Chapter 53 Older and More Considerate
Sawyer Brown, the second son, was a big-name actor in the entertainment world, having starred in a bunch of classic movies.
Tons of bloggers had taken his iconic scenes and turned them into short clips that had gone viral online, racking up millions of shares.
Flynn, the third son, was a flashy and pampered junior at Stellar University's med school.
They had always treated Isabella like their little sister, especially Flynn.
On the day Sophia first came to live with the Brown family, Flynn rushed over to warn her not to pick on Isabella.
Ever since then, anytime Isabella even looked a bit upset, Flynn would blame Sophia, convinced she was bullying Isabella.
Flynn never mentioned having another sister.
So, Sophia never imagined that the online friend she got along so well with was actually Flynn, her real-life brother, who despised and verbally attacked her.
Flynn was so wrapped up in his feelings that he didn't notice the shift in Sophia's tone.
He sneered, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "You think a girl with no self-respect and no manners could ever be my sister?"
"Our Isabella, on the other hand, is sweet, thoughtful, and well-mannered. Not like some people who'd even think about running away."
Sophia's face darkened, her red lips pressed into a tight line. "Did you see her run away with your own eyes?"
"Well, no, but with Sophia's spoiled and willful nature, it's possible." Flynn hesitated for a moment but was ultimately convinced by Olivia.
Sophia scoffed inwardly and said to Flynn, "Let's meet. Tomorrow at 10 AM, at the café near Stellar University. I'll be waiting."
With that, Sophia logged out of the game.
Flynn was puzzled but quickly got excited at the thought of meeting his online friend.
Lying in bed, his eyes were full of anticipation.
Judging by her voice, his online friend must be a cute girl.
Too bad she was married.
The next morning, Jeremy woke up to see a tall figure standing by his bed.
Startled, he quickly sat up, pulling the covers up. "What are you doing up so early? We don't have classes today, do we?"
Flynn was trying on clothes in front of the full-length mirror, his handsome face lit up with joy and excitement. "My online friend wants to meet today."
Jeremy's interest was piqued. "Really?"
He had played games with Sophia too.
Knowing how skilled she was, he was thrilled to hear Flynn was meeting her and jumped out of bed in excitement.
Jeremy put his arm around Flynn's neck, "Flynn, take me with you?"
Flynn pushed him away with a look of disdain. "No way. I'm meeting my friend, what's it got to do with you?"
Jeremy looked heartbroken, whispering, "How can you say that? We're best friends. Your friend is my friend!"
Flynn rolled his eyes, ignoring him and continuing to pick out clothes.
Looking at himself in the mirror, he felt a bit of anticipation.
What did she look like?
With such a sweet voice, she must be beautiful too, right?
Somehow, Sophia's doll-like, exquisite face suddenly flashed in Flynn's mind.
Despite her spoiled and willful nature, Sophia was the most beautiful girl Flynn had ever seen.
Realizing what he was thinking, Flynn quickly shook his head, showing a hint of disgust.
Ever since Sophia came back to the Brown family, she had been picking on Isabella, and now she had even run away, bringing shame to the family.
A woman like her didn't deserve to be his sister.
At White Manor, after setting the meeting time with Flynn, Sophia hung up and sat quietly on the bed, her eyes downcast.
When Benjamin walked into the bedroom, he saw Sophia in this unusual state.
Usually full of energy, Sophia now sat with her head down, her cherry-red lips pressed together, her long lashes casting small shadows on her cheeks, looking somewhat dejected.
Benjamin quickly approached and sat beside her.
Turning his head to look at Sophia, he asked gently, "What's wrong? Are you upset? Did someone mess with you?"
At White Manor, aside from Amelia and Preston, everyone else was both in awe and fear of him, not daring to provoke him.
Since Sophia came to the Brown family, the servants knew she was under his protection and wouldn't dare to bully her.
Who would be so bold as to mess with her?
Benjamin's face darkened, a cold and powerful aura emanating from him.
Sophia looked up, her eyes slightly red, her lips pouting as if seeking comfort like a wronged kitten.
Benjamin raised his hand, gently ruffling her hair, his cold demeanor softening. "Who messed with you?"
Sophia bit her lip, seething as she uttered Flynn's name. "I thought that cutting ties with the Brown family would mean they could no longer humiliate me, but they've spread rumors that I ran away with an old man and got kept!"
She was furious!
It was the first time Sophia had encountered such shameless people as the Brown family.
Benjamin was speechless.
He cleared his throat, touching his chin, a hint of confusion in his eyes. "Do I look old?"
Sophia was at a loss for words.
She added, "No, you're not old. You're just mature and caring."
Benjamin was momentarily at a loss for words.
She looked up at him angrily, "Honey, has the White Group's funding for the Brown Group gone through?"
Benjamin's face darkened as he nodded. "The day you came to White Manor, Grandpa personally signed the investment agreement with Hayden. With the White Group's funding, the Brown Group has already shown signs of improvement."
Sophia sneered, her eyes icy.
They were comfortably using the money they got from "selling" her!
"That money shouldn't have been given to them! They don't deserve the White Group's funding!"
The thought of them living comfortably off the money they got from "selling" her made Sophia furious.
Seeing her anger, Benjamin softly reassured her, "Don't worry, Hayden doesn't know how to run a company. The Brown Group has been losing money for years. Hayden is so arrogant that even with the White Group's funding, the Brown Group will still go bankrupt."
It was just a matter of time.
Sophia didn't respond.
Bankruptcy? That was too easy on them.
She looked up at Benjamin, "Honey, can I get a copy of the agreement and the funding transfer records between the White Group and Hayden?"
When she was still with the Brown family, Flynn would always call her names, saying she was shameless, uneducated, and a disgrace to the family.
She wanted to see Flynn's reaction when he saw this agreement.
