Chapter 534: No Talking About Weight During Meals
Olivia is her biological mother. Although they've cut ties, when she saw Olivia lying on a hospital bed, barely clinging to life, her feelings were complicated.
And then there's Sawyer and the others. Sure, they hurt her, but it was just verbal attacks.
These things don't really matter to Sophia anymore. She stopped caring a long time ago.
But seeing three grown men carefully apologizing in front of her, she felt terrible.
She sat in Benjamin's lap, sharing what was on her mind, and asked him, "Do you think I should forgive them?"
Benjamin was silent for a moment, then said slowly, "You need to figure this out yourself. What others say doesn't count. What matters most is what you think in your heart."
He never interfered too much with Sophia's matters. As long as it wouldn't harm Sophia's safety and health, he never got involved.
Besides, only Sophia could make this decision.
Because no one else had the right to say "I forgive you" on her behalf.
Sophia leaned against Benjamin's shoulder, lost in thought.
Seeing her frowning and thinking hard, Benjamin was amused.
His slender fingers gently brushed across Sophia's forehead, smoothing out her furrowed brow, and he teased with a smile, "Mrs. White, it's dinner time. Want to eat first? You'll have more energy to think after you're full."
"Okay." Sophia snapped back to reality, stood up from Benjamin's lap, and let him pull her outside.
Benjamin chose a nearby restaurant, just a few hundred meters from the White Group building, and they walked hand in hand down the street.
The evening breeze blew gently, bringing a chill. Sophia couldn't help but hunch her shoulders.
Seeing this, Benjamin immediately took off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders.
While adjusting the clothes for her, he scolded: "Who said this morning they'd choose beauty over warmth? Now you know it's cold?"
Sophia giggled and threw herself into his arms, acting cute: "That's because you're here with me."
Benjamin felt sweetness rising in his chest, but his handsome face remained stern. "You're just good at making me happy."
Sophia's bright eyes sparkled, then she wrapped her arms around his neck, stood on her tiptoes, and kissed the corner of his lips. "Mr. White, is it sweet?"
She looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with tiny lights, like they were studded with stars—breathtakingly beautiful.
Benjamin felt his heart was almost overflowing. His voice was low and husky, his tone revealing his pleasure. "Sweet."
After arriving at the restaurant, they followed the waiter upstairs. As soon as they walked in, they ran into familiar faces.
"Joshua? Isolde? You're here too."
Isolde and Joshua, who had been bickering, suddenly stopped. They turned their heads in unison toward the door.
Isolde's eyes lit up, and she quickly stood up. "Sophia, you're eating here too. Come sit with us."
The waiter instinctively looked at Benjamin, his eyes questioning.
Benjamin instructed him, "We'll sit together. Order first."
The waiter blankly handed over the menu, realizing afterward that he had almost instinctively followed the man's orders.
Benjamin seemed to have this magic about him—a power that made people trust him and instinctively want to obey.
Sophia ordered several dishes. She and Benjamin had similar tastes—or more accurately, Benjamin accommodated her preferences.
Benjamin never cared much about what he ate. In his view, eating was just for survival; nothing good or bad about it.
But since meeting Sophia, watching her eat with such gusto and enjoyment, he always ended up eating a bit more.
The food tasted the same, but his mood improved, and eating became a pleasant thing.
While waiting for the food, Sophia curiously asked Isolde and Joshua: "What were you two arguing about?"
Isolde glared fiercely at Joshua, then, as if venting, grabbed a large piece of beef and stuffed it in her mouth, chewing hard.
While chewing, she stared viciously at Joshua.
As if what she was eating wasn't beef, but Joshua himself.
A vein twitched at Joshua's temple. He put down his utensils: "Isolde, Sophia told you not to eat spicy food. Are you not listening?"
"I only had one bite, I didn't eat much. Besides, you're not my mom, why should you control me?" As Isolde spoke, she picked up another piece of beef and stuffed it in her mouth.
This dish had chili peppers in it, which was simply unacceptable for Joshua, who never ate spicy food.
He'd tried a bite earlier and nearly coughed his lungs out.
But Isolde ate it without batting an eye, and even looked satisfied afterward. It was infuriating.
When Isolde reached her fork toward the spicy dish again, Joshua immediately tapped her fork. "You said one bite, but you've eaten half the plate. Don't you care about managing your figure? Don't you always say you want to lose weight? With all these calories, don't cry when you weigh yourself tomorrow morning."
"Joshua, shut up! Don't talk to me about weight while I'm eating!" Isolde angrily tried to hit him, but he quickly dodged, showing a provocative smile.
Isolde put down her fork and glared at him huffily: "I'm not eating anymore, I'm full! You're making me so angry!"
Joshua sheepishly touched his nose, knowing he'd made her angry. He quickly picked up a piece of beef and put it in her bowl: "Last piece, eat it."
Isolde: "No, I'll get fat if I eat it."
Joshua: "...You're not fat at all. You're really thin, with a great figure. You can't find a female celebrity in the entire entertainment industry with a better body than yours. Just eat it."
Isolde immediately laughed. The anger she'd been holding inside instantly disappeared. She picked up her fork coyly: "You're the one begging me to eat it, I'm not asking for it."
Joshua nodded with a smile, his eyes full of helplessness: "I'm begging you to eat it. Hurry up, we need to get back to the set soon."
"Since you're so sincere, I'll reluctantly eat a bit more."
With that, she immediately stuffed the beef Joshua had put in her bowl into her mouth. After eating her fill, she contentedly narrowed her eyes.
