. Nathan prefers to do things by himself. Especially now.
"Have you done what I asked about Miss Dale's situation?" Nathan changed the topic.
"I did, sir. I had a talk with the human resource department. They have given her termination letter." Jerry stated.
"I don't like being in this kind of situation, Jerry. You have to work on preventing women from putting themselves in this kind of position. I am not trying to block any woman from achieving her goals but I can't take it when they break my rule." Nathan explained.
"I am sorry about what happened sir. I understand and I will take measures to prevent that from happening again." Jerry assured his boss.
"Hire more securities if there is a need. But I don't like such occurrences again."
"Yes sir." Jerry confirmed.
Nathan was quiet for a while, looking out the window. "How is your father doing?" He asked his assistant.
"He is feeling a lot better. He is grateful for the supplements you gave to him." Jerry answered. This is one of the traits of his boss that he appreciates a lot. Even though he is going through a lot, he still shows concern about others.
"Good." Nathan said. He turned his attention back to the car window.
They almost arrived at the airport when Nathan spotted a girl with blonde hair. Her body figure looked familiar. Nathan's heart raced at the possibility of who it might be.
"Pull over. Stop the car. Stop the car." Nathan called out.
Jerry asked Nathan if something was wrong. But Nathan didn't have time to answer or explain himself. Immediately the car came to a stop. He sprinted out of the car and went after the lady that was walking by the side of the road.
"Bee.... Bee." Nathan called as he ran after her. "Brooke."
