Chapter 9 Daydreaming Only About You
Seeing Benjamin's figure, Sophia lit up instantly, "Hey, babe!"
Her voice was filled with pure joy and surprise.
Benjamin's gaze fell on the small hand clasping his own, his eyes hesitating for a moment.
The servants around them instinctively held their breath.
The air in the dining room grew tense as everyone stared at their intertwined hands.
Everyone in Silverlight City knew that Benjamin was notorious for his aversion to women, his dark and violent nature, and his severe germophobia.
Any woman who had ever touched him never met a good end.
This woman had guts!
She dared to hold Benjamin's hand!
Wasn't she afraid of being thrown out by Benjamin?
For a moment, many of the servants smirked, enjoying the spectacle.
How could Benjamin marry such an uncouth woman?
This woman even called Benjamin "babe," shameless!
They waited to see how she ended up!
But in the next second, the servants who were watching the drama were stunned.
They were shocked, their mouths agape, unable to believe their eyes.
What did they see?
The always distant Benjamin not only didn't push her away in anger but instead firmly held Sophia's hand and sat beside her!
How could this be?
Benjamin had severe germophobia and hated physical contact with others.
How could he treat a woman from the countryside differently?
They must be seeing things.
However, Benjamin's next move shocked them even more.
They watched, eyes wide, as Benjamin not only didn't show any disgust at Sophia's touch but gently picked up a napkin to wipe the oil from the corner of her mouth.
His actions were intimate, with a hint of indescribable tenderness.
Sophia blinked her eyes, obediently letting Benjamin wipe her lips.
Looking at his handsome face, her heart began to race uncontrollably, and even her breath became rapid.
Her husband was so handsome!
As she leaned closer, Sophia could clearly smell the scent of pine on Benjamin.
Sophia instinctively wanted to get closer and sniff more, but suddenly felt a cool touch on her forehead.
A well-defined finger pressed against her forehead.
Benjamin's eyes flashed with amusement. "What are you doing?"
Sophia smiled sincerely, "Babe, you smell amazing!"
Benjamin slowly released his hand, slightly disdainful, "Dream on, don't try to take advantage of me."
Sophia retorted confidently, "How is this taking advantage? You're my husband; everything I do is justified."
Benjamin leaned lazily in his chair, reminding her, "We're married by agreement."
"But it's still a marriage! Do you think I'm that easy to marry?" Sophia pouted, looking aggrieved.
Benjamin chuckled, unable to resist rubbing Sophia's small head, "Eat quickly, it'll get cold and won't taste good."
Sophia wasn't easy to fool.
Sophia glared at him, then picked up her utensils again and continued eating.
Soon, she forgot all about Benjamin.
Benjamin leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving Sophia, following her movements as she picked up food.
After a while, half of the dishes on the table were empty.
Sophia leaned back in her chair, satisfied, rubbing her slightly bulging belly and silently sighing.
After staying at the Brown Villa for half a month, her appetite had surprisingly shrunk.
If it were before, she would have eaten everything.
As she sighed, a low, raspy voice suddenly sounded in her ear.
"Are you full?"
Sophia turned her head to see Benjamin standing up.
Benjamin stood tall and straight, his face handsome, every feature exuding refinement and dignity, making it hard not to be captivated.
As Sophia daydreamed, her forehead was suddenly tapped twice, "Daydreaming again? Where did you learn this bad habit? You need to change."
Sophia snapped out of it, blushing, covering her tapped forehead, and murmured softly, "I only daydream about you."
This sentence fell into the ears of Benjamin, who had just walked away.
He paused, his lips curling slightly, then quickly resumed his usual cold and distant demeanor.
As if the smile just now was an illusion.
At the White Manor, Finn informed Preston about Benjamin and Sophia's marriage.
Preston immediately stood up from the couch, looking at Finn in shock, "Are you serious? Benjamin really married the daughter of the Brown Family?"
"He was strongly opposed before. How did he change his mind so quickly?" Preston found it hard to believe.
Benjamin had grown up under his watch, and he knew how cold Benjamin's personality was.
He couldn't imagine what had caused Benjamin to change his mind and even take the initiative to marry someone.
Finn quickly smiled, "Mr. Preston White, do you remember the girl Mr. Benjamin White has been searching for all these years?"
Hearing this, Preston's expression became somewhat dazed.
Seventeen years ago, when Benjamin was seven, he was kidnapped by a criminal gang.
They searched all over Silverlight City and finally found him in the mountains near the Novaria border.
When they found him, he was barely alive, holding a weak and tiny girl in his arms.
The girl was so thin she was unrecognizable, supposedly three years old, but looked only one or two.
She was also kidnapped by the gang.
Despite his family's objections, Benjamin insisted on bringing the girl back to the White Family to raise her.
But after a few days, the girl disappeared.
When Benjamin woke up from his coma and found the girl gone, he threw a huge tantrum, even risking his life trying to find her.
Preston had used the White Family's connections to search for the girl in nearby towns, but never found her.
Since then, Benjamin's personality had become increasingly cold and violent.
Thinking of those events, Preston sighed deeply.
He asked Finn, "Could it be the daughter of the Brown Family is that girl?"
Finn replied honestly, "It seems so. She wears the other half of the jade pendant, and Mr. Benjamin White has confirmed it's a match. But..."
Finn hesitated.
Preston's expression turned serious. "But what?"
Finn lowered his eyes, frowning slightly, "But Mrs. White seems to remember Mr. Benjamin White, yet she was only three at the time. How could she remember so clearly?"
